Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian: Married!
Game, set, match and championship … Serena Williams just served up a huge wedding ring and won the Grand Slam of life. Or something.
Mailed-in tennis jokes aside, Williams, 36, and new husband Alexis Ohanian, 34, have tied the knot. They are now husband and wife!
Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, and Williams, the greatest tennis star of all time, wed at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans.
The Williams-Ohanian wedding ceremony comes just 11 weeks after the duo welcomed their baby girl, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., on.
They began dating in 2015 and got engaged in 2016.
The wedding did not lack for star power. Beyonce was there. Enough said. So was Kim Kardashian, who is also close with the athlete.
Eva Longoria and José Bastón, and fellow tennis star Caroline Wozniacki with her fiancé, NBA star David Lee, were also among attendees.
They kept the wedding on the DL, as much as one can when Beyonce is coming, but crews were seen setting the scene on Thursday.
Shortly before the big wedding, Williams’ longtime coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, wished the couple a “very happy wedding” on Instagram.
Since they went public with their engagement in December, the celebrities haven’t been shy about showing their love on social media.
Ohanian first hinted at their relationship at the 2015 U.S. Open, when he cheered on Williams and shared an Instagram photo captioned:
“Come at the queen, you best not miss. #USOpen.”
(Williams lost in the semifinals in what was considered one of the biggest upsets of all time, but she remains the GOAT, don’t be mistaken.)
With 23 (!) Grand Slam singles titles to date, her career is already legendary – and now she has a beloved partner to truly share it with.
She penned this poem about his proposal last winter:
“I came home. A little late. Someone had a bag packed for me. And a carriage waited. Destination: Rome. To escort me to my very own ‘charming.’”
“Back to where our stars first collided. And now it was full circle. At the same table we first met by chance,” she wrote. “But by choice.”
“Down on knee. He said 4 words. And I said yes.”
Williams did not reveal what those four words were, but some things speak for themselves … even we can probably piece that together.
Ohanian commented on the post, along with hundreds of other Reddit users, writing, “And you made me the happiest man on the planet.”
So his Reddit fans and community, he added:
“Thank you all for the kind words. Especially from all my Armenian brothers and sisters debating when they can claim Serena as Armenian.”
Williams later gushed about Ohanian at the Australian Open this past January, saying, “He’s incredibly … a really nice person.”
“I think he definitely treats everyone the same, which is really cool to see,” she added, repeating, “really, really nice to see.”
In April, Williams dropped a bombshell by revealing she was 20 weeks pregnant on Snapchat, and the rest is history.

As the best women’s tennis player in the history of the world, Serena Williams is basically adverse to the term “love.”
On the court, that is.
Off the court, however, Serena just embraced this term in the most romantic and perpetual sense of the word.
What we’re saying is this: SERENA WILLIAMS IS ENGAGED!
The record-breaking Grand Slam champion has accepted a proposal from Alexis Ohanian, the man who founded Reddit and who has also apparently been dating Williams for several months.
This is news to The Hollywood Gossip.
But it’s very exciting news!
In a post titled “I Said Yes” on the service Ohanian invented, Williams wrote the following poem as confirmation of the engagement:
“I came home. A little late. Someone had a bag packed for me. And a carriage awaited. Destination: Rome. To escort me to my very own ‘charming.’ Back to where our stars first collided. And now it was full circle.
“At the same table we first met by chance. This time he made it not by chance. But by choice. Down on one knee. He said 4 words. And r/isaidyes.”
Williams included this creative drawing with the announcement:
Serena has previously been romantically linked to Common and to Drake.
We actually heard once that she got knocked up by Drake, but that report ended up being inaccurate.
Talk of her and Ohanian as an item heated up in October, with the above photo of the duo being snapped and shared on Instagram in November.
Wrote Alexis on Reddit, in response to Serena telling the world about the couple’s plans to wed:
“And you made me the happiest man on the planet.”
Williams holds 22 Grand Slam titles. She is one of the most dominant athletes, male or female, in the history of sports.
Ohanian, meanwhile, co-founded Reddit; is a New York native; and is the author of “Without Their Permission.”
According to E! News, he’s actually been dating Williams for over a year; the two have simply kept things on the down low.
An insider tells this site that Williams and Ohanian are “pretty opposite in many ways,” but are also very similar.
How so?
“They laugh non-stop and that really fuels their relationship,” the source explains. “They are on the same page in life and are excited to start something great with each other and build and grow a family.”
As for when they may get hitched? This same outlet says a wedding may take place in “about a year,” adding that Serena is “excited to plan that.”

Serena Williams: Dating Reddit Co-Founder Alexis Ohanian?
For weeks now, we’ve been hearing rumors that Serena Williams and Drake are dating. It’s even been reported that Serena is pregnant with Drake’s baby.
Now, however, Us Weekly is reporting that Serena is hooking up with a lesser-known – but no less successful – new boo.
The tabloid claims that Serena is dating Alexis Ohanian – the 32-year-old Internet entrepreneur who’s best known as the co-founder of social news site Reddit.
Apparently, the new couple met at a lunch for successful young people and immediately hit it off – even though Ohanian is not a tennis fan.
“He said he’d never been into tennis until they started dating,” a source tells Us.
The same source says that the couple is already so inseparable that Ohanian has started joining Williams for her training sessions.
The insider claims that during a recent workout, “[Ohanian] called her babe and they held hands.”
So should we expect a weepy, auto-tuned breakup ballad from Drake? Did Serena dump him for being unfaithful, as she reportedly threatened to?
Nah, apparently it’s nothing quite so dramatic. The source says the relationship between Drizzy and Serena was never anything more than a “flirty friendship.”
We don’t care what anyone says. We still think she blames the dude for her loss against Roberta Vinci.
