It’s not hard to imagine the pitch for Quantico:
It’s like Grey’s Anatomy! But with FBI members instead of doctors!
That’s basically what Quantico Season 1 Episode 1 delivered… not that we’re complaining.
This busy premiere managed to introduce viewers to some very attractive academy members, while also jumping ahead to depict the deadly events that caused one of them to allegedly stage a domestic act of terrorism.
Priyanka Chopra anchors Quantico as Alex. Within the opening minutes, she lies to her mother, has sex with a stranger and then rebuffs this stranger’s attempts to see her again.
For what reason? She knows that he’s not telling the truth about his identity.
But it turns out this stranger is also a member of the new Quantico class. We mentioned this is like Grey’s Anatomy but with FBI agents, right?
We later learn Alex’s big secret: she killed her father after he got drunk and beat her mother. Except she then discovered afterward that he was working with the FBI. She confesses this tidbit to Special Agent O’Connor only.
The premiere, meanwhile, opened and closed in the aftermath of an explosion inside Grand Central terminal in New York City.
Alex was nearly killed in it, but the FBI believes she was responsible for it. It doesn’t help that explosives, along with Ryan’s unconscious body, are found in her apartment.
Alex actually gets handcuffed and tossed into a van, only for Quantico director Miranda Shaw to step in and tell her to investigate her classmates to determine the true terrorist among them.
So… who did it? Will you keep tuning in to find out?
