It’s been less than a year since Lamar Odom nearly died in a Nevada brothel after suffering a massive overdose.
After several days in a coma and frightening period in which he was unable to speak, Odom made a recovery that medical professionals have described as nothing short of miraculous.
Then, unfortunately, the former NBA star fell back into the dangerous habits and addictions that nearly cost him his life.
Last month Odom was removed from a plane before takeoff after stumbling through the aisles and vomiting.
The very next day, photos of Odom partying with strippers emerged online.
Now a new round of pics of Odom hanging out at a strip club at a gentleman’s club in the wee hours has emerged, and friends and family are understandably concerned.
Obviously, Odom is a grown, single man and he’s free to spend as much time with strippers as he pleases.
But considering Odom was spending big bucks on sex workers during the bender that almost killed him in October of 2015, his renewed love of strip clubs is being taken as an indication that he’s fallen into his old, unhealthy ways.
Naturally, no one is more concerned than his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian.
On the most recent episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloe complained that Lamar has taken “five steps backwards” in his recovery and “there is only one outcome” left for him if he continues on the road that he’s currently on.
“You can’t do anything if the person is not willing to take control of their life and get help,” she told her sisters.
“I don’t even know what to do and I told him, ‘You know you could die right now."”
Frightening stuff.
Look, obviously, we love some good Kardashian drama as much as anyone.
But we prefer to keep it along the lines of “Rob and Blac Chyna’s relationship is ridiculous” or “everyone hates Kylie’s lip kits.”
Odom’s struggles are only getting sadder by the day, and there’s nothing melodramatic about Khloe’s assessment of the situation.
Hopefully the 36-year-old will get the help he needs ASAP.
This year has been filled with enough senseless loss already.
The idea of someone mounting an astonishing comeback like Lamar did and then throwing it all away is too harsh to think about.
We’re making a special public plea for a return to Kardashian drama that we can all roll our eyes at.
