Zooey Deschanel Welcomes Second Child!
It’s a new boy for the New Girl!
According to People Magazine, Zooey Deschanel has given birth to her second child with husband Jacob Pechenik.
The child’s name is Charlie Wolf and both he and his famous mother are doing fantastic.
“Zooey, Jacob and their daughter Elsie are overjoyed to welcome the newest member of their family,” a rep for the comedic actress tells the aforementioned publication.
To their credit, Deschanel and Pechenik maintain strict privacy rules when it comes to their children.
Little Charlie reportedly came into the world last week, but the exact date is unknown. We can’t speak on any of his measurements, either.
What can say for certain, however, is that Deschanel and Pechenik welcomed their first child in July of 2015, not long after getting married in Texas.
We then learned Deschanel was pregnant again in January.
“I’ve slowed things down a bit. I think it’s good for your whole self – your creative self, your professional self, and just your soul – to take a little time for yourself and your family,” Deschanel told Redbook for its May 2016 cover story when the topic of her family was broached.
She added at the time:
“I’ve never really felt like an adult. But I think it’s a huge accomplishment to have a child so maybe I feel like an adult for that reason!”
Hey, it certainly is. One could easily say it’s the biggest accomplishment anyone can ever… accomplish.
The funny star also appeared on Ellen in October and referenced her daughter’s current focus on fashion.
“She’s really obsessed with hats right now,” the actress said last fall. “My mom wears hats a lot and we had dinner with her and as soon as my mom came up, Elsie said ‘Hat! Hat!’
“I think she’s just really proud of herself that she recognizes that. If she walks in my closet, the hats are up on the top shelf, [and she points and says] ‘Haaat!’ [She’s] very excited.”
During her first pregnancy, meanwhile, Deschanel also said that she struggled with having to give up some of her most beloved food items.
“You can’t have sushi. You can’t have cheese that tastes good,” she told Jimmy Kimmel in 2015, adding:
“You can have a little bit [of coffee], but I would have, like, four cups a day. And now I can have a half cup, which is a joke! It’s a total joke!”
Still, it’s worthwhile in the end, we’re sure Deschanel would agree.

Zooey Deschanel: Pregnant with Baby #2!
The New Girl is ready to have a new girl.
Or a new boy!
That’s right, folks, Zooey Deschanel is pregnant!
This piece of exciting news was broken by Too Fab, who confirms that the hilarious sitcom star will welcome her second child with husband Jacob Pechenik some time this year.
The 37-year old actress Pechenik are already parents of 18-month-old daughter Elsie Otter.
They surprised fans in August of 2015 when not only announced the birth of this child, but also that they were married.
It turns out they exchanged vows in June of that year, without making a very big deal of it.
The actress’ rep released a statement a few weeks later that revealed Pechenik’s new status in Deschanel’s life.
“I am thrilled to confirm that Zooey Deschanel and her husband, Jacob Pechenik, are new parents to a beautiful healthy baby girl,” said the rep at the time.
But while Deschanel is typically pretty quiet about her personal life, she couldn’t help but gush over little Elsie during a recent appearance on Ellen.
“She is really special. She’s saying some words. She says a lot of words but she’s really obsessed with hats right now,” the star told Ellen DeGeneres, explaining:
“My mom wears hats a lot and we had dinner with her and as soon as my mom came out, my daughter said, ‘hat! hat!"”
Deschanel later told E! News’s Kristin Dos Santos that she hopes she is serving as a positive role model to her littie girl.
“When you’re holding your baby, you’re like, ‘I don’t wanna go to work – this is like the best thing ever,"” she said. “But it’s nice, I think, having a little girl, she knows her mommy works and I think that’s a good thing.”
As those who watch New Girl online know, Megan Fox joined the show while Zooey was on maternity leave the first time around.
Her character’s absence was explained by sticking her in jury sequestration.
It’s unclear at this point whether New Girl will return in 2017-2018, so there’s no need yet for writers to come up with another way to write Jess off for any extended period of time.
But that’s a matter for another time.
For now, allow us to simply send our best wishes to Deschanel and Pechenik, whose couple name, we assume, is “Peschanel.”

Zooey Deschanel: Pregnant With Second Child!
Looks like one child was not the plan for Zooey Deschanel and husband, Jacob Pechenik.
The 36-year-old New Girl actress is expecting her second child with Pechenik, but what does this mean for her hit Fox series?
We have no idea. When Deschanel took some time off to give birth to Elsie Otter last year, Megan Fox stepped in to cover for the six episodes Deschanel missed.
In the narrative, it was revealed that Jess was sequestered due to jury duty, but it’s doubtful the writers will be able to go that route this time.
It has been revealed that the cast and crew have been informed of the pregnancy, but it’s unclear what this will mean for production on a potential seventh season.
Yeah, the show has not yet been renewed, or canceled.
Megan Fox’s character, Reagan, was an instant hit with viewers and she has appeared sporadically on the show ever since her debut.
Her character was like a funnier version of Jess. Yeah, we know, Jess is hilarious, too.
Maybe they can make her a more regular fixture, or something.
There’s no denying that the show feels off without Deschanel, but we don’t even know how far along she is in her pregnancy at this stage.
There’s every possibility they could go straight into production on Season 7 to get some episodes in the can, but that would involve the show being picked up for more episodes.
Ratings are down around 20 percent this year, but the show still packs a punch in delayed viewing and Fox has been pretty vocal about not caring about the live ratings.
Could Fox be losing both Deschanel sisters in the one year?
Quite possibly. If you recall, Emily Deschanel is one of the leads in Bones, which will be ending its 12-year-run in the Spring.

Zooey Deschanel Explains Why She Named Her Baby After an Animal

“I love otters… she’s going to love them," Zooey told the Today crew this morning. "We just really liked the name Elsie, and then we both love otters because they’re so sweet and also smart.
