Orangutan Smokes Strewn Cigarette, Animal Activisits Flip Out
A video that depicts an orangutan smoking a cigarette discarded by a zoo patron has gone viral …
… and not in the positive sense, either, according to many animal rights activists.
Indeed, the following footage has sparked international anger toward this zoo"s alleged mistreatment of animals.
The video was shot by a visitor last Sunday at Indonesia"s Bandung Zoo, which is approximately 90 miles southeast of the capital, Jakarta.
As you"re about to see, it captures a young man taking a few puffs from a cigarette and then tossing the still-lit item to the ground of an open-air enclosure.
It"s at this point that a 22-year old orangutan named Odon actually picks up the cigarette and begins to inhale it, drawing immense laughter from the crowd.
But many folks out there do not find this incident to be funny.
A handful of animal rights organizations have condemned the visitor’s carelessness and the zoo’s apparent lack of supervision and education against such acts.
However…
"There"s actually a sign at the location which says visitors are not allowed to give food and cigarettes to the animals," said a zoo spokesperson in response to this scandal.
Still, though, Marison Guciano, founder of the Indonesia Animal Welfare Society, went after the zoo"s management for "weak control"and generally criticized the place for a lack of welfare standards.
Elsewhere, about one million people have signed a Change.org petition to "Shut down the Bandung Zoo now!" following the orangutan incident.
It reminds us, to some extent, of the extreme outcry that took place in May of 2016 after a gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo had to be shot to death because a toddler climbed into its enclosure.

Scary stuff.

Mariah Carey Grew Up Amid Animal Sacrifices, Satanic Sex Rituals: Report
Mariah Carey has been at the center of some interesting rumors over the years.
There was a lawsuit that alleged she only likes black guys, for example.
And there’s been constant chatter over diva-like behavior that centers on some outlandish demands while the singer is on tour.
But the following report is a new one.
And a rather unusual one, we might say.
Anyone might say, really.
According to Radar Online, Mariah was raised by a mother who was deeply involved in some kind of dark cult.
It allegedly featured the sacrificing of animals in front of a young Carey, along with some bizarre sexual activity.
“At a very young age, both Mariah and her sister, Alison, were involved in the ceremonies and participated in them,” a family source tells Radar.
The artist grew up in Long Island and Alison herself spoke to the aforementioned website, saying she has memories of being taken by her parent to some kind of giant “castle.”
Explains the superstar’s sibling:
“It was there that the satanic rituals, led by my mother, took place. I remember people wearing hooded cloaks, standing in a circle and chanting.”
Ummm… yikes?
And may we also add: WTH?!?
“There was also sexual activity and [animal] sacrifices, which the participants believed would please the deity they were there to worship,” Alison continues.
It may be worth pointing out here that Alison is HIV-positive, broke and living in a halfway house in upstate New York.
Does this mean she’s lying? No.
Does it mean she may not be the most reliable source? Yes.
Mariah has made references in the past to her uncomfortable upbringing, however.
She has mentioned in long-ago interviews that she was “embarrassed” by her mom’s behavior at times.
The singer never got into specific likes Alison does here, though.
“I was trained to run ‘The Group!’” she told Radar, expounding in disturbing detail:
“At first, as a small child, I would not understand what was happening – being forced to watch as a struggling animal was violently killed in front of me.
“But as I grew older, I began to comprehend the horror of it, and that it was something most children were not exposed to.”
Alison claims local police remained quiet and didn’t interfere because some cops were “a part” of the cult.
Mariah’s sister is a mother of four who has worked as a prostitute and was once a heroin addict.
She was hospitalized in 2015 for major brain trauma after some kind of serious attack.
She has reached out to Carey over the years for financial assistance, but has been rebuked every time.
So, again, this doesn’t automatically mean Alison is lying. But let’s take her claims with a grain of salt the size of Carey’s ego.
“Mariah, I love you, and I desperately need your help! Please don’t abandon me like this!” she concludes in her Radar interview.

Joy-Anna Duggar & Austin Forsyth: God Says Animal Abuse is Our Right!
The Duggar family holds all sorts of believes that fall well outside of mainstream Christianity — or the rest of society, for that matter. Beliefs like Josh Duggar’s actions being the devil’s fault or that men own women already put them at odds with much of the world.
So when Austin Forsyth and Joy-Anna Duggar got slammed for what critics said was an endorsement of animal-abuse, it’s not surprising that the couple disagreed.
But the couple is defending themselves by arguing that, actually, God says it’s totally okay!
So, have you ever seen a rodeo show? You may have at least glimpsed part of one.
There are a lot of cable channels out there, and some of them have events that you wouldn’t think existed outside of oldtimey movies and Westworld.
Rodeo shows, in which young cattle are released in a frenzy only to be pursued, knocked to the ground, and forcibly have all of their limbs tied together while they panic, are often criticized as animal cruelty.
Well, Austin and Joy-Anna Forsyth have seem one.
They didn’t just watch one on the Sin Screen or whatever the Duggars call television, but actually went to one. In person.
Which, again, sounds like something straight out of an old-timey movie.
The couple attended the Stockyards Championship Rodeo in Forth Worth, Texas. And they posted about it on social media.
And the backlash was immediate.
“The rodeo is pure animal abuse,” one commenter wrote. “So you’re anti-abortion but pro animal abuse?”
There are people who try to keep their views consistent across the board. If they oppose meat-eating because of inhumane treatment, then they can’t bring themselves to support the death penalty for the same reason.
Clearly, Austin and Joy-Anna do not fall under this umbrella.
“Not animal ‘abuse.’ And humans and animals are not equal.”
Ignoring, for the moment, their contention that roping a calf for entertainment isn’t abuse — we’d be interested to hear that argument — critics would point out two issues with their response.
One, they say “humans and animals.” What exactly do they think that humans are? Plants? Minerals?
Two, it appears that they’re saying that a zygote — a single-celled organism formed from a fertilized egg that could potentially grow into a human — is more important that a living, feeling animal that already exists.
They wouldn’t be alone in that, but … it’s a controversial stance for a number of reasons.
And the controversy continued.
Another commenter wrote:
“Humans are just intelligent apes.”
Uh-oh. We have a feeling that this argument isn’t going to work with the Forsyths.
The comment continued: “It’s incredibly arrogant of us to conclude a human life is more important than any other animal’s life just because we can verbalize our thoughts and emotions.”
Whether you agree in whole, in part, or not at all with that statement, it’s very well said.
The Forsyth’s didn’t see eye-to-eye with the commenter:
“God is no ape, and we are created in His image. Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him, male and female created he them.”
Interestingly, a lot of anti-evolution arguments cite humanity being made from clay or ribs or otherwise willed into being rather than beginning with “God is no ape.”
But let’s not stray from the topic.
We wonder where Austin and Joy-Anna draw the line, with regard to what they do and do not consider abuse of a non-human animal.
Of course, we have to remember that, as a Duggar, Joy-Anna grew up in a household that is allegedly abusive. Fringe religious beliefs aside, she might have a very skewed idea simply of what’s acceptable for one human being to do to another.
That said … Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth probably had sex before marriage, so maybe there’s hope for them to grow beyond Joy’s family’s expectations.

Love & Hip Hop Hollywood Season 4 Episode 5: Spirit Animal
Filming a music video is meant to be a day filled with a lot of different looks and locations, with no room for bickering.
On Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood Season 4 Episode 5, tensions flared up at a music video shoot, and it made me question whether the circle of friends would ever be the same again.
When the episode gets underway, Cisco is having a break from his problems with Teairra and meets up with A1 for some drinks.
His tranquil mood, however, is knocked by the arrival of Moniece and Nia who stalked him on social media to find out where he was.
The ladies want to know why Cisco is not taking his girlfriend’s problems more seriously, and think that he needs to own up to the fact that Teairra is falling off the wagon.
While Cisco said that the ladies were exaggerating, Moniece says that coming from a family of addiction has opened her eyes to know when someone is in trouble.
When Cisco does not play ball and get on the same page as her, she storms off in floods of tears as she worries about what could become of her friend.
Meanwhile, Hazel-E wants the world to know that she’s an up and coming singer and that she is building a brand that will be worth millions.
“Today we’re doing a photo shoot for my glow-up kit. My boo, Rose [Burgundy], he’s been putting in that work. But lately, he’s been cramping my style a little bit. I know Rose has been looking for his moment, but right now – it’s the Hazel-E show because I’m paying all the bills,” she reveals.
Hazel wants her man to have a career, but while she’s in charge, it’s all about her, and I’m kind of alright with that. Say what you want about Hazel, but her confessionals are always excellent.
Elsewhere, Alexis Skyy is upset that Solo Lucci’s baby mother crashed her modeling shoot, so she decides to get him back by intercepting his radio interview.
“F*ck this whole interview right now,” she yells, but Solo seems to think he had nothing to do with it.
“You playing yourself. I miss you too,” the rapper replies before screaming, “Everybody knows you’re a pass around b*tch!”
Classy.
Things for Chanel West Coast and Safaree Samuels were going well in the studio. Safaree claims that Chanel’s rapping is better than her performances.
Safaree says it’s best to have her perform with Hazel-E, but things go from bad to worse for their relationship on the video shoot, and Hazel is escorted off the set after an argument.
Finally, Cisco reveals to Teairra that he is so over all the drama she brings to the table and goes to meet up with his ex-girlfriend, Amber and there’s no way they were just talking.
She was wearing lingerie when she answered the door, and she looked like she was ready for a good time. Is Teairra fully out of the picture?

Siesta Key Star Accused of Animal Cruelty, Threatened with Death
Welp.
That didn’t take long.
Siesta Key has aired an entirety of one episode on MTV and the show is already facing threats of a boycott.
The show was actually facing a boycott before it even aired last night’s premiere; and this is why…
Prior to MTV airing the opening installment, footage of a shark being dragged to its death went viral.
And while Siesta Key star Alex Kompothecras was not the one doing the dragging, he is a close friend of the main perpetrator and that’s enough for animal lovers.
Outrage over the incident spread quickly around the Internet, with a Facebook page titled “Boycott Siesta Key MTV” earning over 8,000 Likes in just a few days time.
“Over the past few days, the connection between the production of the Siesta Key show and the horrific videos and photos of animal abuse have come to light,” reads a Facebook entry for a protest of Monday night’s premiere event.

The premiere party, which had been scheduled to take place yesterday in Siesta Key (d’uh) was actually canceled at the last minute.
Due to this protest? In part.
But Alex also received a number of death threats, which the Facebook group does NOT condone.
“We have repeatedly said that we do not condone any type of violence of threats of any kind! We come from a place of love. Thanks for all the support,” reads a message on the site.
Alex’s father, a chiropractor named Gary Kompothecras, came up with the idea for the series, which is produced by the same team behind Laguns Beach and which will track the lives of eight privileged friends in the Siesta Key,
Dr. Kompothecras wants his son to be the focal point of the show; he wants Alex to basically be the next Lauren Conrad.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Dr. Kompothecras did not clarify whether the viewing party for the premiere was canceled due to the shark video and subsequent death threats.
But he did hint at other underlying issues.
“I wouldn’t say that’s the only reason,” he said mysteriously. “There are other reasons.”
Alex, meanwhile, maintains his innocence.
“I had absolutely nothing to do with the shark video,” he wrote on the aforementioned Facebook page, adding of the person at the center of it:
“Yes he’s a friend of mine, but no I don’t agree with what he did. Check your facts before you go posting on my page. Thanks.”
MTV has not commented on the controversy.
But it did air the premiere, of course.

Kim Zolciak: Who The F--k Called Animal Control On My Dogs?!?
We grew to love Kim Zolciak on The Real Housewives of Atlanta for her outspoken nature and penchant for not letting people trash-talk her.
So, we’re delighted that she’s returning to her old stomping ground and even more excited that it will likely find her feuding with Kenya Moore on a weekly basis.
That’s assuming Kenya does not get the pink slip from the hit Bravo series.
As you all know, there is no love lost between Kim and Kenya. In short, they hate each another. More on that in a little.
Ever since Kim’s son was attacked by a dog earlier this year, she has been hitting up social media to make it abundantly clear that not all dogs like to snack on children.
It’s a positive image to show off to her young son Kash who could have been scared of the four-legged animals for the rest of his life. It’s not uncommon to steer clear of something that genuinely freaks you out.
Kim recently revealed that her family had adopted three puppies, Shiloh, Sage, and Stella. Since then, there has been a never-ending stream of images of the animals on social media.
They are adorable.
Kim took to social media on Sunday, July 30 to reveal that someone had called animal control to complain that the reality TV star was not looking after the dogs properly, and she was not impressed.
“Apparently somebody thought it would be really cute to call the animal control center on my dogs today and say they were not being taken care of,” the Don’t Be Tardy star confirmed while holding a business card for Fulton County Animal Services.
“I am utterly f–king disgusted and appalled by the person who did this.”
“Of course we are in the clear because my dogs are very well taken care of,” she revealed, before saying that she had spent over $ 3000 caring for the dogs since she got them.
“I will no longer be sharing any part of my dogs and their life on my social media any longer,” she concluded, meaning we don’t get any more pictures of the cuties.
Given the circumstances, Kim reacted in the way any normal person would. Pets become part of the family, and having your role as the person who cares for them called into question is not the nicest of things to happen.
It’s certainly timely considering her feud with Kenya Moore seems to be bubbling back up.
It was just days ago that Kim’s daughter, Brielle Biermann, hit out at her mother’s fellow RHOA co-star for the way she was treating her at a party.
Whatever the case, it means we are likely going to have some more of Kim’s signature selfies, so we’ll just have to deal with that.
