For the past two weeks, rumors that Kailyn Lowry is pregnant with her third child have been circulating non-stop on social media.
Fans got specific with this one, going so far as to claim that Kailyn is pregnant by Javi Marroquin, whom she’s currently in the process of divorcing.
Kailyn addressed the rumors in a statement to Radar Online issued last week, but not surprisingly, many Teen Mom 2 viewers remain unconvinced.
“Anyone else think Kail looks pregnant?” reads one comment on the photo above.
“Why does Kail look pregnant?” wrote another Instagram follower.
In the week since the Radar denial, Kailyn has reiterated on social media that she is not currently expecting a third child.
Now, it seems Kailyn has decided that the speculators are gonna speculate, and it’s not worth issuing a denial every time some Internet rando makes a bold declaration about her uterus.
However, that doesn’t mean she’s about to stay silent when the pregnancy talk turns to fat-shaming.
In a since-deleted tweet a fan remarked to Kailyn yesterday that she should stop eating Chick-Fil-A, as she’s “fat enough already.”
“I did put on a little weight this winter, huh? I’m happy though,” Kailyn responded.
It was a surprisingly level-headed response to a rather cruel online attack.
Of course, Kailyn knows that she’s reached a point in her fame in which her devoted followers will happily rush to her defense, and that’s exactly what happened here.
The fat-shamer was promptly put in her place by a few hundred TM2 obsessives, and the offending tweet was deleted shortly thereafter.
As for the pregnancy rumors, we suppose it’s not hard to see why fans are reluctant to believe Lowry.
When Jenelle Evans denied being pregnant with her third child, she set a precedent that will likely affect her castmates for years to come.
Now, when one of the ladies addresses pregnancy rumors, fans are more apt to see it as “pulling a Jenelle” – putting off confirmation so that she can do it on her own terms.
Since the reports are especially scandalous in Kailyn’s case – as fans believe she’s secretly pregnant by her estranged husband – many feel she has additional reason to keep things on the down-low.
So yeah, it may be tough for Lowry to convince fans she’s telling the truth.
