Donald Trump to Snoop Dogg: You Should Be in Jail!

Donald Trump is not a member of the Dogg Pound.

In fact, Donald Trump thinks Snoop Dogg ought to be impounded.

In a manner of speaking.

The President of the United States jumped on Twitter last night to respond to Snoop’s latest music video, which is in honor of the song “Lavender” and which includes a rather controversial scene:

At one point in the video, Snoop holds a gun up to the head of a Trump-resembling clown named President Ronald Klum, who is calling for all canines to be deported.

The artist actually kidnaps this fictional Commander-in-Chief… chains him up… and then threatens to assassinate him.

“It ain’t no fun when the rabbit’s got the gun, is it?” the rapper asks at one point in the footage, prior to firing the prop.

It really is as crazy as it sounds.

See for yourself:

Ted Cruz has come out and said a threat such as this (even an idle one, even one couched in art or satire) is inappropriate and borderline illegal.

Marco Rubio has also come down hard against the scene in question.

And now Trump has done the same.

“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!” the President Tweeted in response.

Of all the things Trump has written on social media, this is not among the craziest.

It actually is against the law to threaten the life of the President.

We don’t think Snoop was actually doing that in this clip.

And we doubt law enforcement will do anything about the video.

But there are plenty of ways to get one’s point across when condemning Trump and/or his policies without resorting to this kind of image.

The rapper did so himself when speaking to Billboard about Trump’s proposed Muslim ban.

Said Snoop when asked about his message in the video:

The ban that this motherf-cker tried to put up; him winning the presidency; police being able to kill motherf-ckers and get away with it; people being in jail for weed for 20, 30 years and motherf-ckers that’s not black on the streets making money off of it…

But if you got color or ethnicity connected to your name, you’ve been wrongfully accused or locked up for it, and then you watching people not of color position themselves to get millions and billions off of it.

It’s a lot of clown sh-t going on that we could just sit and talk on the phone all day about, but it’s a few issues that we really wanted to lock into [for the video] like police, the president and just life in general.

Snoop is yet to respond directly to Trump’s Tweet.

Sources have said the Secret Service is aware of this music video, but it’s doubtful that any kind of investigation will be launched.

Do you think Snoop crossed a line with this mock assassination?

Or do you think everything is fair game with Trump at this point?

(And what about those Donald Trump tax returns? Will we ever see them in full?!?)
