After weeks of rumors and denials, we learned last month that Kailyn Lowry is pregnant with her third child.
Despite the fact that she became wealthy and famous from a reality show about pregnancy and motherhood, Kailyn has made the decision to remain relatively tight-lipped this time around.
Of course, we mean “tight-lipped” by 2017 standards …
She’s still posting on social media, and though she hasn’t given any definitive answers about matters like the identity of her baby daddy, savvy fans have had no trouble piecing together the clues.
For instance, a slip-up by Kail during a live Instagram stream led fans to the conclusion that Chris Lopez is the father of her child.
Now, the biggest remaining mystery is when Kailyn’s bundle of joy will enter the world.
Kailyn still hasn’t revealed her due date, but with the amount she posts on social media, it hasn’t been difficult to come up with a rough approximation of when she’s expected to give birth.
Kail posted the above selfie yesterday and when a fan speculated that she appears to be about halfway through her pregnancy, she answered in the affirmative.
That would mean that Kailyn’s due date is likely sometime in late July or early August.
It would also mean that she concealed her pregnancy from fans for much longer than we originally thought.
Kailyn confirmed that she was pregnant on February 23, and based on this new information, she probably learned that she was knocked up in November.
You have to give her credit for keeping the secret for that long considering how much scrutiny she’s under.
In addition to starring on Teen Mom 2, Kail has millions of followers on every major social media platform.
It couldn’t have been easy to keep something so major under wraps, but it’s not hard to see why Kailyn put in the effort.
Fans have been judging her harshly ever since she went public with the news.
Not only has she been criticized for having three kids by three different men, some fans have thrown shade over the fact that one of the reasons for Kailyn’s divorce from Javi Marroquin was that he wanted more kids and she didn’t.
She explained her decision in a lengthy social media post, writing:
“Of course, I was filmed on the show saying I didn’t want any more kids but I’m pregnant again,” she wrote.
“I know so many will have comments on this but here’s the thing — I didn’t want to bring another child into a failing marriage.
“Shortly after I started having complications, the option of having more kids was almost taken away from me. When I started thinking long and hard, I knew I wanted more. This was the choice I made. This is the baby I thought I wasn’t sure if I could have.”
Obviously, some fans will never understand and will continue to hate.
But the important thing is that Kailyn stands by her choice.
