Yesterday we learned the sad news that Aaron Rodgers and Olivia Munn had broken up.
It was a little surprising, because they’d been together for three years and were rumored to be engaged, but at the same time, it wasn’t surprising at all.
See, Olivia has had a long history of not quite getting along with Aaron’s family.
Just after Olivia began dating Aaron in 2014, she allegedly got into an argument with his brother, Jordan Rogers, former NFL player and winner of The Bachelorette.
It was actually less of an argument and more of a “huge blowout fight” that began with “Jordan accusing her of not allowing Aaron to spend time with his family and escalated from there to Jordan calling her fame hungry.”
Specifically, “Jordan accused Olivia of using Aaron to boost her fame and status.”
As the insider who told this story explains, Olivia “can be really combative.”
“Jordan had told Aaron before the final fight that she wasn’t good for him. It seems like she will do anything to keep him from his family simply because they don’t like her.”
After that, Aaron reportedly stopped talking to his family altogether.
His own father seemingly confirmed that when he gave a vague comment about the situation in an interview in January, stating that “Fame can change things.”
Olivia responded in equally vague terms — in a note she wrote on Instagram for Aaron and his team, the Green Bay Packers.
“So proud of this time,” she wrote. “They faced a lot of adversity on and off the field, but battled to get this far.”
“Thank you to those of you who encouraged and supported them by choosing to put out only positive energy.”
Because get it, Aaron’s father was putting out negative energy with his catty interview?
Right, so what does all this have to do with Aaron and Olivia’s breakup?
According to a new report from Radar Online, it has everything to do with it.
“Aaron broke up with her because he was tired of all her bullsh-t,” a source close to Aaron claims. “At the end of the day, she was a lot of drama!”
“He has such a nice and caring family. He did this for them.”
The source says that “he’s mending his family relationships now. Aaron could never have bridged that gap with Olivia around.”
So that’s a little different than the report we heard yesterday, the one about how “they have amicably ended their relationship” and they “remain close friends and wish nothing but the best for each other moving forward,” huh?
We’re guessing only time will tell which version is the truth.
