Last week, we reported that a model named Layla Lace claims Drake got her pregnant.
Lace made her accusation in a lengthy, detailed rant, in which she insisted that the Canadian rapper her baby daddy and has been avoiding her since he learned that she was knocked up.
“So I guess still in this era this is the new thing that after you tell a dude you pregnant they stop answering they phone!!!” Lace wrote on Instagram.
“One lesson i have learned out of this whole situation is to never be so naive when a guy disrespect you.”
She went on to claim that Drizzy had been “disrespectful” toward her and that she would prefer not to go public with the details of her personal life, but sees no other way to get the rapper to acknowledge her.
The tirade gets increasingly angry, with Lace finally writing simply, “F–K YOU Drake!”
Now, the model is getting her wish, as Drake has apparently decided to respond to the situation – through his lawyers.
Yes, it seems Drake is taking no chances on this one.
According to TMZ, Drake’s team pulled out the big guns and demanded that Lace remove all baby daddy allegations from her social media pages.
She complied, which is a pretty good indication that she never had any real reason to believe that Drake is the father of her child.
If she really had cause to think that she was pregnant with Drake’s baby, and if he really refused to acknowledge the pregnancy, then Lace would be well within her rights in putting him on blast.
Based on the text message screenshots that Lace shared on Instagram (above) it appears that she and Drake are somehow acquainted.
(Of course, that sort of thing is easily faked, but we’ll give her the benefit of the doubt here.)
Assuming the texts are legitimate, there’s still no indication that Drake and Lace ever had a sexual relationship, much less that he got her pregnant.
It seems that this is just a classic case of an epically thirsty (and possibly slightly unhinged) fan trying to extort a celebrity.
Social media has made it easier to do so, but fortunately, celeb lawyers know how to handle obsessive fans on the ‘Gram.
