Jinger Duggar: Is She on Birth Control?

If you watch Counting On online, then you’re probably aware that the Duggar clan is a deeply religious lot.

And we don’t mean they hit church every Sunday and keep a Bible on the coffee table.

We mean Duggar women aren’t allowed to wear pants, only skirts, because Michelle thinks Levi’s make baby Jesus cry, or something.

The Duggars are adherents of the controversial Quiverfull movement, which holds that humans are put on Earth in order to please God by producing as many offspring as possible.

Yes, Duggar girls are taught from a young age that their some reason for being is to procreate.

Naturally, Duggars are forbidden to engage in premarital sex (prior to engagement, they’re not even allowed to hold hands), so obviously the early years of marriage are meant to be one long breed-fest.

So it always comes as a surprise when one of the Duggars gets hitched and doesn’t immediately announce a pregnancy.

Jinger Duggar married Jeremy Vuolo back in November, and almost eight months later, there’s still no word on that she’s in a family way.

There have been rumors that Jinger is pregnant, and some fans think they’ve spotted a baby bump in some of her Instagram photos, but still no announcement from the Vuolos.

It could be that pregnancy simply hasn’t happened yet, and the couple is still trying.

But there’s another possibility, as well:

Remember that skirts-only rule we mentioned earlier?

Well, Jinger wears pants. And she posts photos of it on social media.

Yes, she flouts one of her family’s most famous rules and flaunts her heathen legwear on Instagram, because Jinger simply can’t be tamed.

So it’s possible that Jinger is kicking tradition to the curb in others ways, as well, and is in no hurry to get knocked up.

Jinger is such a rebel (by Duggar standards) that she inspired the name of the anti-Duggar website FreeJinger.org.

And some on that site believe that Jinger is defying her parents by using birth control.

“Hopefully it’s by choice, and that she’s starting to question more and more of how she was raised,” wrote one commenter, referring to the fact that Jinger doesn’t appear to be pregnant.

The Duggars have made their views on birth control clear in the past, and to the surprise of no one, they’re against it.

In fact, Jinger’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, blame their past use of birth control on a miscarriage Michelle suffered early in their marriage.

So Jinger going on the pill would be a major act of rebellion.

The Free Jinger movement seems hopeful, but it seems unlikely that the newlywed would defy her parents so brazenly.
