These days, Jana Duggar courtship rumors surface about once a week, but it’s not hard to see why fans of the Duggar clan take such an interest in her love life.
As the oldest single Duggar female, Jana is something of a mysterious figure.
Duggar women are taught from birth that procreation is their primary reason for being, so it’s unusual to see a childless 27-year-old in the world of the “Quiverfull” movement.
(Jana’s twin brother, John-David Duggar, is also single, but Duggar men aren’t expected to live the lives of breeding machines.)
Jana courtship rumors have run the gamut from reasonable to completely outlandish over the years.
Back in May, for example, reports that Jana was being courted by Jonathan Hartono circulated on social media.
Despite falling under the “reasonable” heading, those rumors were quickly debunked.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, back in 2014 it was widely reported that Jana was dsting Tim Tebow.
Fans were none too shocked when that one got shot down.
So Jana isn’t dating the football flameout who was taking a knee before it was controversial.
That certainly won’t stop the rumor mill from churning.
Over the last week, there’s been a new round of courtship talk, and this one involves a man so mysterious many fans don’t even know his name.
His name is Caleb Williams, and he’r been popping up in Duggar family photos, and fans are convinced he’s the new man in Jana’s life.
But he’s better known to many fans as Jana’s mystery man.
That’s a photo posted by the Duggar clan on Saturday night.
It was captioned simply, “We love a great dinner together!!!”
The man in the foreground was left unidentified, but fans did their own detective work.
“Probably Jana’s ‘friend’…. they probably sat far apart on purpose,” wrote one fan, adding:
“The duggars always do things like that to keep things quiet while the couple is on the ‘just talking’ phase, prior to announcing them as a couple.”
After several such comments were posted, followers took it upon themselves to identify Caleb as a longtime family friend of the Duggars.
“For everyone losing their minds trying to figure out who the strange guy is, he’s Caleb Williams. He’s a church friend of the family,” wrote one fan.
Many of the comments addressed Caleb’s appearance, with some fans believing he was dressed inappropriately, or simply that he was not a suitable mate for Jana.
Caleb addressed those remarks yesterday with a comment of his own.
“To all the folks out there wondering: No, I had no idea my unmentionables were hanging out. In the future I will probably triple check to verify the integrity of my outer garments before any such pictures are snapped and shared,” Williams wrote.
“Typically our society as a whole frowns upon any color of boxers being exposed in formal style dress. My apologies to anyone that suffered from nightmares or any other egregious symptoms due to the excessive skin and dyed cotton exposure,” he added.
“Thank you everyone for the thoughts and advice!”
Sounds like a funny guy!
Maybe he’s not courting Jana, but suddenly, we wish he was!
