Riverdale Season 2 Episode 3 Recap: What Does The Killer Want?

The killer’s intention became as clear as day on Riverdale Season 2 Episode 3 when he sent a chilling bit of proof to Alice because she could write all about it in her newspaper.

The Black Hood wanted to rid Riverdale of all the sinners and make the town great again. In order to make everyone believe he was the villain, he also sent Fred’s wallet and Ms. Grundy’s glasses.

Mayor McCoy and Sheriff Keller told Alice to keep the package on the down low, but she was adamant the residents of the town needed to know the truth about what was going on.

All of this sent Archie on a downward spiral as he tried to find a way to keep his town safe from the killer. That resulted in him starting the “Red Circle” group.

He, along with various members of Riverdale High decided to keep everyone away from harm. Their first big call to arms was someone following Ethel Muggs who was walking home in the dead of night.

They managed to save her, but she was severely shaken up. Does Ethel have some dark secret she’s hiding from those nearest to her? That will be one of the more significant questions as we delve deeper into Riverdale Season 2.

Meanwhile, Veronica continued her battle for power with her mother when she brought her friends over to watch the season premiere of The Bachelorette.

Hiram was still trying to play nice with Veronica, but he did make it clear to Archie he would not stand for him visiting Veronica in the middle of the night and staying over.

He did confirm he was glad about the way Archie was pro-active to keep the town safe, so they do seem to be on the same wavelength.

Hiram did scold Hermione for trying to “poison” Veronica against him. It seemed like Hermione did not want Veronica getting into her father’s study. It’s unclear whether she was jealous because she (Hermione) does not get invited.

Jughead kicked off his studies at Southside High, and he met Toni Topaz who introduced him to the various groups of people present in the school.

He tried to get the school paper off the ground, and a teacher actually allowed him to do it. Not everything went well, however. The youngster was locked in the school in the dead of night and brutally attacked because he did not want to join the Serpents.

In the end, he realized that he would need to join them if he wanted to keep safe at the school. He may have been reluctant about it at first, but something tells me he will be friends with them all before long.

Then there was Kevin, who continued putting his life on the line by cruising in the woods. Betty was not impressed that he was doing this and it paved the way for the mother of all showdowns.

Kevin felt like everything was so easy for everyone else, but he could not do anything in town without being scrutinized for it. The friends parted ways, and Kevin was unamused that she told his father everything.

There was a big scene between Kevin and Moose. Yes, both Moose and Midge survived. It looks like Kevin and Moose could try and forge a relationship together, but that would mean Moose having to come out.

What did you think of all the twists?

Riverdale continues next Thursday on The CW!
