It hasn’t been quite two years since Desiree Hartsock gave birth to her baby boy.
But Desiree and husband Chris Siegfried — one of those rare, rare examples of a Bachelor fam match that actually lasts for any time at all — already have more good news.
Desiree is pregnant with baby number two!
In an Instagram post, Desiree made the announcement to her fans and followers.
Desiree writes: “We are beyond excited to finally announce that we’re expecting baby number two!!”
That is such good news!
“And it’s safe to say,” Desiree continues. “After Asher realized he was going to be a BIG brother he wasn’t so happy!”
She is kidding. Here is a photo of the now-toddler with his parents sporting a casual Fourth of July look.
“Lol,” Desiree writes. “Actually he just didn’t want to take direction (what kind of toddler is he?) and had a tantrum.”
Awww, poor thing. Toddlers might not really understand what it’s like to be an older sibling just yet. They’re also overwhelmed with emotion because the whole world is still so new to them.
“BUT,” Desiree says. “We are glad to share our good news with you all.”
Of course! Good news is always fun to share.
“And can’t wait to take you along for the ride!” Desiree concludes.
Desiree does follow up with a plug and an answer.
“Read more of our family planning and baby announcement over at @usweekly,” Desiree writes. “(Link in profile).”
We have the contents of those statements below, for your convenience.
“We don’t know gender yet,” Desiree admits. “But will find out and share when the time comes.”
Finally, Desiree writes: “Thanks for all the support and love during this time!!!”
Speaking to Us Weekly, Desiree Hartsock gushed about this second pregnancy.
“We both felt joy,” she says of herself and husband Chris Siegfried, who won her season of The Bachelorette and also her heart.
Desiree says that there’s a major difference between the first pregnancy and this one.
“I wasn’t working during the first pregnancy,” she reveals.
She is a bridal gown designer, and she’s doing extra work now because she knows that she won’t be able to, later.
Desiree says: “I’ve been putting in the work.”
Chris says that he’s been doing what he can to be helpful during this time.
“I’ve jumped back into it,” Chris tells Us Weekly.
By “it,” he means activities around the house.
Chris says: “I cook and let Des relax as much as she can.”
That’s good! Though we’re sure that Chris is not suggesting that he normally doesn’t do things around the house and leaves it to Desiree.
Desiree and Chris also reveal what some of her current cravings are. Pregnancy cravings can be a little odd.
The couple reveals that Desiree has a recent hankering for “Italian sandwiches and vinegar.”
You know what? We’ve heard stranger things. The placenta makes all sorts of demands on the mother’s body by introducing its own hormones into the bloodstream. Sandwiches and vinegar is, all things considered, pretty mild.
