George H.W. Bush Gets HUGE Ovation For Super Bowl Coin Toss

During his ill-fated run for the presidency, Jeb Bush referred to his father, former President George H.W. Bush, as the greatest man alive.

The 2016 election obviously didn"t turn out the way his family had hoped, but judging by the reaction his old man got at Super Bowl LI?

Jeb! hit the nail on the head with that statement.

George and former First Lady Barbara Bush received a massive ovation as they oversaw the coin toss at the big game Sunday night.

The former president, 92, wore a suit with no tie, while his wife of 71 years, 91, donned a blue blouse with a red scarf and beige slacks.

It marked the first public event since the couple – based in Houston, the host of the Super Bowl – was hospitalized within days of each other.

George went home from the hospital last week after being treated for pneumonia. He had been at Houston Methodist Hospital since January 15.

After experiencing shortness of breath, he was later admitted to the ICU to address an acute respiratory problem stemming from pneumonia.

Bush’s wife was admitted to the same hospital on January 18 as a “precaution." Her doctors later said she was suffering from bronchitis.

The hospitalizations forced the couple to miss President Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, though they wished him the best.

Last night, the entire nation saluted the best.

The 41st President of the U.S. was taken to the midfield for the coin toss on a wheelchair while his wife rode alongside him on a golf cart.

The Bushes were greeted with a well-deserved ovation so loud, the game"s referee struggled to be heard during the opening ceremony.

The winner of the coin toss? America. And The Falcons, who went on to lose a second coin toss, and the game in overtime, hours later.
