Luis Mendez Fires Back at Ex Molly Hopkins: She Used Me, Too!!

Luis Mendez’s 90 Day Fiance marriage may not have worked out, but the dude has remarried just months after his divorce.

His ex Molly Hopkins says this is proof that he was just using her.

Now, Luis is hitting back — saying that she was using him, too.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Luis Mendez fired back after his ex-wife claimed that he was just using her to get tot he United States.

“You know something?” Luis begins his statement.

You can tell from his phrasing that he is feeling a little hot under the collar about the accusation.

He says that it was Molly who was using him.

“[Molly] only took me here to get fame for her business,” Luis claims.

Molly has a lingerie business and has eagerly promoted it on social media during her time on 90 Day Fiance.

Luis claims that their marriage was never about him.

“She never wanted to give me the opportunity to get my papers,” Luis accuses.

Luis then repeats himself for emphasis: “Never.”

Interestingly, that is not the same thing as a denial that he just wanted to come to America.

Luis Mendez remarried in September, and made headlines this month when the world learned of it.

He has not revealed the name of his new bride, but has gushed about how in love he is with her.

His divorce from Molly was finalized on May 4 of this year.

Some may find it suspicious that he did not immediately defend himself by saying that he married Molly because he was “in love.”

Keep in mind that English is a second language for him, and also that his romance with Molly ended very poorly.

It’s understandable that feelings that she tried to sabotage his status in America would come to mind.

Molly spoke out about Luis’ marriage just one day earlier.

“I feel it clearly shows he was possibly using me and my finances to get here,” Molly accused.

She feels that this is obvious “because our divorce was final in May.”

“So he either already knew [his new wife] and had a plan all along and I’m a fool,” Molly suspects.

“Or we are both fools if she doesn’t know him,” Molly said.

Molly concluded: “Because I met Jeykll in the Dominican [Republic] and got Hyde here, or vice versa. Either way, may it work out because I’m glad he’s gone.”

(As we said at the time, Hyde is always the bad one)

(Yes, this is an actual photo that Luis and Molly took during their relationship)

It may be that Molly and Luis had true feelings for each other, once upon a time.

Then, when it didn’t work out, those feelings of affection turned to resentment and bitterness.

It is also possible that they were both using each other from the start.

Molly got a hot, younger husband and a measure of reality television fame to promote her business.

And Luis, well, he got to come to America.

It’s difficult to tell what went into their marriage to begin with.

Through the fog of anger that led to their divorce, it’s possible that even Molly and Luis themselves are no longer sure of how they used to feel.

It does seem safe to say that they’re both happy to be out of this toxic relationship.

Maybe Luis’ new marriage will work out better than his old one.

Luis Mendez is Married Again; See How Molly Hopkins Reacts!

After a tumultuous relationship, 90 Day Fiance stars Luis Mendez and Molly Hopkins got a divorce earlier this year.

Now, wedding photos have surfaced and Luis has confirmed that he has remarried.

Molly also saw those photos, and she has a lot to say about it.

Earlier this year, Luis Mendez and Molly Hopkins finalized their divorce.

It was May 4, in fact — Star Wars Day.

Now, just over five months later, Luis has not only moved on — he has gotten married.

No, he didn’t get back with Molly.

Yes, Luis has confirmed that he tied the knot (again).

And also yes, there are photos, courtesy of the Instagram account @90dayfiance_.

Luis spoke to In Touch to confirm things.

“Yes, I did get married,” Luis affirms.

“That was my wedding [on] Sept. 19,” he says.

There, he is referring to some earlier and much vaguer photos of him wearing a tux at what people had assumed was a friend’s wedding.

“I love this girl so much,” Luis gushes. “She is so amazing.”

That is so sweet!

So, what does Molly Hopkins, his very recent ex-wife, think of all of this?

“I have no contact with her,” Luis says.

Luis explains: “I just want to be happy.”

Where Molly is concerned, he says: “I don’t want to know nothing about it.”

“But if she wants to congratulate me,” Luis adds. “It’s okay.”

Molly did address Luis’ marriage on Instagram Live. We don’t know that we’d call her message congratulatory, however.

“Oh yeah,” Molly says. “For all of you who care or who wanted to talk junk about me, um, yeah I totally got used, but it’s all good.”

“Luis got married to a Dominican lady in Jersey, the best I could tell,” Molly explains.

“I saw pictures,” Molly says. “So yeah, he’s married to someone else.”

And Molly, who recently flaunted her weight loss on social media, doesn’t have a high opinion of this new union.

“Oh yeah, he totally married someone,” Molly says. “She looks older than me — from the Dominican [Republic].”

“I just saw the pictures,” Molly continues. “So for all you people that thought that I was crazy…”

“His situation was pretty lovely,” Molly claims. “I mean, we were together for two years, so it’s all good.”

“I know, I just — I feel like I need to redeem myself,” she explains. “Because a lot of people talked so much s–t about me, and I’m not with it.”

Molly then concludes: “But, hey, it’s all good!”

A lot of celebrities like to assure fans that things are all good when reality is otherwise.

We can only hope that Luis’ current marriage is less problematic than his last one.

90 Day Fiance fans were immediately suspicious over the age difference between Molly and Luis.

Some feared that he intended to exploit her for a Green Card.

The actual marriage turned out to be worse than that, and there was even a video that may have shown Molly abusing Luis.

Domestic violence, or even the implication or accusation of it, is absolutely never okay.

We should note that, even if Luis’ new bride is an American citizen, Luis would still have to return to the Dominican Republic and reapply for a K-1 visa.

However, there were suggestions on Instagram earlier this summer that Luis had returned home.

At the time, 90 Day Fiance fans assumed that Luis had been deported. He had been staying with family in New Jersey.

But now, that July visit might be explained if he went back for a couple of weeks in order to prepare for a new marriage.

We do not know enough to confirm that. All that we know for sure is that this looks like one hell of a rebound.

90 Day Fiance: Has Luis Mendez Been Deported?

It’s been a little over a month since 90 Day Fiance saw shocking footage that may have shown Molly Hopkins abusing Luis Mendez during their marriage.

Ever news broke that Molly and Luis are divorcing, and fans have worried that their short marriage would cost Luis his shot at American citizenship.

Unfortunately, Luis has taken to social media to reveal that those worries have been realized.

Over the weekend, former 90 Day Fiance star Luis Mendez shared a photo that, curiously, lacked a location tag.

For ages, he’s been staying with his brothers in New Jersey, and he hasn’t been shy about sharing that data with his followers.

The curious lack of location data prompted one fan to ask, in spanish, if he had been deported.

Luis replied: “Si estoy en DR hace una semana.”

Translated, that means: “Yes, I’ve been in the Dominican Republic for a week now.”

Another follower then asked Luis where he is within the Dominican Republic.

(This follower used the initials RN, as in la Republica Dominicana, which is the country’s name in Spanish — and it’s oddly weird that other languages have other names for each other’s countries)

Luis replied that he is at the capitol.

The Dominican Republic’s capitol is Santo Domingo, which is where Luis was working at a bar when he and Molly first met.

He’s back to square one.

If you’re wondering why his marriage to Molly didn’t automatically warrant citizenship, you should remember that it’s much more complex.

Marriage can put a person on a path to citizenship, but it really just allows them to get a two-year green card — and even then, it’s a conditional card.

Luis was not married long enough to receive one.

Even if he had stayed with Molly long enough for that particular card, he would be at risk of deportation at the end of that two-year period.

Even before the U.S. began implementing anti-immigration policies that shock the world, deporting legal residents and caging children, it is not easy to become a naturalized citizen.

Some suggest that it’s Luis’ own fault that he got deported.

From the beginning, there were people suspicious of why a young man would suddenly become so interested in a woman twice his age that he’d happily uproot his entire life to be with her.

Some suspected that he was a golddigger.

Others suspected that he was just trying to use her to obtain American citizenship.

The tumultuousness of their relationship — which was, at the very least, a verbally toxic and short-lived marriage — proved that marriage, for the right reasons or the wrong reasons, is not always so easy.

Part of the appeal of 90 Day Fiance is that viewers want to see if these relationships can work out.

Cultural differences can be a major factor in the outcome of any relationship. And so can the race to the altar.

As the reality series’ name implies, people with K1 visas have only 90 days to spend in the United States with their intended before they have to either get married or leave.

Viewers also tend to speculate about motives of different spouses. Some non-Americans are eager for citizenship. Some Americans on the show seem to fetishize the idea of a foreign spouse.

Hopefully, Luis will have better luck in love on his next venture.

Molly Hopkins: Caught on Video Abusing Luis Mendez?

Be warned: this video features some upsetting content.

90 Day Fiance couple Molly Hopkins and Luis Mendez are divorcing, and, at one point, it seemed that Luis was accusing Molly of domestic violence.

Now, this very tense video has surfaced. Is this evidence?

90 day fiance couple luis and molly

Molly is from Georgia. Luis is from the Dominican Republic.

The two met in Santo Domingo and fell in love. But they had a falliing out and, despite efforts to make it work, decided to divorce at the beginning of the year.

Later, Luis hinted to followers that there was more going on than a simple parting of the ways.

"If you want to see all about domestic violence soon," Luis teased on his Instagram. "Follow this page. It"s gonna post there."

Now, it appears that cell phone video that Luis may have recorded during his relationship with Molly has surfaced.

The one-minute video appeared on multiple social media outlets, though it is not currently on Luis" actual Instagram page.

The unsung superheroes over at Starcasm did their best to piece together a transcript of the audible parts of this video.

They note that there is some disagreement over whether Luis is saying the word "hate" or "hit" in this video.

That is a … very important difference. We"ll have more discussion of that at the end.

Molly: "Good luck! Oh, you think you’re going to get something from me? Cause you ain’t takin’ s–t from me!"

Luis: "Why you have to …?"

Molly: "You’re not gonna do anything. Where you talk about …"

Not everything that they say is easy to understand. There are portions of the video where the audio is just garbled.

Molly hopkins pouts

Luis: "Why?"

Molly: "You think you’re gonna get s–t? You ain’t gettin’ s–t!"

Luis: "Why you — Why you hate me? Why you hate me? Why you hate me? Why?"

There"s some more audio that is just unintelligible.

Molly: "Good luck with that! Oh, I got money, and I got a lawyer. You’re out. You’re f–king outta here!"

Luis: "Why? Why you hate me? Why you hate me?"

Molly: "Because you know exactly!"

Luis: "That is a bulls–t. That is a bulls–t."

Molly: "You manipulate!"

Luis: "After I left everything for you? Because I …"

He is referring to leaving his home in the Dominican Republic to come to George to be with a significantly older woman.

Luis mendez works out

Molly: "You didn’t leave everything! …it has nothing to do with filming. It has to do with you…how you think you’re gonna stay here"

Molly: "Don’t f–kin’ threaten me. Don’t threaten me…"

Luis: "You know, I did everything because I love you."

Molly: "…piece of s–t. You’re f–king trash"

Yikes.

Molly and luis

Now, quite frankly, with the exchange of those heated words, we feel very confident in saying that these two should not be married.

If someone talks to you that way, they are a toxic influence on your life.

But … while this sounds like verbal and perhaps emotional abuse, was there any domestic violence in this video?

Several times, it seems that Molly is raising her hand. But whether she was trying to strike Luis or simply poiting for emphasis (as many people do while speaking) is not entirely clear.

(In contrast, 90 Day Fiance"s own cameras were there to film it when Anfisa Arkhipchenko struck Jorge Nava, which left little doubt)

Perhaps a courtroom video analyst who has trained for years in these things would have better luck determining if the video is evidence of violence.

Similarly, perhaps some fancy audio tech could help determine whether Luis is saying "hit" or "hate." Hate is toxic, but hitting is domestic violence.

No matter what, the video sure is intense and a little scary.

90 Day Fiance: Molly Hopkins & Luis Mendez Are Divorcing

90 Day Fiance couple sometimes get their happily ever after. Since Molly Hopkins and Luis Mendez beat the odds and got married, it looked like they were home free.

Unfortunately, as we mentioned, Molly and Luis separated a few days after New Year’s Day.

Now, it’s official — Molly has filed for divorce from Luis.

At first, it was a classic boy-meets-girl story.

Almost.

In this case, the “boy” was 26 years old and working in a bar in Santo Domingo.

The “girl” was much older than he and from Georgia in the US.

They met when she was on a trip to the Dominican Republic and they fell for each other.

And they decided to broadcast their story on 90 Day Fiance.

Aside from criticisms over being perceived to be using each other — Molly wanting Luis as a “boy toy” and Luis wanting US citizenship and perhaps Molly’s financial stability — they had other concerns.

The biggest was Molly hoping that Luis would be a good stepfather to her two daughters.

There was also Molly’s shady criminal history. Suffice it to say that her driving records are a little scary.

But apparently they found a way past all of that.

In July of 2017, Molly and Luis got married.

They made it! … Sort of.

Marriages, as we know, aren’t always a guaranteed happily ever after. Far from it, honestly.

Molly and Luis had some sort of spat and parted ways before the 90 Day Fiance Tell All Special … but they reconciled before the special itself aired.

That was not to last forever, though.

On January 5th, the couple separated.

Some fans who learned of the split hoped that they would reconcile. But that was not to be.

Now, Reality Blurb reports that Molly Hopkins filed for divorce from Luis Mendez on January 23rd.

The papers were filed in Georgia, of course. Molly used her married name, Molly Mondez, when doing the filing.

Like most divorces, she cited irreconcilable differences, writing:

“Plaintiff is entitled to a divorce from Defendant in the statutory grounds that the marriage is irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.”

The 42-year-old is keeping their finances separate and hopes that Luis doesn’t make any moves to dispose of any shared marital property that they might possess.

A sad ending to a story that many had hoped would end with a new, happy family.

Luis doesn’t seem to be too broken up about the divorce — he’s nonchalantly posting topless selfies on Instagram and promising fans that he’d be happy to meet them after the divorce is finalized.

He did, however, rant and rave about TLC because he claims that he wasn’t paid for his time on 90 Day Fiance.

It’s been speculated that non-American stars on the show may have to wait to be paid until they have their work visas, for legal reasons.

But Luis declared his threat to sue over it, saying that foreigners were simply used for free labor and discarded like trash. Yikes.

It’s probably safe to say that Luis has some regrets.
