Jessa Duggar Pens Father"s Day Tribute, Reveals Controversial Money-Saving Measures

Yesterday was Father’s Day, and like every year, the day saw countless celebs paying tribute to their pops on social media.

But for all that online love, it’s possible that no one penned a lengthier ode to dear old dad than Jessa Duggar.

Jessa took to her blog to post a list of 101 reasons that she’s grateful for Jim Bob Duggar.

As you might guess, Jesus’ name comes up more times than in the New Testament.

But in addition to the usual endless Bible-thumping, Jessa shares some interesting revelations about the cost-cutting measures necessitated by raising 19 freakin’ kids.

She lists one of the things she’s thankful for as:

“The special times when we went out to eat (yes, we most definitely took advantage of kids-eat-free, the modern day policies of “2 children per paying adult” probably happened because of us??)”

It was clearly meant to be a lighthearted reminiscence, but a lot of commenters on social media have taken it as another indication that the Jim Bob and Michelle had more kids than they were able to support and milked the system as a result.

The Duggars have boasted about taking advantage of loopholes and corporate offers in the past, particularly in the months after  TLC canceled 19 Kids and Counting, thus cutting off the family’s primary means of support.

For instance, back in September, Krispy Kreme offered a free box of donuts to anyone who came into one of their locations dressed like a pirate.

The Duggars put on their seafaring garb and hit up one store for fourteen boxes of donuts.

The comments on the above photo were not kind, as most fans seemed to feel that the older Duggar siblings were effectively teaching the younger ones how to take advantage of the generosity of others.

Perhaps it wouldn’t be such an issue if the family hadn’t repeatedly boasted about getting by without welfare or any other form of public assistance.

As it is, in paying tribute to her father, Jessa may have inadvertently re-ignited a Duggar controversy.
