Joy-Anna & Austin Swap Pre-Wedding "I Love Yous," Side Hugs

As we previously reported, Joy-Anna Duggar threw tradition out the window in some respects when she married Austin Forsyth.

Case in point: The moment when the newlyweds first saw each other on their wedding day is not what many might"ve expected.

“I love you” were the first words Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth exchanged when they saw one another on their wedding day.

That"s certainly appropriate. The surprising part was when.

A majority of couples traditionally opt not to share physical time with another until they exchange their vows at the altar on that day.

The Counting On stars, who wed in front of a packed church full of family and close friends, decided that was just not for them.

It"s hard to be apart for a few hours when you"re in love.

“I love you,” a smiling Joy-Anna, 19, told Austin, 23 at the church in the video below, filmed by TLC before she walked down the aisle.

“You’re so handsome.”

“I can’t believe I get to marry you today,” Austin told his bride-to-be, thinking about the lifelong commitment that he was about to make.

To Forsyth, this day was the culmination of everything he has “dreamed about and prayed about pretty much as long as I can remember."

"I’m so excited to get to spend the rest of my life with Joy,” he said, and as awkward as he seems on camera, there"s no doubt it"s true.

As to what specifically they were looking forward to partaking in most that day, Joy-Anna and Austin both pointed to different moments.

No, neither one said stripping each other naked later that night … though there was a borderline full-frontal hug captured on camera.

We"ll let it slide. The restraint must be agonizing.

“I think my favorite part of the ceremony is going to be saying our vows,” said the younger sister of Jana, Jill, Jessa and Jinger.

The would-be groom, for his part, said “I think my favorite part is probably going to be putting the wedding ring on her finger.”

Joy and Austin, who abided by the physical boundaries throughout their courting that we"ve all come to expect, did acknowledge that.

The first kiss, therefore, was gonna be huge.

“That’s a given,” Austin said with a smile.

After tying the knot, the longtime family friends (15 years they"ve known each other!) embarked on a honeymoon to Geneva, Switzerland.

“We chose Switzerland because we knew that it was very beautiful,” shared Joy-Anna in a recent video from the location.

Speaking of beautiful … watch this clip.

Joy-Anna Duggar Admits to Pre-Wedding Cold Feet!

Last week, Joy-Anna Duggar married Austin Forsyth in one of the massively-attended gala ceremonies that we’ve come to expect from the usually modest Duggars.

Friends since childhood, Joy-Anna and Austin breezed through their courtship, reportedly violating the family’s strict ban on pre-marital physical contact many times along the way.

So it was widely assumed that the young couple had no reservations about their decision to tie the knot.

But now it seems that even a bride as enthusiastic as Joy-Anna isn’t immune to a mild case of the pre-wedding jitters.

Though they were tight-lipped before the ceremony (The Duggars even posted a fake wedding registry for Joy-Anna in order to keep the real date a secret.), Joy-Anna and Austin are now opening up about their final hours as an engaged couple,

In a video shot the night before the wedding and uploaded to the Duggars’ official website today, the Fortsyths are remarkably candid in their comments in expressing their mixed emotions about saying “I do” in the morning.

“I’m sure I’m gonna start getting nervous,” Joy-Anna told fans.

“I think he’s more nervous than I am at this point,” she added, gesturing to Austin.

She added:

“I think I’m gonna be pretty emotional on our wedding day. It’s a lot to commit to someone for the rest of your life.’

Ultimately, however, Joy-Anna and Austin both seemed more eager than anything.

“I think I’m just excited to marry my best friend,” an elated Joy-Anna told the camera.

Joy-Anna being a Duggar, she concluded by promoting the Forsyth’s “wedding special,” which will apparently debut on TLC on June 12.

Nutpial-based narratives are obviously a huge part of the Counting On appeal, but hopefully we’ll just get one episode devoted to Joy-Anna and Austin’s nuptials, instead of an entire season, like we did with Jinger.

As for how the couple is faring in their early days as a married couple, Jim Bob and Michelle say it’s all good in the Forsyth hood:

“Austin and Joy are loving married life!” the family reported on Facebook.

Ryan Edwards: Pre-Wedding Intervention in the Works?

If you watch Teen Mom online, then you’re likely aware of the recent drama surrounding Ryan Edwards’ alleged substance abuse.

This week’s episode saw Maci Bookout breaking down in tears over what she feels is her ex’s potentially deadly downward spiral.

Bookout vented her frustrations over the lack of concern demonstrated by the other members of Edwards’ inner circle, including his parents, Jen and Larry, and his fiancee, Mackenzie Standifer.

Ryan and Mackenzie got engaged back in December of 2016, and they’re scheduled to tie the knot in November.

Initially, Mackenzie seemed to be in denial about Ryan’s drug use.

During this week’s episode she took to social media and slammed fans for their “ignorant” comments about Edwards.

She also fired off a tweet that seemed to be directed squarely at Maci:

“Here’s a thought … maybe instead of making assumptions and tearing people down, you could spend that time praying for us instead,” Standifer wrote.

Now, however, it seems Mackenzie may have done an about-face and finally come to recognize the severity of her fiance’s problem.

She has yet to speak openly about her change of heart, but according to members of her family, action is being taken to ensure that Ryan sobers up before he and Mackenzie exchange vows later this year.

“We’ll get together and talk about it,” Mackenzie’s father, Bob Standifer Jr., recently told Radar Online.

“Mackenzie and Ryan are adults. I won’t talk without them present. Anything that we talk about, we’re all going to sit down together.”

For her part, Mackenzie is reportedly taking part in the effort to convince Ryan to enter rehab, but she’s still not publicly acknowledging that her relationship is anything less than perfect.

“Come talk to me when you’ve walked one damn mile in my shoes. Then see where you’re at. Until then, hush,” she tweeted yesterday.

Hey, as long as she’s finally understanding that her soon-to-be-husband needs help, she can deny whatever she wants to fans.

Watch Teen Mom online to relive the many ups and downs of the life of Ryan Edwards.

Here’s hoping he’s able to find the help he needs.
