Police Solve 25-Year-Old Cold Case With DNA Evidence, Arrest Wedding DJ
A 25-year-old cold case of the horrifying rape and murder of a young teacher has finally, police say, been solved.
The time between Christy Mirack"s murder and this arrest was lengthier than the time between Mirack"s birth and death.
49-year-old Raymond Rowe, a wedding dj known professionally as "DJ Freez," has been taken into custody.
Police in lancaster, Pennsylvania have announced that they have arrested a suspect on DNA evidence.
The 25-year-old murder case went cold in the "90s after police investigated hundreds of individuals tied to her.
At the time, they found nothing.
Now, police have reportedly said that they had never considered Raymond Rowe as a suspect before.
They were able to identify him after a sample from the murder scene matched a sample in a publicly available geneology database.
The (partial) match came from one of Rowe"s relatives, who uploaded to GEDmatch — the same geneology website that helped to lead to the capture of the Golden State Killer.
Police followed up by surveilling Rowe and obtaining a legal DNA sample for a proper match that was untainted by a third party database.
Christy Mirack was a 25-year-old 6th grade teacher at Rohrerstown Elementary School, a Lancaster County, Pennsylvania school.
On December 21, 1992, after Mirack"s roommate left for work, Mirack herself was still preparing for work.
That, police believe, was when her brutal killer struck.
Because she was wearing her jacket and carrying wrapped Christmas presents, investigators believe that she may have been pushed — or dragged, judging by some of the scuff marks — back into her home.
There, she was sexually assaulted. Mirack"s clothes were found displaced — her underwear, pants, and shoes had been removed.
She had also been beaten so severely that her face was said to be unrecognizable. A wooden cutting board was found near her body.
Mirack"s ultimate cause of death was strangulation.
She was found by the principal at her school when she did not appear for work. He arrived at her home and found the door ajar …. and a grisly, tragic scene within.
Since Mirack"s horrifying murder, police say, Rowe has been enjoying his freedom and his life.
As we mentioned, Rowe is a local wedding dj. According to his website, he has rubbed shoulders with all manners of celebrities, including Paris Hilton and Brooke Hogan.
The site also claims that he has worked all around the world.
He also says that he performs as many as 150 weddings and parties every year as "DJ Freez."
Rowe also had a weekly mixshow on a local radio station.
At 49 now, he would have been just months younger that Mirack at the time of her horrific assault and murder.
In a press conference on Monday, Lancaster District Attorney Craig Stedman expressed that the tragedy of Mirack"s murder was compounded by the long wait for justice.
"The killer was at liberty for this brutal crime longer than Christy Mirack was on this earth alive," Stedman told reports. "His apprehension was long overdue."
Rowe was arrested at his home. He is now being held at Lancaster County Prison,
He is charged with one count of criminal homicide and will not be eligible for bail. He may face the death penalty.
Right now, investigators are looking for connections between Rowe and Marick … though with some sexual assaults and murders, the killer and victim never knew each other prior to the crime.

Joy-Anna Duggar Admits to Pre-Wedding Cold Feet!
Last week, Joy-Anna Duggar married Austin Forsyth in one of the massively-attended gala ceremonies that we’ve come to expect from the usually modest Duggars.
Friends since childhood, Joy-Anna and Austin breezed through their courtship, reportedly violating the family’s strict ban on pre-marital physical contact many times along the way.
So it was widely assumed that the young couple had no reservations about their decision to tie the knot.
But now it seems that even a bride as enthusiastic as Joy-Anna isn’t immune to a mild case of the pre-wedding jitters.
Though they were tight-lipped before the ceremony (The Duggars even posted a fake wedding registry for Joy-Anna in order to keep the real date a secret.), Joy-Anna and Austin are now opening up about their final hours as an engaged couple,
In a video shot the night before the wedding and uploaded to the Duggars’ official website today, the Fortsyths are remarkably candid in their comments in expressing their mixed emotions about saying “I do” in the morning.
“I’m sure I’m gonna start getting nervous,” Joy-Anna told fans.
“I think he’s more nervous than I am at this point,” she added, gesturing to Austin.
She added:
“I think I’m gonna be pretty emotional on our wedding day. It’s a lot to commit to someone for the rest of your life.’
Ultimately, however, Joy-Anna and Austin both seemed more eager than anything.
“I think I’m just excited to marry my best friend,” an elated Joy-Anna told the camera.
Joy-Anna being a Duggar, she concluded by promoting the Forsyth’s “wedding special,” which will apparently debut on TLC on June 12.
Nutpial-based narratives are obviously a huge part of the Counting On appeal, but hopefully we’ll just get one episode devoted to Joy-Anna and Austin’s nuptials, instead of an entire season, like we did with Jinger.
As for how the couple is faring in their early days as a married couple, Jim Bob and Michelle say it’s all good in the Forsyth hood:
“Austin and Joy are loving married life!” the family reported on Facebook.

Meghan Markle: Getting Cold Feet About Marrying Prince Harry?!
To hear the British tabloids tell it, you’d think the whole thing is a foregone conclusion:
Prince Harry will marry Meghan Markle at some point, they’ve been telling us. It’s just a matter of when.
The press has cast the Suits actress in the role of Waity Kate 2.0, a princess-in-the-making who’s only missing that all-important ring.
But what if Meghan isn’t so sure about giving up her life in the States and the career she worked so hard for, just to spend the rest of her days as a figurehead’s bride?
Yes, we know it’s tough to imagine anyone passing up a shot at becoming royalty, especially someone who’s most famous for a part on a long-running series that receives most of its ratings from being left on in hospital waiting rooms.
But there are reports that Meghan is in the midst of a career renaissance as a result of her relationship with Harry
According to Radar Online, Markle is being offered the sort of scripts that she spent most of her career dreaming about.
Specifically, the site claims that filmmakers Tyler Perry and Lee Daniels have planned a series of “leading lady” roles that they feel would take her career to the next level.
Apparently, this isn’t Madea Learns About Flag Day stuff, but meaty, dramatic roles that could finally give the Meghan the opportunity to show off her chops.
“Meghan knows there’s no going back once the engagement’s announced so to have these incredible scripts land on her plate has really upset the apple cart,” a source tells Radar.
“She’s worked for all her life trying to succeed as an actress and getting these plum roles offered to her has unsettled things.”
Apple carts! Plum roles! The whole situation is both difficult and deliciously fruit-flavored.
The news comes just as several British tabloids announced that a Harry-Meghan engagement announcement should be coming any day now.
Is it possible that Meghan would turn down an actual prince in order to maintain her independence?
If so, forget about the rinky-dink Tyler Perry stuff.
Meghan needs to sell her life story to an especially woke bunch Disney animators ASAP.

Meghan Markle: Getting the Cold Shoulder From Prince Harry in Jamaica?
As we reported last week, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are in Jamaica for the wedding of Harry’s friend and former wingman, Tom “Skippy” Inskip.
Normally, this would be the sort of trip where Harry’s pals would embarrass him by sharing stories of his youthful antics, but the man’s indiscretions already been well-covered by the UK tabloids.
Plus, Harry probably reserves the right to have his buddies beheaded if they piss him off.
Anyway, by most accounts, all is going well with the Prince and the Suits star.
In fact, some claim that Harry and Meghan are secretly engaged and already planning a wedding.
Harry and Meghan haven’t made many public appearances together, so some wedding quests were expecting major PDA as the couple’s way of sending a message that they are in fact dating, and are becoming quite serious in their relationship.
However, it seems the onlookers were disappointed by what appeared to be an somewhat irritable Harry giving Meghan the brush-off.
In photos from the wedding Harry does seem a bit standoffish, but it can be difficult to read body language from still photos.
Fortunately, several guests have refuted the interpretation of the pics, claiming that Harry and Meg were clearly head-over-heels for one another:
“Harry and Meghan seem very much in love,” one source tells People.
“It just feels very natural for them both. It feels easy — like they’ve known each other for a long time.”
“Meghan and Harry were kissing each other constantly and danced with each other. Everyone was very drunk,” a different insider tells The Sun.
That same source claims that at one point, Harry’s dance moves created a minor catastrophe.
“He was going backwards when he banged into a waitress carrying a tray of drinks and sent them flying,” the tipster claims.
“Harry gasped, looked shocked and put his hands on the waitress’s shoulders and apologized.
So there you have it:
Harry dances about as well as you would expect, and despite appearances to the contrary, he and Mag are doing quite well.
Of course, they probably wouldn’t give it away if they were having problems.
After all, Meghan is an actress.
At least we assume she is.
We’re told that Suits is a legal drama and not a reality show that takes place inside a Men’s Wearhouse, as we’d previously thought.
Frankly, we’re just too lazy to look it up.
