Skip Bayless Says Belichick "Sold Out" Tom Brady then Sabotaged Pats

Skip Bayless says reports of Patriots infighting are VERY real — claiming Bill Belichick “sold out” Tom Brady and then sabotaged the organization … and it’s all over Jimmy Garoppolo.  “I think Belichick sold him out and wanted to give…

Khloe Kardashian: Has a Kardashian Curse Sabotaged Tristan Thompson"s Team?

Some people believe that Khloe Kardashian is cursed. And no, that’s not some horrible euphemism for Khloe’s pregnancy.

It sounds silly enough to us, but it’s enough for fans of Tristan Thompson’s sports team to urge him to break it off with his soon-to-be baby mama.

Do you believe in the Kardashian Curse?

Khloe and Tristan have been an item for a while now.

Khloe is, of course, a reality star.

Tristan Thompson is a basketball player. (Basketball being the kind of sportsball where the players are tall and the ball is orange)

Some fans have noted that Khloe is

Earlier this year, someone — apparently a Cleveland Cavaliers fan — tweeted their response to an article that suggested that Khloe and Tristan might wed, writing:

“Nah fam @khloekardashian we good on yalls curse.”

Khloe saw the tweet and decided to clap back:

“Only stupid people believe stupid rumors.”

We wouldn’t really characterize a “curse” as a rumor. A superstition, perhaps? Or a misogynist way to place the blame for male failures at the feet of a woman.

Khloe says that she’s not responsible.

“Please don’t give me that much power.”

Please do not give Khloe any kind of power, folks.

And then Khloe got a little confrontational:

“Lol fool that you are.”

Random tweeters aren’t the only ones who seem to sincerely believe that Khloe Kardashian represents some malediction that effects Tristan’s entire basketball team.

Also, this year, a sports fan created a petition for Tristan to end his relationship with Khloe.

According to Sports Illustrated, the petition read:

“It is almost that time of year again — where we prepare for our long trek back to the NBA Finals.”

Our research tells us that there are some major basketball events during the spring, making us wonder if 2018 will see a similar petition to this one.

“However, this year as the defending champs, we’ve been in sort of a funk.”

That happens to anyone, as individuals or as a group.

All of that was perfectly rational, right up until:

“And it all has to do with the Kardashian Curse.”

The petition’s text continues:

“One of our most beloved athletes, Tristan Thompson, has taken it upon himself to date Khloe Kardashian and by doing so, invited the curse into Cleveland.”

That’s quite the claim.

“The curse has been ruthless to the Cleveland Cavaliers.”

Perhaps, their players haven’t been doing so well. Or opposing teams’ players have been doing very well.

Or, you know, a curse.

“The curse is nothing new however — it has plagued professional athletes such as James Harden, Lamar Odom, Kris Humphries, and now our beloved TT.”

Doesn’t every team on the planet have their good days and bad days, though?

We don’t see the Kardashians as wielding, um, supernatural power over athletic competitions. Which would be a weird power to have.

“This is no coincidence. This is the Kardashian Curse in play. And it needs to end now.”

Obviously, that petition was a little tongue-in-cheek. We hope.

Even if you believe in curses — and we won’t tell you what to believe in that regard — surely there would have to be an actual reason for the curse.

Like, if this were all based on the belief that Khloe stole a rock from a sacred mountain and now her lovers are cursed to professional failure, we’d be like “okay.”

Not necessarily believing in that cause-and-effect, but we’d understand the story that the person was telling.

Similarly, if somebody argued that Khloe or Tristan had been actively cursed by someone — maybe cursed by Azealia Banks, for example — we’d get it.

Even so, we don’t buy that Khloe’s cursed. She’s rich and healthy and pregnant with her lover’s child.

Besides, nobody who looks this good modeling fishnets while pregnant could be cursed, right?

Matt Lauer Replacement: Sabotaged by... You-Know-Who!

Matt Lauer is out.

But who is in?!?

On the heels of NBC axing Lauer from his co-hosting gig on The Today Show, in the wake of VERY disturbing sexual misconduct allegations, questions are starting to go from this:

What the Hell is wrong with Matt Lauer?!?

To this:

Who will replace Matt Lauer?

Some have naturally speculated that Megyn Kelly will swoop in and take Lauer’s seat alongside Savannah Gurthrie, considering how much NBC is paying her each year.

But she only just started her own hour on Today.

Would the network really move her so quickly?

If not Kelly, however, it really is unclear just who will take over for Lauer, which is largely because Lauer himself has served as a deterrent to potential future anchors.

Remember: these sexual assault charges are shocking.

But there’s been talk of Lauer getting fired for years now, due to his huge contract, the show’s faltering ratings and his perceived bad attitude.

Lauer was aware of these rumors.

In response, he went out of his way to ensure such reporters as David Gregory, Josh Elliott and Billy Bush were unprepared to sit in his chair.

“Matt killed off, in their infancy, every man who could succeed him at the time that he was ready to hang it up,” an insider tells Page Six.

“So there’s nobody to take his place. And now NBC is paying the price.”

Hoda Kotb announced that Lauer was fired early last week, but she’s entrenched with Kathie Lee Giffored on their own hour of Today.

No one takes her seriously as a candidate.

Reportedly, Craig Melvin, who serves as a host on Weekend Today, is being strongly considered for the job of Lauer’s replacement.

However, one network executive doesn’t think he’s suitable.

“I couldn’t pick him out of a lineup,” this executive tells The New York Post.

At the moment, Willie Geist probably leads the pack. He’ll get the job, if we had to guess right now.

Ironically, meanwhile, ratings for Today have shot up in the wake of Lauer’s firing.

We guess this isn’t all that stunning, with folks wanting to tune in and see how the series is handling his dismissal.

To the network’s credit, Today has been covering the Lauer debacle just like any news story. It’s not holding anything back just because it is involved in the case.

And to whomever does replace Lauer, there’s no reason to be nervous:

Lauer may have raped someone.

In other words: he’s set the bar VERY low.

You’ll do fine.

Mariah Carey on New Year"s Eve Debacle: S--t Happens (and Producers Sabotaged Me)!

Mariah Carey is shaking off her failed New Year’s Eve performance, while her team is insinuating that she was set up to fail by producers.

By now, you’ve likely seen or at least heard about the music icon’s disastrous night in Times Square on Saturday night in NYC:

Carey failed to complete her planned performances for Ryan Seacrest’s annual New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special, baffling viewers nationwide.

Her reaction, in her own words:

S–t happens, people!

“Have a happy and healthy new year everybody! Here’s to making more headlines in 2017,” she added in a brief message to her Twitter fans.

Severe audio issues 86’d the performance, in which she was supposed to sing “Emotion,” “We Belong Together” and “Auld Lang Syne.”

Throughout the live gig, Carey told the crowd she couldn’t hear through her earpiece, telling them she was still “trying to be a good sport.”

“We didn’t have a [sound]check for this song, so we’ll just say it went to number one,” she said, adding that the track was missing “some of the vocals.”

“It is what it is.”

Carey ended her time on stage, a fitting conclusion to the year that was, by saying, “That was … amazing” and “it just don’t get any better.”

A rep for ABC had no comment when asked what the deal was, while a publicist for Dick Clark Productions was not immediately available.

Likely getting too hammered or too busy reading the Twitter comments, or both, as these were the national pastimes on Saturday night.

Singer Josh Groban notably tweeted, “Any time one of the greatest voices of my generation lip syncs an angel loses its wings.”

He didn’t name names, but it was obvious who he was referring to, and after getting some less-than favorable responses, he apologized.

Groban nixed the tweet and wrote:

“Deleted my tweets about a certain performance because it was made in humor but taken way more meanly than intended. Not out to diss artist.”

Jennifer Lopez also addressed the Carey disaster on social media, by liking a comment on Power 106 KMEL Big Von’s Instagram page.

Big Von shared a link to the performance and wrote, “Ever seen an accident you couldn’t take your eyes away from? That was her tonight!”

Fans noticed that one of the Likes on that comment is from none other than Lopez’s official account. Subtle shade, but shade nonetheless.

Sources in Carey’s camp, meanwhile, told TMZ and Billboard that believe she was “sabotaged” and that “production set her up to fail.”

Anyone buying that?

Dick Clark Productions sure as heck isn’t, and released the following statement about Mariah’s performance in response to those stories:

As the premier producer of live television events for nearly 50 years, we pride ourselves on our reputation and long-standing relationships with artists.

To suggest that DCP, as producer of music shows including the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and Academy of Country Music Awards, would ever intentionally compromise the success of any artist is defamatory, outrageous and frankly absurd.

The production company seemingly acknowledged that the issues faced by the 46-year-old singer were not her fault … or the company’s:

In very rare instances there are of course technical errors that can occur with live television.

However, an initial investigation has indicated that DCP had no involvement in the challenges associated with Ms. Carey’s New Year’s Eve performance.

We want to be clear that we have the utmost respect for Ms. Carey as an artist and acknowledge her tremendous accomplishments in the industry.

What do you make of all this, THGers? Obviously, we may never know what happened that night in Times Square, but we can tell you this:

It was the most 2016 thing ever.
