Ed Sheeran Grammy Performance: Taking it Back to His Roots
Ed Sheeran was a last-minute addition to the 2017 Grammy Awards" list of performers, but his effort Sunday night looked … effortless.
Not in the sense that Ed didn"t put in the effort, but the British singer-songwriter has a way of making it look easy on stage sometimes.
Sheeran, 25, took the Grammy stage, having announced he was doing so just seven hours earlier, for a smooth, stripped-down performance.
His loop-pedal roots are what launched Ed"s popularity, and he showed that Sunday night with a rendition of "Shape of You."
It was a performance profound in its simplicity.
An acoustic guitar, a keyboard and a couple of mics (which worked, unlike with Lady Gaga and Metallica) were all he used last night.
No in-ear monitors were employed, even.
Ed is known for his casual style fashion-wise as well as personally and musically, and was true to that as well at the Grammys.
Sporting a simple black t-shirt and jeans, he crushed the performance … and in the process, he unwittingly crashed a website.
How did he pull that off, you ask?
Sheeran"s pedal board of choice, the Chewie II Monsta Looper, caused fascination among the millions of music fans tuning in to watch.
As such, an influx of web traffic to Equipboard (dot) com caused the online database of music gear to display a 502 error after Ed played.
Without getting too technical, the site got an arse-load of traffic thanks to Sheeran, and its servers became overloaded with the demand.
Even more awesome considering that not even 24 hours prior, he was the musical guest performing on Saturday Night Live in NYC.
Three thousand miles away.

Ed Sheeran: Secretly MARRIED?!
Anyone who’s heard Ed Sheeran’s music knows that the guy wears his heart on his sleeve.
When it comes to his actual love life, however, it seems like the British balladeer may be keeping some big news on the down-low.
It’s being widely reported that Ed may have recently married girlfriend, the hilariously made-up-sounding Cherry Seaborn, in an extremely low-key ceremony.
The speculation seems to be based on just three clues.
First, we have this photo, posted earlier this week in which Ed seems to be rocking a ring on his commitment finger.
Then there’s this pic, posted by Taylor Swift to celebrate her friend Abigail Anderson’s engagement.
‘Love actually is all around.’ Congratulations guys,” Taylor captioned the photo in an apparent reference to Love Actually, which is a movie someone probably forced you to sit through at some point.
Now if you look in the background, you can see that Ed and Cherry are sharing a moment under a banner congratulating them on their first anniversary.
Who really forces a newly-engaged couple to share the spotligh simply because they accomplished the feat of not breaking up for a full orbit around the sun?
Well, if your answer is “people who belong to Taylor Swift’s squad” then you’re right, but it would be also be good way to host a wedding reception on the down-low.
Then there’s the news that Ed plans to take a short hiatus from music.
It was originally thought to be a result of his hectic touring schedule and his frustrations over a recent $ 20 million lawsuit.
But now, fans think he may be taking time to focus on married life.
It may be a while before we know for sure but the news will eventually come out via the traditional method:

Ed Sheeran Just Got Sued. For $20 MILLION.
Ed Sheeran may need to shell out a $ hit ton of money for singing about a simple photograph.
The English musician, who is very good friends with Taylor Swift, is reportedly being sued for a whopping $ 20 million dollars over his track “Photograph,” according to Billboard.
Songwriters Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard, along with the duo’s publishing company, allege the song borrows heavily (and illegally) from their single, “Amazing.”
They wrote and produced that song before it was released as 2010 X Factor champion Matt Cardle.
Harrington and Leonard have also written hits for some of the industry’s biggest names, including Kylie Minogue.
The plaintiffs have hired attorney Richard Busch to help build their case; he was involved in the copyright lawsuit between Marvin Gaye’s family and Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams over the song “Blurred Lines.”
Those artists lost that case and were ordered to pay $ 7.4 million after a jury found they plagiarized the Motown great’s “Got to Give It Up.”
According to legal documents, “Photograph” is too similar to the original composition of “Amazing.”
The plaintiffs contend that the two songs share 39 identical notes.
A portion of the lawsuit reads as follows:
The songs’ similarities reach the very essence of the work. The similarities go beyond substantial, which is itself sufficient to establish copyright infringement, and are in fact striking.
The similarity of words, vocal style, vocal melody, melody, and rhythm are clear indicators, among other things, that ‘Photograph’ copies ‘Amazing.’
Sheeran banked over $ 20 million from the single, with the writers plaintiffs reportedly seeking statutory damages and an injunction or royalty agreement.

This is absolutely AH-Mazing!
Aside from Tom Hanks swinging by to ponder the big questions with Stephen Colbert, The Late Show had another highlight Wednesday night!
Ed Sheeran was the musical guest and he once again came through and nailed it.

But this wasn’t any regular performance. Instead of singing a song off of his latest album, the Thinking Out Loud singer opted to perform the Bill Withers hit Ain’t No Sunshine.

Beyonce and Ed Sheeran Are "Drunk in Love" in NYC
It"s safe to say we did not see this duet between Beyonce and Ed Sheeran coming.
And now it"s safe to say we can"t get enough of it.
On Saturday, September 26, the soulful British star joined Queen Bey on stage at the 2015 Global Citizen Festival to give one of her classic tracks an acoustic breakdown.
Decked out in the sort of nude bodysuit Kim Kardashian would typically wear (along with thigh-high boots), Beyonce sang the strongly sexual single next to a plaid-shirt-wearing Sheeran, who strummed along his guitar.
The rendition took place in Central Park, in front of a crowd that ate up every last note. See for yourself here.

Watch Beyonce And Ed Sheeran Perform Drunk In Love Together At The Global Citizen Festival!
This is giving us life right now!!
At the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday night, Beyonce and Ed Sheeran came together for a performance of Drunk In Love that is AH-mazing!!
The slowed down acoustic version of the song brought Queen Bey’s incredible vocals to the forefront, and that’s just the best thing in the world!
