Supergirl Season 1 Episode 2 Recap: #TerribleGirl Alert!
The action on Supergirl Season 1 Episode 2 picked up a week after Kara donned her tights and cape, as television’s new heroine realized Kermit the Frog was right all along.
Forget being green, however. It isn’t easy being super.
Consider Kara’s disastrous attempt to rescue an oil tanker and her humorous response to the public backlash:
“I went from superhero to eco-terrorist in a single bound!
Cat Grant even dubbed this other Caped Crusader “#TerribleGirl,” while Kara recruited Winn and James to assist her in starting small and working her way up.
Viewers were then treated to an enjoyable montage of Kara taking on smaller issues, while also considering larger problems such as the way bullets bounce off of her and hit strangers
Moreover, you can’t just toss down an ambulance. It must be eased to the ground.
These are the kinds of obstacles most of don’t worry about on a daily basis.
This is easily the best part of the series so far, the light tone and the way it pays attention to detail.
Heck, it even gets political in its own way, with Cat telling Kara that Supergirl needs to “calm the Hell down” and explaining her perceived differences between a super MAN and a super WOMAN.
Alex, meanwhile, came up with her own sharp points about her sibling’s ability to hold her own via a sparring room, one tricked out with strength-sapping “kryptonite emitters.”
For what purpose? Because Earth’s proximity to the sun does not teach close-quarters combat technique.
This training helped later on when Kara was reunited with her aunt, General Astria.
The latter warned Kara that she should not align herself with humans, proceeding to pummel her niece until Supergirl fought smarter and also Hank stabbed Astria with a kryptonite knife. That definitely helped.
Toward the end of the episode, James and Kara engaged in a heart-to-heart about his sad legacy as “the friend of someone who is making a difference,” while Kara granted Cat’s wish for an interview.
Finally, Peter Facinelli debuted as Maxwell Lord, a mogul who isn’t a fa of Supergirl bestowing upon National City the “400 percent increase in maintenance” and Kara figured out Cat’s room temperate latte problem.
Thanks, heat vision!!!!

Supergirl Season 1 Episode 1: Did It Soar?
Move over, Arrow. Take a seat, The Flash. Excuse her, all Legends of Tomorrow.
But Supergirl would like a seat at the superhero table on the small screen.
After months of hype, CBS debuted Melissa Benoist in the title role of this eagerly-awaited drama on Monday night, airing Supergirl Season 1 Episode 1 and introducing viewers to Kara Zor-El in the process.
She’s the cousin of Superman and she was sent to Earth by her parents when she was 12 years old.
Raised by her human foster sister, Kara spent the next 12 years of her life concealing her impressive powers… but we saw on the premiere that she’s now ready to make like her very famous other relative.
When we meet Kara, she’s living in National City and working as an assistant to Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant.
She’s also working alongside photographer James Olden (yes, James), who Grant just hired away from The Daily Planet.
Soon enough, Kara gets enlisted by the head of a secret agency that would like her assistance in saving the world. So much for keeping those super powers at bay, huh?
There’s work to be done… but there’s also work to be done.
So Kara must find a way to balance her destiny of crime-fighting with her menial daily jobs at the office, along with her very human relationships.
Is she up to all these tasks?
And are you up to finding out?
What did you think of Supergirl? Of Benoist in the main role? Of its mix of action, drama and humor?

Jeb Bush Thinks Supergirl is Super "Hot"
Throughout this Presidential campaign, Donald Trump has accused Jeb Bush of being a "low energy" candidate. He has said this over and over and over again.
But Bush has apparently been saving all his enthusiasm for a question at Libre Forum in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Asked by a member of the audience for his favorite superhero, Bush veered awya from anyone in the Marvel universe and turned his attention instead to the small screen.
In the most awkward way possible.
"Supergirl is on TV. I saw that when I was working out this morning," Bush replied. "She looked pretty hot. I don’t know what channel it’s on, but I’m looking forward to that."
Yes, Supergirl premieres this Monday on CBS.
The title character is played by Melissa Benoist, previously best known for her role on Glee.
"That will make news," Bush laughed after giving his answer.
He"s right, though maybe not the kind of news Bush wants to make, considering Benoist is 27 years old and Bush is 62 years old.
But Jeb could use all the attention he can get these days, considering he"s somehow losing in the polls to both Donald Trump and Ben Carson.
As incredible as it may have once seemed, he may need a superheroic boost of his own in order to get back in the race for President in 2016.
As for which small screen superheroes we think are the hottest? Follow the preceding link for the answer!
