Tonita Castro Dies; Veteran Actress Was 63

Tonita Castro, a veteran actress best known of late for her role in a number of network sitcoms, lost her battle with stomach cancer on Sunday and passed away.

She was 63 years old.

“She was a self-made woman in the industry,” Nikkolas Rey, her agent of over a decade, told The Hollywood Reporter.

“She had a gift of comedy. She would make a joke about anything.”

Castro most recently appeared in an episode of Life in Pieces on CBS.

She’s pictured above alongside Matthew Perry in Go On and also had roles on Dads and The Grinder.

The actress moved to the United States from Mexico in the late 1970s and started her career in radio.

She remained there all the way until 2005 when she made the transition to acting.

Prior to her recurring gig on Go On, Castro appeared on such series as Dexter, Southland, Glee, Two and a Half Men, The Sarah Silverman Program, Raising Hope, Awkward and The League.

She had a very impressive resume overall, having also appeared in the movies Funny People and Imagine That in 2009.

“She was doing the best stuff of her career  – she was getting offers. It was a big loss for me and so many people who loved her,” Rey says.

“The most important thing about her was she was so wonderful and authentic and energetic. She was always positive.”

Castro is survived by her husband.

We send her friends and loved ones our condolences.

Domino"s Just Saved the Life of its Most Loyal Customer

Oh, yes, Domino’s just did.

The pizza chain may not be known for making very good pizza, but at least one establishment can now be known for having the best possible customer service any restaurant can have.

Here’s why:

According to Oregon Live, Tracey Hamblen – the assistant  manager of a Domino’s in Salem – recently dialed 911 after she had not heard from Kirk Alexander in 11 days.

What made this so unusual?

Alexander had been more than just a regular customer at the establishment.

He had been ordering pizza from the joint on a nearly daily basis for over a decade.

Concerned over why Alexander had suddenly gone quiet, Hamblen went over to Alexander’s house personally.

The lights were on a television was on, but no one answered the door. She then called Alexander and got his voicemail.

This is when Hamblen called the authorities.

From there, Marion County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the residence, where they heard a man calling for assistance and found Alexander suffering from medical problems that could have ended his life, said Lt. Chris Baldridge, sheriff’s office spokesman.

Fortunately, medical personnel were able to intervene in time and, as of late Monday morning, Alexander was in stable condition at Salem Hospital.

Jenny Seiber, another assistance manager, said the very loyal customer of the Silverton Road Northeast store sometimes gets pasta… sometimes pizza… sometimes sandwiches… sometimes wings.

She described Alexander as friendly, nice and sort of quiet; and added Domino’s employees were “worried a little bit” after not hearing from him.

Taylor Swift Facing Squad Problems as Friends Tire of Diva Antics: Report

At this point Taylor Swift’s loyal “squad” of famous gal pals is as much a part of her public image as her turbulent love life used to be.

It may seem that few things could be less controversial than a group of successful young women who like to party together and support one another, but the media has taken a special interest in Swift’s clique.

There have been rumors that Taylor’s squad must abide by a strict set of rules.

Like lapsed Scientologists, former squad affiliates have gone to the press, claiming that Taylor only accepts the rich and beautiful into her elite group of friends.

Now, there are reports that a full-blown Tay mutiny is going down, as the ladies of the squad have grown sick of Taylor’s diva antics.

It seems the latest round of problems began when Taylor gave an interview to Vogue during a friend’s wedding – a wedding at which she happened to be the maid of honor.

For obvious reasons, her decision didn’t sit well with several squad members.

“Even her best friends’ have started making fun of [Taylor] behind her back because they’re sick of her controlling ways,” a source close to the situation tells OK! magazine.

One insider says Swift has embraced her inner Regina George and has started putting the other girls down as part of her “self-obsessed queen bee” routine.

This is far from the first time that Taylor has faced squad trouble, but the insider says her famous friends have finally had enough.

We’re curious to see what Taylor would do socially if her squad unravels.

She could just, ya know – try not making a big deal out of her personal life for once, but that seems unlikely.

We’re guessing the news of a Calvin Harris proposal will be dropping any day now.
