Jessica Simpson Wants a Vegas Residency: I"m Still a Singer, Dammit!

When you hear the name Jessica Simpson, you might think of a successful businesswoman, a beloved social media personality, or even a drunk Home Shopping Network pitchwoman, but you don’t think of a gifted vocalist with incredible stage presence.

If Jess has her way, however, that may soon change.

In Touch is reporting that after seeing how successful (and lucrative) Britney Spears’ Vegas residency has been, Jess is convinced that Sin City is the is the place for her.

“She’s hell-bent on landing a Vegas residency,” says one insider.

“With state-of-the art technology and backdrops paired with her sex appeal, she thinks she can give the other headliners a run for their money.”

Yes, it seems even Jess is aware that she’ll need to pull out all the stops in order to compete Brit and company.

Perhaps she can get a hologram of Nick Lachey to duet on some of her earlier hits?

So she has no delusions about her talent, but she may have a slightly over-inflated ego when it comes to her place in show business lore:

“After 20 years in the music business, Jess is excited to follow her dreams and become a Vegas legend,” says the source.

A Vegas legend, eh?

Jess might technically still be in show business, but at this point, she’s more famous for posting racy Instagram pics with her husband than for anything she ever sang.

We’ll never forget Jessica’s bikini photos, but we have a hard time remembering the lyrics to …

What’s that song she sang? Something about Duff beer? Ill-fitting leather gloves?

We might have her confused with some other Simpsons.

Anyway, the point is, the folks who would hire Jess to sing in their casino probably already know what she doesn’t:

No one is shelling out big bucks to see Jessica Simpson croon her non-existent catalog of hits.

Gordie Howe Dies; NHL Legend Was 88

Gordie Howe, an NHL legend who earned the nickname “Mr. Hockey” during his iconic playing career, died on Friday after a lengthy battle with various health issues.

He was 88 years old.

The Detroit Red Wings have confirmed this sad news.

Howe holds NHL records for most games (1,767) and seasons (26); he also ranks second on the career goals list with 801, just a shade shy of Wayne Gretzky’s 894.

The Hall of Famer played on four Stanley Cup championship teams in Detroit during a 25-year run that started in 1946.

He retired from hockey for good when he was 52 years old.

But the last few years had been a major struggle for Mr. Hockey.

His wife, Colleen, passed away in 2009 and Howe then suffered from bouts of memory loss due to the early stages of dementia.

Howe also fell victim to a pair disabling strokes in October 2014.

His family said his health had improved after he underwent a stem-cell treatment as part of a clinical trial in Mexico.

On the whole, Howe’s hockey resume is as impressive as anyone who has ever played the sport.

He won four Stanley Cups… six Hart Trophies… six Art Ross Trophies… played in 23 NHL All-Star Games… and was inducted into Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972.

We send our condolences to his family members, friends and loved ones.

Olivia Mitnick: Cleveland Cavaliers Cheerleader Sports Big Ole" Hickey From Justin Bieber

June 8th was full of highs and lows for Justin Bieber.

After watching the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of the NBA finals, Les Biebs found himself looking for lust, and looking for trouble.

The bad news is that he was roughed up by a displeased fan.

The good news is that he gave a Cleveland Cavaliers cheerleader a hickey!

Mitnick, who reportedly “just” broke up with her firefighter boyfriend, painted the town red with Bieber post-game.

“All the team’s dancers were invited out in fact by Justin. They politely turned him down,” a source told Hollywood Life.

“Olivia wasn’t working that night but she suddenly had a ticket to the game. Everyone was really surprised to see pics of her out with Justin later after the game.

“The next day, her friends say she was showing off a nice sized hickey on her neck. So it looks like she had a fun night.”

@officialbiebernews posted a photo of Bieber out with Mitnick (below), who was wearing the same outfit (black leather jacket, brown dress) in the picture above.

Sources told the site that she and Bieber drank champagne at a club, and later left together.

“He seemed happy and it didn’t appear like he was upset about anything,” another source told the site.

“He was in a great mood. He was with a few friends. Everyone was dancing and having a fun time. This is where all the celebrities and players come.”

Bieber “sweetly escorted” the cheerleader through the mobs of people and “had his hands place on her shoulders” as they made their exit.

Then, they got in the car and….hickey happened.

Mitnick hails from Macedonia, Ohio, and according to the Cavaliers’ website, is considered a “rookie” on the squad.  Her favorite movie character is Elle Woods from Legally Blond, but her favorite movie is Girl, Interrupted.

Her celebrity crush is James Franco, and the five words that best describe her are sassy, caring, unique, charismatic and elegant.
