After five years of dating, Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney have reportedly called it quits.
According to TMZ, Gaga and Kinney quietly parted ways earlier this month.
No word yet on who initiated the breakup.
The news doesn’t come as a surprise to the most obsessive Gaga-watchers, many of whom have noted on social media that the couple has seldom been seen in one another’s company in recent weeks.
Gaga and Kinney got engaged back in February of 2015, but rumors of trouble in paradise began soon after.
Just last week, Gaga was spotted not wearing her engagement ring while out and about in Malibu.
Interestingly, the sighting took place on McKinney’s 35th birthday, which the former couple seems to have spent miles away from each other.
As recently as last month, there were reports that McKinney and Gaga had pushed their wedding back so that they could focus on starting a family.
The bizarre nature of the rumor led to instant speculation that it was planted by Gaga’s team.
We still don’t know for sure if that’s the case, but it seems more likely than ever in the wake of news that the couple has called the nuptials off entirely.
Gaga plucked McKinney from relative obscurity when they began dating, and his time in the tabloid spotlight is likely over.
Sure he’s still one of the stars of NBC’s Chicago Fire, but that’s small potatoes to being the man behind one of the most eccentric and beloved figures in modern music.
At this point, neither party has publicly confirmed the split, but sources say it’s definitely a done deal.
