Pippa Middleton Welcomes First Child!!!!!

Forgive the most obvious opening ever, but it’s also the most apt opening ever.

Okay? Here it goes:

PIP! PIP! HOORAY!

Such a full-throated cheer is very much called for at the moment because Pippa Middleton has given birth!

To her first child ever!

According to various outlets, the sister of Kate Middleton – who rose to fame by attending her sibling’s wedding and receiving a lot of praise for her derriere – welcomed a baby boy alongside husband James Matthews on Monday at 1:58 p.m.

The newborn wasn’t small, either.

Sources say he entered the world weighing eight pounds and nine ounces.

“Everyone is delighted and mother and baby are doing well,” Pippa’s representative said in a simple statement.

Middleton, clearly on the verge of giving birth, was spotted over the weekend at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.

Her exciting piece of news also comes on the heels of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry at last confirming that Markle is pregnant, ending weeks of speculation and setting off celebrations all around Great Britain.

It’s quite a time to be a Royal there days, huh?

Pippa confirmed her own pregnancy in June and later talked about working out during her first trimester.

“I’m fanatical about sport and have looked at loads of books and websites on exercise during pregnancy but have been disappointed by the limited technical information on what you can and can’t do,” she wrote in a guest column for the U.K.’s Waitrose magazine at the time.

The beauty noted that she’s had to change up her routine to accommodate her circumstances:

“And this being my first pregnancy, I had so many questions I felt were still unanswered.”

Also worth noting:

Pippa followed in the footsteps of her famous oldier sister by giving birth in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital.

This the same place where Kate and Prince William welcomed all three of their royal kids.

Unlike Kate, however, we should not expect Pippa to pose in front of this hospital with her son just hours after he came into existence.

For one thing, she isn’t officially a member of the Royal Family.

For another, she would prefer to live a quiet, private life.

In addition to cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, meanwhile, Matthews’ younger brother, Spencer Matthews, welcomed his first child, a son, with his wife, model Vogue Williams, in early September.

There are a whole bunch of cute well-known babies and toddler walking/crawling around England these days.

Middleton and Matthews got married on May 20, 2018 at St. Mark’s Church in Englefield.

Her royal nephew and niece, George and Charlotte, served in the bridal party.

In her final column for the aforementioned publication, Pippa wrote that she had turned to meditation in her final trimester.

“I was skeptical at first, but after practicing this discipline for the past month I have noticed a huge difference in my mental wellbeing and sense of clarity,” she wrote.

“It’s a good idea to take some wellbeing time for mummy-to-be now and, most importantly, for the future.”

Pippa Middleton: Yes, I Am Pregnant!!

There’s a new, confirmed baby in the Royal Family! Okay, tangentially. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are getting a cousin.

Remember over a month ago when we told you that Duchess Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, is almost definitely pregnant?

You can take out the almost. She is pregnant.

34-year-old Pippa Middleton is expecting her first child.

The baby daddy is of course her husband, James Matthews.

The source for this happy news is pretty darn reliable — because it’s Pippa herself.

Announcing what she wrote in a column for Waitrose magazine, Pippa has even more good news.

Her sister Kate’s pregnancies are notoriously difficult. She suffers from Hyperemesis Gravidarum and the results are not fun.

That was how we were able to predict that she was pregnant weeks before the official announcement.

Pippa, it seems, is having an easier time.

The happily expecting mother writes:

“I was lucky to pass the 12 week scan without suffering from morning sickness.”

When the news broke on the back end of April that Pippa was telling her close friends, it was reported that this was after the 12 week scan had revealed that everything looked healthy.

“That meant I was able to carry on as normal.”

Well … mostly. She did set about making one significant change to her lifestyle.

“When I learned the happy news that I was pregnant I realized I needed to adjust my 4 to 5-day-a-week routine.”

That’s great! We only wish that everyone were in a position to take it easy when they need to concentrate on a pregnancy — or on their health for any reason.

Though Pippa has been confiding the news to those close to her since April, she waited until a week into June to make it public knowledge.

Why? She doesn’t say. But we can guess.

First of all, it is always wise to wait until one is further along before sharing the news. Even a few weeks — or, in this case, more than a month — can give you more time to be sure that your pregnancy is still healthy.

Second of all, Pippa couldn’t have wanted to overshadow her own sister’s pregnancy and childbirth.

Kate gave birth to her third child, baby Louis, back in April — exactly around the time that Pippa began confiding in loved ones.

The following days were full of new revelations and even photos. Pippa wouldn’t want to upstage her sister.

Also, obviously, Pippa couldn’t want to distract from her sister’s brother-in-law, Prince Harry, as he tied the knot with Meghan Markle.

When there are major royal events underway, you want to put some distance between them and anything else.

And … while we’re on the subject of putting some distance between different pieces of news as they break … 

Pippa may have had another, more upsetting reason for postponing the announcement.

Pippa’s father-in-law was arrested for raping a minor. This was weeks before reports of her pregnancy began circulating.

This has to be a hard time for her and a harder time her her husband.

We can absolutely understand why they might balk at sharing that news in the same month that her father-in-law was arrested.

But all of these other events, both happy and grim, aside: this is great news!

Pippa and James are going to welcome their first child, and they’re not even pretending that it’s a secret anymore.

That must be a real weight off of their shoulders.

Now, they just need to concentrate on a healthy remainder of the pregnancy and a healthy delivery. 

Since the 12 week check-up was reportedly in the back half of April, we can guess that she might be 18 to 20 weeks along. But that is absolutely just an estimation.

If it’s correct, then she’s about halfway through.

Rumors of Kate’s sister expecting her first child with husband James Matthews are stronger than ever today, following a report in The Sun that stated exactly this.

A mostly reliable source, this British publication reports that Pippa recently started sharing the exciting news with her close friends, now that her 12-week scan has taken place and everything seems healthy.

“When Pippa found out she was pregnant, she was obviously thrilled and utterly overjoyed,” an insider tells The Sun, adding:

“Naturally, big sister Kate and parents, Carole and Michael, were the first people she told – James aside – and they could not have been more delighted.”

It’s been a difficult few weeks for Middleton and Matthews, considering the latter’s father was just arrested for the alleged rape of a minor.

Yikes, right?!?

As any Royal Family follower knows well, of course, Pippa’s very famous sister is also pregnant.

Kate and Prince Williams are expecting their third kid any day now. Heck, any hour now, really.

Pippa’s announcement also comes weeks after James’ younger brother, former Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, and his fiancee, confirmed they were expecting their first child.

Talk about a lot of small children about to enter this family!

Writes The Sun:

“Pippa and James have always known they wanted children. They have made the most of their first few months of marriage and felt the time was right to expand their family.”

Middleton and Matthews got married in May of 2017.

Pippa was sort of well known before Kate got married six years before that, but she sky-rocketed to fame on the day of her sibling’s wedding, as millions of people around the world gawked over Pippa’s rear end.

We’re not being crude.

It’s true: the world was very impressed by Pippa Middleton’s butt at the time.

Now, however, the world will be focused on Pippa’s front.

She’s expected to give birth some time in October.

The Sun says that Kate “could not have been more delighted” upon learning this news from her sister… and we feel the same way!

Pippa Middleton: Father-In-Law Arrested For Raping a Minor

When Pippa Middleton married James Matthews back in 2017 royal watchers thought they’d uncovered everything there is to know about the revered Matthews clan.

Like Pippa’s family, the Matthews are well-to-do commoners with several significant landholdings who enjoy a place of prominence in London society.

It was revealed this week, however, that Pippa’s in-laws have been hiding a very dark secret for the past two decades.

Several media outlets have confirmed that James’ father, David Matthews, was arrested at Paris’ Orly Airport this week in connection with statutory rape charges.

Officials have been investigating allegations that Matthews had sex with an underage girl in the late nineties.

This week, they were finally able to obtain a warrant for the 74-year-old businessman’s arrest.

“I confirm that David M was placed in police custody on 27 March at the Brigade for the Protection of Minors,” a Paris judicial official tells The Telegraph.

The official continued:

“Following his arrest, the Paris public prosecutor’s office opened a judicial investigation, overlooked by an examining magistrate.”

The authorities provided few details about the nature of Matthews’ alleged crimes, but The Telegraph reports that there were several incidents beginning in 1997.

There’s no word yet regarding in which country the alleged misconduct took place.

Matthews’ attorneys have dismissed the charges as “untrue and scandalous.”

At this point, the case will pass from the police to the courts as judicial investigators seek to determine if there’s enough evidence to convict Matthews.

While we’re sure their main concern is seeing that justice is served, the timing of the arrest is certainly not ideal for members of the royal family who are currently preparing for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Times have changed, and royal marriages are no longer arranged for political expediency, but nevertheless, Harry and Meghan’s wedding is still an international event that will put one of the western world’s oldest institutions squarely at the center of the global stage.

David Matthews may not be directly tied to the Royals, but his loose association to Kate, William, Meghan, and Harry is no doubt a source of concern for many within Buckingham Palace today.

Kate & Pippa Middleton: Feuding Over Meghan Markle?!

If you believe every tabloid story, Meghan Markle is creating more waves within the royal family than Henry VIII ever did.

Ever since Meghan and Prince Harry got engaged last month, the press has had Meg creating drama pretty much non-stop.

To hear the tabloids tell it, the royal family is like a soap opera with declining ratings, and Meghan is the sexy wild card that the writers bring in to stir things up.

First, it was widely reported that Meghan was feuding with Kate Middleton.

After Kate and Meghan were photographed together while apparently thoroughly enjoying one another’s company, the press was forced to change its tune.

Now, several outlets are claiming that Meghan and Kate are getting along too well–and Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, is not happy about it.

According to In Touch, Kate and Meg are inseparable these days, and the situation has Pippa feeling like the odd woman out.

“They used to do everything together and speak daily,” an insider tells the tabloid.

“But now that Meghan lives practically under the same roof as Kate at Kensington Palace, the dynamics have changed and Pippa feels shoved out.”

The source says Pippa voiced her complaint to Kate, but the Duchess was having none of it.

“Kate fought back and told Pippa that it’s her duty to make Meghan feel welcomed,” the insider claims.

Yes, apparently Kensington Palace is the coolest table in the cafeteria, and Kate is basically Regina George.

The situation may sound ridiculous, but so does the idea of a country having a royal family in 2017.

While all of this is going on, Meghan has her own drama back in the States, and no, we’re not talking about Suits.

Earlier this week, Harry threw shade at Meghan’s family, and now, the actress’ ever-shady half-sister Samantha Markle is publicly capping back.

Like we said, the reports about Meghan are sounding more and more like cheesy soap storylines, and we couldn’t be happier about it.

It’s not that we want her life to be filled with unnecessary drama; we just want her to suitably represent her homeland.

If our salty-ass president has taught the world anything, it’s that no one stirs up drama like Americans–and now, Meghan is driving that message home.

Pippa Middleton: Pregnant Already?!

Remember when we speculated that Kate Middleton was pregnant, and it was only a week later when it was announced that Kate Middleton is pregnant with Royal Baby #3?

Because we sure remember.

Well … now there’s a new report, and it looks like Pippa Middleton might just be pregnant.

Royal family members might take turns announcing big news …

(A likely reason for why we haven’t heard an official announcement about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle getting engaged despite the plethora of reports and rumors saying that the two are ready to take that step any day now)

… But that rule doesn’t necessarily apply to their extended families.

Pippa Middleton is Kate’s sister, and Kate’s pregnancy is doubtless meant to be a welcome and happy distraction during the UK’s inevitable, nightmarish Brexit process.

We’ve talked about the possibility of Pippa Middleton being pregnant before, and the more murmur that we hear about it, the more likely it seems that she will be popping out her first child some time in 2018.

We’re always a little leery of blindly believing everything that we read, of course, but this report has details about Pippa’s plans for the future.

In their October 23rd issue, Life & Style reports that Pippa and James are trying to get pregnant.

In fact, the Pippa Middleton insider suggests that they may have already succeeded.

“They are trying for a baby, and Pippa might already be expecting.”

Some women get pregnant the first time that they have sex, so obviously, if she’s trying, it’s possible that she’s already expecting.

It can take a couple of weeks after conception to know for sure.

“She has dropped a few hints, and I know she would love to be pregnant at the same time as Kate.”

We’d love to know exactly what sorts of hints she’s dropped, but it’s obviously in everyone’s best interests if Royals and their relatives are circumspect about these things. We get it.

This same insider claims that they know what sort of family Pippa wants to have. Apparently she even has a preferred order.

“She would love to have a boy first and then a girl.”

Many people suggest that, because of how children are socialized by gender (or perceived gender), it can be preferable to have an older brother and a younger sister.

That was my family’s dynamic (two younger sisters, actually), but the order shouldn’t really matter.

And speaking of three siblings:

All told? Pippa “wants three children,” the insider reports.

As we’re sure just occurred to you — three just happens to be the number of children that Kate is on her way to having.

it sounds like the sisters have discussed how their respective children would get along.

“Pippa and Kate can’t wait until the kids all play together.”

The idea of the cousins playing together is certainly adorable.

We have to note that no one should start counting their royal-adjacent chickens before they hatch, however.

Pippa is trying, but some women take years to conceive. The average time for a healthy couple to try conceive before they get a viable pregnancy is one entire year.

So … let’s all be patient. But also keep an ear out.

We love the idea of both Middleton women being pregnant at the same time.

ATTENTION, HOLLYWOOD GOSSIP READERS:

We interrupt our usual run of stories regarding whether or not Kate Middleton is pregnant with her third child to bring you the following Royal Family update…

… Pippa Middleton may be pregnant with her first child!

This alleged piece of breaking news does not come to us from some typically unreliable supermarket tabloid.

At least not one based in the United States.

Instead, Australia’s Woman’s Day, claims to have the “Exclusive” scoop on how Pippa and James Matthews will be welcoming a little boy or girl into the world some time next year.

“Pippa always said she wanted to start a family as soon as she got married, and now her wish has come true,” an insider tells the publication, seemingly confirming Middleton’s pregnancy.

One half of this fantasy-based equation has been proven true at least:

Pippa and Matthews got married in London on May 20.

It was a joyous occasion for all involved. (And also for those websites that covered it. We were pretty psyched!)

Woman’s Day goes so far as to write that Pippa is “convinced” she’s having a daughter, although it remains unclear whether she will even learn the gender of her child before she or he is born.

Last week, Pippa was spotted in a flowing top that many suspect was hiding a baby bump.

She’s supposedly two months ago.

But don’t expect to see Pippa gain a lot of weight throughout the next seven months, as the magazine goes into such alleged detail that it reports the following:

“She has seen other fit and healthy mums-to-be with a small, neat baby bump – and she’s hoping to stay as active as possible right up until the baby is born.”

That sounds great and everything.

Pippa has to listen to her body, though. You don’t want to push it too hard when there’s a baby growing inside of it!

The younger Middleton sister, who rose to fame when the press zeroed in on her impressive rear end during her sibling’s marriage to Prince William, has been suffering through a few morning sickness bouts.

But Kate Middleton unfortunately experienced a pair of very challenging pregnancies.

By comparison, Pippa is doing just fine, friends say.

Is this report to be believed? That’s for fans to decide.

Meghan Markle: Sister Slams Pippa Middleton HARD for Wedding Invite Diss!

Poor Meghan Markle.

Not only did she miss out on attending Pippa Middleton’s big fancy wedding, but she also has what could very likely be the shadiest sibling of all time.

It’s a good thing she has the hot prince to soothe her during these trying times, right?

And tons of money, tons of beauty, the prestige of being on Suits …

So things aren’t too bad.

But still, people have been talking about what happened last Saturday with Pippa Middleton’s wedding, and they don’t seem too keen to stop talking anytime soon.

As we’ve heard, though Prince Harry is widely rumored to be on the brink of proposing to Meghan, Pippa wouldn’t allow him to bring her to the wedding ceremony.

Instead, she came with him to the reception — a nice compromise, we think.

After all, Pippa isn’t dumb, she knows that if Meghan were to show up to the church, all eyes would be on her. It’s not wrong for her to want to be the center of attention on her most special of days.

But even though it all makes sense and we’re sure Meghan wasn’t spending Saturday morning crying tears of heartache and loneliness, her creepy sister Samantha is still trying to make a big deal about it.

Remember Samantha? She’s Meghan’s estranged sister who’s apparently seen her once in the past two decades.

When Meghan began dating Harry, Samantha saw a chance for fame, and so she began going after Meghan on social media, telling everyone who would listen about how awful she is.

She’s also working on a tell-all, tentatively titled The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister.

And now she’s giving interviews — and oddly enough, this time she seems to be defending Meghan.

Samantha spoke to Radar Online, and she really got into the Pippa wedding drama, saying “For the royal family to exclude her from the wedding is in very poor taste.”

Pippa isn’t “the royal family” by any means, but sure, we’re listening.

“To ignore Meghan at the ceremony and for photographs is pure snobbery,” she went on. “She should have been there. She’s classy, and her dress was designed as a one-off.”

“Diana would be appalled to see how Harry’s true love was treated.”

Bringing in Princess Diana to defend the honor of “Harry’s true love” … you know Samantha is very serious about this.

You’re probably also noticing that this is quite a change in tune for her — she’s calling Meghan “Princess Pushy” in a book title, she’s not exactly a fan.

But, as Samantha explains, “I haven’t always agreed with some of the things my sister has done but she’s a victim here.”

Sure, honey. Whatever you say.

Meghan Markle: NOT Invited to Pippa Middleton"s Wedding?!

As you’ve probably heard, Pippa Middleton married James Matthews over the weekend, in a ceremony that was pretty low-key by the standards of a “semi-royal” wedding.

Clearly, Pippa wanted to keep the guest list small, and we’re guessing the reason for that wasn’t that she wanted to save some cash.

(Pippa has some well-off in-laws.)

No, what’s more likely is that Pippa didn’t want to be overshadowed at her own wedding, which is perfectly understandable.

Unfortunately, when your sister is married to a dude who’s gonna be a king someday, that’s no easy feat.

In addition to the media’s obsession with Kate Middleton, Pippa had to contend with a new up-and-comer in the form of Prince Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle.

There were rumors that Meghan would not be invited to the wedding, but it was widely assumed that the Pipster would cave when the time came.

But in a move that proves once and for all that the Brits are the undisputed masters of passive-aggressive shade, Pippa stuck to her no MegMar policy … kind of.

Witnesses and photos from the big day show that Meghan was not in attendance at Pippa’s ceremony.

But she did attend the reception, showing up shotgun in Harry’s silver Audi.

So it sounds like some sort of royal compromise was reached, wherein Meghan would be permitted to sit through the awkward groomsmen toasts but not to watch Pippa and James exchange vows.

Meg made out like a bandit on this deal, as everyone knows the ceremony is just the boring part you have to suffer through in order to get to the open bar.

People magazine consulted an etiquette expert in order to determine if this is an unusual arrangement, because that’s the sort of thing People magazine does in this sort of situation:

“I would not be surprised if Prince Harry was not given a plus one, as the wedding guest list would have most likely been made in fall of last year when Prince Harry’s relationship with Meghan was not as public,” the expert said.

“I typically recommend if someone is married, engaged, considers themselves to have a serious significant other, or is traveling in for the wedding, they should receive a plus one.”

So there you have it.

It’s acceptable to not invite any basic cable legal drama stars to your ceremony as long as you hit them with a free overcooked filet mignon afterward.

Pippa Middleton vs. Kate Middleton: Who Wore Her Wedding Dress Better?

On May 20, 2017, Pippa Middleton married James Matthews.

On April 29, 2011, Kate Middleton married Prince William.

Both occasions were marked by intense interest from the public… the gathering of Royal Family members from near and far… ridiculously lavish receptions…

… and lots of talk over the sisters’ chosen wedding dresses.

And we mean LOTS. OF. TALK.

You’d think these wedding dresses had solved the problem of world poverty or something, based on the way everyone on the Internet discussed them, debated them and analyzed every inch of fabric that comprised them.

But that’s just what happens when you combine the world’s most famous set of relatives with one of the world’s most popular industries.

Royal weddings equal royal fascination.

PIPPA donned a lace dress designed by Giles Deacon. It featured a high neck and capped sleeves molded to her torso, along with a full (but not stuffed) skirt.

The younger Middleton sister accessorised her bridal outfit with a Maidenhair fern tiara by Robinson Pelham and satin pumps with pearl detailing by Manolo Blahnik.

She looked amazing.

For her “something old”, meanwhile, Pippa rocked the same Robinson Pelham pearl earrings that graced her lobes for Kate’s wedding in 2011.

Which brings us to Kate’s wedding in 2011.

It was designed by Sarah Burton, the creative director of the luxury fashion house Alexander McQueen.

The ivory satin bodice was padded slightly at the hips and narrowed at the waist, incorporating floral motifs.

When Kate turned around, fans were left in awe at the 58 buttons of gazer and organza, which fastened via rouleau loops.

Sources at the time said that Burton used traditional Carrickmacross craftsmanship in making the ivory gown, a technique that dates back to the 1800s; this was meant to represent “something old.”

The skirt was crafted with white satin gazar arches and pleats to echo an opening flower.

From the hand-cut Chantilly lace of the sleeves to the lace applique on the bodice and the individual lace roses, the attention to detail on this dress was nearly unparalleled in wedding history.

It makes sense. Kate was actually marrying into the Royal Family.

These was the most-watching nuptials of all-time.

Therefore, Pippa didn’t have the same standard to meet when marrying James Matthews.

That’s important to keep in mind here.

This fine-assed beauty was still the center of the world’s attention on Saturday morning, but she didn’t face the same sort of societal expectations as her sister when it came to her dress.

The lace-bodiced, high-necked dress was created by Giles Deacon, while the tulle veil was dotted with pearls and made by milliner Stephen Jones.

The bride also rocked a Maidenhair fern tiara by Robinson Pelham and ivory satin pumps by Manolo Blahnik with pearl detailing. She looked amazing. SEE FOR YOURSELF:

Pippa Middleton and James Matthews: Married!

It wasn’t quite a royal affair, but it came pretty close as Pippa Middleton and James Matthews tied the knot in London on Saturday, May 20.

Yes, six years after she became the world’s most famous bridesmaid, wedding bells finally rang for the world’s most famous royal-in law.

And it was certainly a sight to behold.

Pippa looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown, a lovely lace affair with a high neck and a cutout in the back.

It’s a custom dress, of course, by Giles Deacon, and she couldn’t possibly look more beautiful.

She also looked ridiculously happy to be marrying her now-husband, so that’s nice, too.

Pippa and James had their ceremony in St. Mark’s Church in Englefield this morning, and while, as we said, Pippa isn’t technically royalty, you wouldn’t believe it by the guest list.

Her sister, Kate Middleton, was there with Prince William, and their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were in the bridal party.

As painfully adorable as it may be to hear, George served as a page boy while Charlotte acted as one of Pippa’s bridesmaids.

They also entered the church with Kate in what may be the cutest photos to come from this wedding.

Prince Harry was in attendance also, but as of now, there’s no Meghan Markle in sight.

It’s rumored that while she wasn’t invited to the actual wedding ceremony, she’ll be able to attend the reception and all the festivities that will last throughout the day.

According to UK publications, it’s one of those unspoken rules that royals are strongly discouraged from upstaging big events like these, and if Meghan had showed on Pippa’s special day, well …

We’re sure it wouldn’t be pretty.

Pippa, 35, turned heads across the land with her svelte figure at Kate Middleton’s wedding to Prince William, becoming a global sensation.

“Her Royal Hotness” or “Lord of the Arsetocracy” as some have dubbed her, waited a long time to find The One for her, but it was worth it.

James Matthews, a handsome and wealthy banker, or financier as it were, has now been crowned Mr. Pippa Middleton for all eternity.

What a lucky, lucky man.

Meghan Markle: FINALLY Invited to Pippa Middleton"s Wedding?!

In just two weeks, Pippa Middleton will marry James Matthews.

Usually, this close to a wedding (particularly a high-profile “almost royal” wedding), the guest list is pretty much etched in stone, but in this case it seems there’s a lot of last-minute tinkering going on.

In order to understand why the guest list is so important to Pippa, you have to remember that it was a wedding that made her a household name.

For much of the world, Kate and William’s wedding was the first time they laid eyes on the younger Middleton sister.

For reasons that remain unclear, Pippa’s butt became a worldwide trending topic, but the love affair between her pert backside and the public would prove short-lived.

After a few failed attempts at careers in the public eye, Pippa is mostly a footnote these days, but she reportedly sees this wedding as an opportunity to crawl back into the headlines, however briefly.

As such, the supporting cast that will surround her on the big day has to be meticulously curated.

Pippa is reportedly attempting a tricky balancing act – loading the guest with enough big names to ensure that her wedding is a star-studded affair, while at the same time avoiding being overshadowed by up-and-comers more famous than herself.

Obviously, Meghan Markle is the up-and-comer du jour, and Pippa is reportedly very concerned about being outshone.

As recently as last month, Meghan was not invited to Pippa’s wedding, a casualty of the “no ring, no bring policy” (guests who aren’t married or engaged aren’t permitted a “plus one).

After some cajoling, Pippa reportedly eased up and gave Harry permission to bring Meghan to the reception, but not to the ceremony.

Insiders say Harry made it clear that that wasn’t good enough, and if Meghan was not invited to the ceremony, he wouldn’t be attending either.

Apparently the ultimatum worked, because The Daily Express is reporting today that Pippa has broken down and offered Meghan a formal invitation to watch her say “I do.”

We imagine the evening will be more than a little awkward, as Pippa has indirectly made it quite clear that she doesn’t want Meghan there.

Of course, explaining to the press why Harry didn’t show up would be even more awkward.

Prince Harry: Screw You, Pippa! I"m Bringing Meghan Markle to Your Wedding!

We may be on the verge of that rarest kind of celebrity beef – the royal feud.

For all the drama that plays out behind the walls of Buckingham Palace, the Royals’ upper lips are so preternaturally stiff that we rarely get to see any sort of discord boil over into the public realm.

Of course, we guess in this case it’s just a semi-royal feud, as one of the main combatants will never actually hold a title:

In just a few short weeks, Pippa Middleton will marry James Matthews in what’s sure to be an ultra-lavish affair attended by her famous sister and a number of other publicity magnets.

Unfortunately for Pippa, the bulk of the media scrutiny surrounding her wedding has had more to do with who won’t be attending.

Insiders claim that Pippa has instituted a strict “no ring, no bring” policy, meaning that guests who aren’t married or engaged will not be granted a “plus one.”

Sources say the main goal was to ban Meghan Markle from the festivities for fear that Prince Harry’s gorgeous girlfriend would steal the spotlight.

As a bonus, the policy also bars James’ brother, Spencer Matthews, and his girlfriend, the hilariously-named Vogue Williams, both of whom starred on a trashy UK reality show called Made In Chelsea.

But Spencer and Vogue (ed note: LOL) don’t have much say in the matter, whereas Harry is not one to take things lying down.

Tipsters close to the wedding process say the Ginger Prince has instituted a policy of his own: No Meg, no Harry.

Now it seems that rather than suffer the bad publicity that would come with public speculation as to why one of the most high-profile invitees chose to bow out, Pippa has simply broken down and allowed Harry to bring his boo.

Of course, now the floodgates are open and the reality stars can demand similar treatment.

By the end of this thing, Snooki will be licking ron-ron juice off The Situation’s abs, which is a very 2011 reference, but in fairness, that’s the last time anyone really gave a sh-t about Pippa Middleton.

Apparently, Pippa’s concerns are somewhat ameliorated by reports that a Harry-Meghan engagement is forthcoming. 

“They will be engaged by the end of summer,” a source recently told Us Weekly.

“They have spoken candidly about their future. They see a life together.”

Somewhere a glowering Pippa threw her issue into a roaring fireplace and was all like, “They better see a life together!”
