The Voice Recap: Okay It"s Crunch Time Now

The Voice has narrowed its field from hundreds of would-be stars to eight elite competitors, and Monday night, the stakes were high.

Higher than ever, in fact, given the format.

After The Voice results last Tuesday, it’s abundantly clear that no one is safe, and this week, the margin of error will be next to none:

Only four will make it to the finals.

With that said, let’s break down all the performances from this epic musical night and handicap who we think will make it to the finale.

Hunter Plake

Hunter went with “With or Without You” by U2. The judges seemed to take a shine to the performance, but he chose one of those songs that almost everyone likes. It was not entirely the best song to open the show with, but it was still an alright performance.

Will it be enough to send Hunter to the finals? I’m not so sure. It all comes down to the other performances on the night.

Vanessa Ferguson and Chris Blue

In an effort to fill the two-hour slot the show paired some of the contestants up for performances. Vanessa and Chris went with “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys.

They actually sang together really well. Like, it could pass for a professional duet. I don’t know whether that’s a testament to Alicia Keys or them.

TSoul

TSoul went with “Ain’t No Way” by Aretha Franklin. This was a surprisingly lackluster performance for him. He’s been so strong all season long and did not choose the right time to falter.

It resulted in him screeching the final verse. It was not good. Will he be saved? I’m not so sure.

Brennley Brown

Brennley went with “Suds in the Bucket” by Sara Evans. It was great. Brennley has proven time and time again that she has the vocal chops to succeed in any situation.

Blake and Gwen were quick to pick out the flaws, but it was good.

Hunter Plake and Aliyah Moulden

The second team up of the night performed “Let It Go” by James Bay. No, it was not the song from Frozen, and we are so thankful for that.

This was a horrible performance. Both performers just don’t sound good together, and that’s a shame.

Lauren Duski

Lauren went with “Ghost in this House” by Shenandoah. It was a riveting performance that showed off her vocal range.

Should Lauren advance to the final? Definitely.

TSoul and Jesse Larson

This duo went with “I Wish” by Stevie Wonder. Like the duo performance that came before it, it was terrible.

Chris Blue

Chris went with “Take Me to the King” by Angela Mann. It was so much better than some of his recent performances. Everything about it was great, and I can’t wait until he makes it to the finale.

Vanessa Ferguson

Vanessa being in the bottom three last week was just uncalled for. She has been a solid competitor all season long, and there were others who should have been in the bottom.

This week, she performed “Superstar” by Luther Vandross. It was another solid performance that proved why she was still on the show.

Brennley Brown and Lauren Duski

A poor song choice ruined this performance. They went with “A Good Hearted Woman” by LeAnn Rimes. The two country women should have turned in a solid performance, but it was all over the place.

Jesse Larson

Jesse went with “I Was Wrong” by Chris Stapleton. It was not that great. At this stage, it should have been much better. It was all over the place, and he will probably wind up in the bottom three.

Aliyah Moulden

Aliyah went with “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe, and it was a solid performance. It was slower, but it complimented her voice well.

She should make it to the finale.

What did you think of the performances?

Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Recap: Hip Hoppers For Truth

Last night on a heated Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta Season 6 Episode 11, Scrappy was on the friggin’ warpath, vying to uncover the truth.

Whilst that crucial quest was underway, Joseline Hernandez tried to grasp the fact she was a mother now, and adjust her life accordingly.

Was she able to do so?

When the episode got underway, Joseline was on her way to meet up with Jessica and Melissa. Her plan? To let them know she had given birth to a beautiful daughter named Bonnie.

She also wanted to let them know about Stevie being around, as opposed to running off and burying his head in the sand.

Melissa asks “So how are you and Stevie going to do this? Are you going to co-parent?” Joseline says “I don’t know if we are going to co-parent.”

Um, alright then.

Melissa then opened up to Joseline about Tommie’s wine tasting event.

“You were the subject of a fight. Tommie got mad and came across the table.”

Joseline says “I missed a lot while I was away giving birth to Bonnie.”

Melissa asks Joseline “What about you and Karlie? Can you make up?” Joseline says “I don’t have a problem with Karlie. She just has a big mouth.” Melissa says “Do you think that you can sit down and have a conversation with her?”

While that was going down, Karlie and Joc met up to discuss whether their relationship was going to be fine.

Karlie says, “You are the only man who truly gets me and makes me feel our of my element and you hurt me when you did what you did with Tommie.”

Joc says, “Listen I never smashed Tommie. I figured that she was using me to get back at you.”

Just like that, their relationship was back on track.

Meanwhile, Rasheeda was pissed about what Shirleen did at Scrappy’s party and went on the warpath.

Rasheeda says, “Was that your idea or Momma Dee’s?”

Shirleen says “It was both of our ideas.”

Rasheeda tells her mom “It’s bad enough that I have eyes looking at me everywhere I go, and there are whispers. I went to the party to escape all of that and what you did brought it all to the forefront.”

Shirleen tells Rasheeda “You need to make some decisions about what you’re going to do because Kirk is going around Atlanta embarrassing you. He’s telling people all about your lack of sex life and all of that.”

Rasheeda gets annoyed and says “He’ll say whatever he has to in order to throw shade on someone else for the stuff he did.”

Joseline then met up with Stevie.

She tells him “I have to go to LA.” He asks her “For what?” She tells him “I’m doing The Real.” He asks “Are you going to cut me in?”

Joseline says “No.” Stevie says “So you’re gonna leave the baby with me while you going to LA.” Joseline says “No. Who is going to help you take care of the baby?” Stevie says “I have all the kids staying at the house with me.”

However, Joseline did not want the older kids around her daughter because they were always trying to fight her.

Joseline and Karlie met up to try and fix their friendship, but it went horribly.

“Karlie you didn’t just get messy you have always been messy,” Joseline begins. “You are the mouth of the south.”

Karlie is silent for a beat but then opens up. “Now that you have had your chance to talk congratulations on the baby.”

It then descended into another argument. Will this ever end?

What did you think of it all?

Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth: Getting Married THIS WEEK?!

Last month, we reported that Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth would be getting married in October, on Joy-Anna’s birthday.

The news came to us via an online wedding registry that was registered to the young couple and clearly identified the date of their nuptials.

But it looks like the Duggar clan may have pulled a fast one on us, as it seems Joy-Anna and Austin are actually tying the knot much sooner than expected.

According to the Duggar Family News (Life is Not All Pickles and Hairspray) Facebook page, Joy-Anna and Austin will actually by tying the knot this weekend.

“I heard from a Duggar insider that Joy’s wedding will be next week,” the page reports.

“I’m guessing that means Saturday, May 20th.”

The post was later updated, adding:

“It’s been confirmed. The wedding is this Saturday.”

Pickles and Hairspray is generally a very reliable source for Duggar info, and the page’s admin frequently delivers a healthy dose of sass along with the news.

Reporting on the location of Joy-Anna’s ceremony, P&H revealed:

It seems like the wedding will be held close to the Duggar compound since the source said guests will be at the compound before and after the wedding.

“That’s all I know right now except I hope Joy gets up the nerve to run before then and live the life God gave her not the one arranged for her by her fruitcake dad.”

Of course, any Duggar woman her fled her own wedding would be immediately branded a heretic and forced to spend her remaining years wandering the local Wal-Mart in a dress of the shabbiest denim, so we doubt that’ll happen.

But oh, how we would love to see the look on Jim Bob’s face.

Originally we thought that it was bizarre that these lovebirds were waiting so long to tie the knot.

After all, Joy-Anna and Austin have already been courting for several months, and Duggars generally aren’t big on wasting valuable baby-making time.

So the revelation that the registry was a ploy to throw the press off their trail explains quite a bit.

After the wedding, of course, the family will be soaking up all the press attention it can get, but if other outlets receive details in advance, it might be harder to ensure the whole thing remains a TLC exclusive.

No word on whether or not Joy-Anna is upset that she’ll be forced to compete with Pippa Middleton’s wedding for the attention of the tabloids and gossip sites, but we’re guessing there will be attention enough for plenty of them.

After all, Arkansan religious zealots and British royals have slightly different target audiences.

Watch Counting On online to relive Joy-Anna and Austin’s road to the altar.
