Pippa Middleton: Father-In-Law Arrested For Raping a Minor

When Pippa Middleton married James Matthews back in 2017 royal watchers thought they’d uncovered everything there is to know about the revered Matthews clan.

Like Pippa’s family, the Matthews are well-to-do commoners with several significant landholdings who enjoy a place of prominence in London society.

It was revealed this week, however, that Pippa’s in-laws have been hiding a very dark secret for the past two decades.

Several media outlets have confirmed that James’ father, David Matthews, was arrested at Paris’ Orly Airport this week in connection with statutory rape charges.

Officials have been investigating allegations that Matthews had sex with an underage girl in the late nineties.

This week, they were finally able to obtain a warrant for the 74-year-old businessman’s arrest.

“I confirm that David M was placed in police custody on 27 March at the Brigade for the Protection of Minors,” a Paris judicial official tells The Telegraph.

The official continued:

“Following his arrest, the Paris public prosecutor’s office opened a judicial investigation, overlooked by an examining magistrate.”

The authorities provided few details about the nature of Matthews’ alleged crimes, but The Telegraph reports that there were several incidents beginning in 1997.

There’s no word yet regarding in which country the alleged misconduct took place.

Matthews’ attorneys have dismissed the charges as “untrue and scandalous.”

At this point, the case will pass from the police to the courts as judicial investigators seek to determine if there’s enough evidence to convict Matthews.

While we’re sure their main concern is seeing that justice is served, the timing of the arrest is certainly not ideal for members of the royal family who are currently preparing for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Times have changed, and royal marriages are no longer arranged for political expediency, but nevertheless, Harry and Meghan’s wedding is still an international event that will put one of the western world’s oldest institutions squarely at the center of the global stage.

David Matthews may not be directly tied to the Royals, but his loose association to Kate, William, Meghan, and Harry is no doubt a source of concern for many within Buckingham Palace today.

Dwayne Johnson Reveals Depression Battle, Mother"s Suicide Attempt

Depression is an illness that millions battle, and it can involve a powerful hereditary component. Some feel that it’s like a family curse.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the legendary wrestler-turned-actor known for his sunny disposition and affection for his fans, is opening up about his own experiences with depression.

And revealing that he nearly lost his mother to suicide.

As part of his press tour for Rampage, Johnson opened up in an interview with Express about his secret battle with depression.

And he describes a horrifying moment when, at 15, he nearly lost his mother, Ata.

“She got out of the car on Interstate 65 in Nashville and walked into oncoming traffic.”

That is absolutely horrifying. Fortunately, he was able to save her life at the time.

“I grabbed her and pulled her back on the gravel shoulder of the road.”

Though Johnson was already tall and muscular at 15, that’s a heartbreaking scenario for anyone to face with their own mother — particularly when that person is only a teenager.

“What’s crazy about that suicide attempt is that to this day, she has no recollection of it whatsoever. Probably best she doesn’t.”

Depression can impair memory.

Johnson then goes on to reveal how this has impacted him even more personally.

“Struggle and pain is real. I was devastated and depressed.”

And he describes some tell-tale symptoms of depression.

“I reached a point where I didn’t want to do a thing or go anywhere. I was crying constantly.”

Depression robs people of the ability to enjoy their favorite activities, and can also release inhibitions on the expression of certain negative emotions.

He shares that he and his mother were eventually able to manage their depression.

“We both healed but we’ve always got to do our best to pay attention when other people are in pain.”

But he believes that outreach from people who understand can be the key to helping.

“We have to help them through it and remind them they are not alone.”

Johnson has hinted at this struggle in the past.

Once, a fan confessed over social media that they struggled with depression.

Johnson responded at the time, saying:

“I hear you. I’ve battled that beast more than once.”

It’s one thing to have sympathy for a fan for what they’re going to and to then publicly express that. It’s another to share your personal pain to let them know how well you understand their struggle.

Johnson is expecting his second child with his wife, Lauren Hashian.

This beloved actor is cherished by fans for his forthrightness, his ever-present smile, and for destroying stereotypes that say that men with hyper-masculine builds can’t express tenderness, joy, or vulnerability.

His fans adore him with good reason. Since Johnson has threatened to run for President in the past, some people wonder if he might actually have enough popularity and public support to get on a ballot.

Not everyone — even his fans — agree with some of his politics.

But if this last year or so has taught us anything, it’s that America could do far, far worse than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Kendra Wilkinson Tearfully Confirms Divorce... We Think

You’ve heard of the saying that it’s “all over but the shouting,” right?

For Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett, it appears to all be over by the filing.

Over the past several days, Wilkinson has gone out of her way tell social media followers that her marriage was in trouble.

She even took the very unusual step of shooting down chatter that her relationship was healthy, insisting to anyone who would listen that she and Hank were in a bad place.

Now, following a series of Instagram photos and messages (below) in which Kendra seemingly had a break down, removed her wedding ring and made it clear the union was very nearly over…

… well, the ex-Playboy centerfold has sort of done the same thing again.

“I’m scared,” Kendra said via Instagram Stories on Monday morning, hinting once more that things really are terrible between her and Baskett.

“10 years. I did everything I could,” she goes on to say in her video, adding:

“It wasn’t good enough. I will always love him. My heart will always remain open for him. I believed in forever I really did. Guess it’s just not meant to be.

“I’m so scared but I have to get strong for my kids. I will.”

The couple are the parents to a pair of children: an eight-year old son named Hank IV and a three-year old daughter named Alijah.

“Thank you to all my friends and family for supporting me at the moment. Every little ounce of love helps. Thank you,” Kendra added, while also including a photo from her wedding day.

The model and the former wide receiver got married in 2009.

Five years later, however, their lives were changed forever when Baskett admitted to receiving manual pleasure from a transgender model named Ava London.

Despite an appearance on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, along with many seasons of Kendra on Top, the stars were apparently unable to work through the issues this hand job caused.

For some time, the assumption was that Kendra only played up her marital strife to boost ratings for this series.

But it has not aired a new episode since last summer and WEtv has not announced a renewal.

It is therefore safe to maybe assume that Kendra is serious this time around.

She’s simply being as real and as raw and as honest as possible when it comes to the dissolution of her marriage.

That said, as far as we know, she has not filed any divorce papers…yet.

“Today will be the saddest, scariest day of my life,” Kendra later Tweeted, implying a legal decision was imminent and concluding:

“Today I will have to be the strongest I’ve ever been. Today, my rebirth begins.”

We wish her the best of luck with this.

Considering there are two young kids involved, we really do Hank and Kendra settle things in a mature and amicable manner.
