#FireColbert Campaign Breaks Out Over Host"s Trump Joke

Stephen Colbert has Donald Trump to thank for his surge in recent ratings.

Ever since the 45th President of the United States was sworn in, Colbert has held little back in slamming the ill-informed and self-obsessed POTUS, flying past Jimmy Fallon as the most-watch late-night talk show as a result.

Viewers have clearly been tuning in to see what Colbert will say about Trump next.

On Monday night, however, many were stunned by how Colbert responded to Trump slamming John Dickerson of CBS News.

“Sir, you attract more skinheads than free Rogaine,” Colbert said toward the end of the insult-laden rant, adding:

“You have more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign language gorilla that got hit in the head.

"In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s cock holster.”

WHOA THERE!

It was this final comment that some think crossed a line. As you"re about to see below, it has led to a #FireColbert campaign on Twitter, with critics calling for the comedian"s job…

1. Did He Cross a Line?

Did he cross a line

Some are comparing Colbert’s situation to that of Bill O’Reilly, who was recently dismissed by Fox News. Of course, O’Reilly paid five women to remain silent about their allegations of sexual misconduct; he didn’t just make a joke. Moreover, he was fired because advertisers pulled out of his show, not because the network was offended over his scandal or even because viewers were turned off by it.

2. We Know What This Person Thinks

Yes, it crossed the line. Bigly.

3. See Ya, CBS!

See ya cbs

Will ratings for the network as a whole suffer?

4. But How Do You Really Feel?

But how do you really feel

Come on. Don’t hold back.

5. A Rush to Judgment

Rush Limbaugh, this person is referring to.
