R. Kelly: The Time"s Up Movement Launches #MuteRKelly Campaign
R. Kelly is accused of keeping and training women as “pets” in a captive harem. We’ve heard the horrifying allegations about Kelly’s sex cult, and multiple women who escaped have shared their stories.
Despite all of this, his career is still going strong. He has a concert scheduled for next week.
And the Time’s Up movement is coming for him.
Time’s Up released a statement, specifically from women of color within their ranks.
“As women of color within Time’s Up, we recognize that we have a responsibility to help right this wrong. We intend to shine a bright light on our WOC sisters in need. It is our hope that we will never feel ignored or silenced ever again.”
(If you don’t read a lot of intersectional feminist writing, WOC is an abbreviation for women of color)
“The recent court decision against Bill Cosby is one step toward addressing these ills, but it is just a start.”
Cosby was found guilty at his retrial, in what many see as a triumphant blow against sex monsters who have gone too long without facing justice.
“We call on people everywhere to join with us to insist on a world in which women of all kinds can pursue their dreams free from sexual assault, abuse and predatory behavior.”
And they see their next focus as R. Kelly.
“To this end, today we join an existing online campaign called #MuteRKelly.”
R. Kelly is believed to have targeted and “trained” numerous women, including minor girls, to serve him sexually.
Survivors accuse him of iinflicting punishments such as isolation, food-deprivation, and physical beatings to these women.
“Over the past 25 years, the man known publicly as R. Kelly has sold 60 million albums, toured the globe repeatedly, and accumulated hundreds of millions of plays on radio and streaming services.”
The document then lists the horrifying accusations against R. Kelly, including:
He “married a girl under 18 years of age.”
He “was sued by at least four women for sexual misconduct, statutory rape, aggravated assault, unlawful restraint and furnishing illegal drugs to a minor.”
He “was indicted on 21 counts of child pornography.”
He “has faced allegations of sexual abuse and imprisonment of women under threats of violence and familial harm.”
Notice that Time’s Up is not really issuing any accusations, simply repeating provable facts such as indictments and allegations.
Time’s Up has more to say than just briefly touching upon the accusations against R. Kelly.
They are advocating a call to action.
And they list that they are encouraging people to apply pressure to the businesses that allow R. Kelly to continue his career.
That means Spotify, Apple Music, RCA Records, Ticketmaster.
It also means the Greensboro Coliseum Complex where his May 11 N.C. concert is scheduled to take place.
Their aim is to cancel this concert, and to end his career.
Sex monsters should face justice. At the very least, they should not be allowed to continue to rake in profits in front of adoring fans who turn a blind eye to allegations because they like somebody’s music.
Kelly’s management has responded to this call for justice, saying:
“R. Kelly supports the pro-women goals of the Time’s Up movement.”
Uh-huh.
“We understand criticizing a famous artist is a good way to draw attention to those goals — and in this case, it is unjust and off-target.”
Sure.
“We fully support the rights of women to be empowered to make their own choices. Time’s Up has neglected to speak with any of the women who welcome R. Kelly’s support, and it has rushed to judgment without the facts.”
One might wonder why anyone who has heard the testimony of Kelly’s alleged victims would bother to interview women who are believed to be still under his control.
“Soon it will become clear Mr. Kelly is the target of a greedy, conscious and malicious conspiracy to demean him, his family and the women with whom he spends his time.”
Would you care to guess which defense Kelly’s team not-so-subtly employs?
“R. Kelly’s music is a part of American and African-American culture that should never –and will never — be silenced.”
Racism is real and systemic, but it is not behind this push — which, notably, was brought forward by women of color. Women of color not unlike Kelly’s accusers.
“Since America was born, black men and women have been lynched for having sex or for being accused of it.”
Sadly, this is true. It’s not relevant to this. The accusations against R. Kelly would put him more in line with people who forced enslaved black women to have sex.
“We will vigorously resist this attempted public lynching of a black man who has made extraordinary contributions to our culture.”
Calling this a “lynching” is shameful. And it would be even if these allegations were all false.

Paul Manafort: Former Trump Campaign Chairman Indicted By Federal Authorities
Greasy political operative and rejected Goodfellas extra Paul Manafort has turned himself in to the FBI after being indicted on a number of federal charges.
The indictments against Manafort are the first to result from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Manafort’s former business associate Rick Gates was also charged this morning.
Mueller obtained grand jury indictments on Friday, but until today, it was not known which members of the Trump campaign would be instructed to turn themselves over to authorities.
The indictments are set to be unsealed momentarily.
Manafort joined the Trump campaign in March of 2016.
Three months later, Manafort, Donald Trump Jr., and Jared Kushner met with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya, who informed them he was holding information that he claimed would prove beneficial to the efforts to sabotage Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
In August of 2016, Manafort’s ties to Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych became a source of controversy, as it was revealed that he had illegally received $ 12.7 million in off-the-books funds from the Party of Regions.
That same week, Manafort resigned from the campaign.
Details regarding the charges against Manafort and Gates are unknown at this time.
Several media outlets are reporting that they’ve reached out to both men’s attorneys for comment, but have received no response.
Whatever the case, the indictments signal the start of a new phase in Mueller’s investigation of the Trump campaign.
At the heart of the investigation is the question of whether or not Trump’s firing of former FBI director James Comey amounts to obstruction of justice.
Mueller is taking a wide-ranging approach to the matter, probing the Trump campaign’s financial dealings with Russia in order to determine if the president and his team had incentive to try and silence Comey.
In July, the FBI raided Manafort’s Alexandria, Virginia, seizing a number of financial and tax documents.
We will have further details about this developing story as more information becomes available.
UPDATE: The Manafort and Gates indictments have been unsealed. We niw know that the charges include “conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading FARA statements, false statements, and seven counts of failure to file reports of foreign bank and financial accounts.”

Kathy Griffin: Axed from Ad Campaign Due to Bloody Donald Trump Photo
The fallout has only just begun for Kathy Griffin.
On Tuesday night, the unfunny comedian had the very unfunny idea to share a video in which she pretends to behead the sitting President of the United States.
And it did not go as she apparently (somehow) believed it would.
Along with the following footage, which she posted on Twitter, Griffin hurled Donald Trump’s words back at him as a caption, writing yesterday:
“there was blood coming out of his eyes, blood coming out of his…wherever.”
This was a callback to what Trump said about Megyn Kelly followed a Republican Presidential debate in 2016, and Griffin likely thought she was being hilarious by using it in such a different context.
But all sane-minded individuals have disagreed with her.
With both Democrats and Republicans slamming the Z-Lister for being vile, inappropriate, disgusting and every other negative adjective in the book, Griffin issued an apology a few hours after this video went live.
It didn’t mince words and it appeared to be from the heart.
“I sincerely apologize,” she said as a mea culpa, adding:
“I am just now seeing the reaction of these images. … I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny. I get it.”
Check out the apology video below:
Despite this attempt to walk back her actions, Griffin is reportedly under investigation by the Secret Service.
It is illegal, of course, to threaten the life of a sitting President.
Did Griffin really do this? Will she actually be charged with a crime? It seems very unlikely.
But that doesn’t mean the star won’t face some major consequences in her professional life.
For example, Squatty Potty – a company that produces a foot stool that elevates users as they sit on the toilet – announced this afternoon that it will be dropping the comedian from its upcoming ad campaign.
And while we can’t help but have a million questions over just why Griffin was hired for this role to begin with… that isn’t the point right now.
“We were shocked and disappointed to learn about the image Ms. Griffin shared today, it was deeply inappropriate and runs contrary to the core values our company stands for,” said Bobby Edwards, CEO of the small Utah-based business, in a statement.
He added:
“In response, Squatty Potty has suspended its ad campaign featuring Ms. Griffin. We have acted swiftly and decisively to demonstrate our commitment to a culture of decency, civility, and tolerance.”
Trump has also responded to Griffin’s grotesque beheading photo.
In a statement that did NOT involve any viral typos, he lashed out at the comedian as follows:
“Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!”
And Donald Trump Jr. used Squatty Potty’s decision to slam CNN.
With the network yet to decide whether or will continue to use Griffin for its upcoming New Year’s Eve coverage, Trump Jr. went ahead and attacked his dad’s favorite target.
“So Squatty Potty pulls the plug on Kathy Griffin, but CNN still ‘evaluating’ and weighing their options,” he wrote. “Insane what’s going on there!!!”
He later added:
“Apologies for my last tweet I didn’t mean to group “Squatty Potty” w @CNN. Obviously one of them has moral/ethical standards.”
Ouch! Dissed… and dismissed!
(UPDATE: We wrote too soon. Within minutes of publishing this story, CNN announced it has, indeed, pulled Griffin from future New Year’s Eve telecasts.)
But it’s not only members of Trump’s family who are taking shots at Griffin.
Nor is the backlash reserved for Conservatives.
Democrats are maybe even more irritated by her actions, considering she’s given the Right ammunition at a time when that side has been on the constant defensive as a result of Trump’s never-ending string of scandals.
Tweeted Anderson Cooper, for example, Griffin’s usual CNN co-host for New Year’s Eve coverage:
For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in,” Cooper tweeted on Tuesday. “It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.

Scott Disick: Revenge Sex Campaign Pisses Off Kardashians
As you may have heard, Scott Disick is really living the high life these days.
Unfortunately, in order to keep the party going, he’s transformed into the ultimate low life.
Disick is doing what he’s always done during his hiatuses from Kourtney Kardashian – traveling the world, drinking way too much, and hooking up with women nearly young enough to be his daughters.
This time, however, there’s a malevolent motive to his partying.
Insiders say Scott is extremely pissed off that Kourtney Kardashian is dating Younes Bendjima.
So much so that all of his recent shenanigans are reportedly less about Scott’s desire to bang 19-year-olds, and more about to his determination to publicly humiliate Kourtney.
Kourtney has dated other men during her breakups with Scott before, but apparently this time it’s getting serious, and Scott is worried about losing his place in the Kard clan.
In fact, there’s already been talk of Younes replacing Scott on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
For some reason, Scott thinks the answer to this is to publicly hook up with Bella Thorne, Sofia Richie, and Chloe Bartoli, all while getting sh-tfaced in Cannes.
He seems to think Kourtney will be driven mad with jealousy and feel that she has no choice but to take him back.
Unfortunately for Scott, sources close to the mother of three say the plan is backfiring spectacularly.
TMZ is reporting today that Disick has completely alienated the entire Kardashian clan.
Even his biggest ally, Khloe Kardashian, has reportedly turned her back as a result of Scott’s recent behavior.
Sources say the family is especially pissed about the fact that Scott is making a point of being photographed with all his new flings, thus ensuring that the evidence will on on the Internet.
The family understandably doesn’t want Scott’s kids to learn they have a douche for a daddy, and they feel that Scott is making it impossible to hide that sad truth.
Interestingly, Scott is reportedly maintaining a relationship with exactly one member of the extended Kard clan.
Disick and Kris Jenner’s house-flipping show is apparently still a go, and it recently wrapped filming on season one.
We’re sure Kourtney is thrilled about her mom’s latest venture.

#FireColbert Campaign Breaks Out Over Host"s Trump Joke
Stephen Colbert has Donald Trump to thank for his surge in recent ratings.
Ever since the 45th President of the United States was sworn in, Colbert has held little back in slamming the ill-informed and self-obsessed POTUS, flying past Jimmy Fallon as the most-watch late-night talk show as a result.
Viewers have clearly been tuning in to see what Colbert will say about Trump next.
On Monday night, however, many were stunned by how Colbert responded to Trump slamming John Dickerson of CBS News.
“Sir, you attract more skinheads than free Rogaine,” Colbert said toward the end of the insult-laden rant, adding:
“You have more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign language gorilla that got hit in the head.
"In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s cock holster.”
WHOA THERE!
It was this final comment that some think crossed a line. As you"re about to see below, it has led to a #FireColbert campaign on Twitter, with critics calling for the comedian"s job…
