Rose McGowan: The #MeToo Movement is a Useless Fraud!

If you see everyone around you as your enemy, pretty soon, your perception will become reality.

That is what Rose McGowen is experiencing right now. As Rose lashes out at “fake” Hollywood activism, she is now taking aim at the #MeToo movement.

She’s skewering friends and allies and saying that #MeToo is just a bunch of lies.

In a no-holds-barred interview with The Sunday Times, Rose McGowan puts #MeToo on blast. And she doesn’t mince words about her “friends,” either.

“It’s all bulls–t,” Rose says dismissively.

When it comes to Hollywood’s activism against the pervasive issue of sexual assault, she says: “It’s a lie.”

“They’re not champions” of anything, Rose claims.

As Rose sees the #MeToo movement, “It’s a Band-Aid lie to make them feel better.”

“I know these people,” Rose reminds readers.

“I know they’re lily-livered,” Rose continues. “And as long as it looks good on the surface, to them, that’s enough.”

(Not to distract from this very serious topic and her criticisms, but … we haven’t heard anyone in real life unironically say lily-livered since … ever)

Rose continues to disparage the most outspoken voices of #MeToo and #TimesUp.

“I just think they’re losers,” Rose says.

Rose McGowan was one of the first to come forward, publicly, about Harvey Weinstein.

Even before that, she told the world that she had been sexually assaulted by a then-unnamed Hollywood executive.

Rose also accused others of having known, even though public figures such as Meryl Streep assured her that she didn’t know about Weinstein.

Well, Rose isn’t buying Meryl’s denial.

Rose claims that it is “literally impossible” for Meryl to have not known about Weinstein’s crimes.

That sounds a little hypocritical from the woman who’s just recently tried to distance herself from Asia Argento.

Not everyone knows what their friends are up to.

Rose even sides with Trump supporters, of all people, on one issue — Hollywood.

“They hate Hollywood for being faux liberals,” Rose says. “And they’re 100 percent right about that.”

(Just a quick point of order — we somehow doubt that Trump’s crowd has issues with Hollywood being inauthentic liberals)

“It’s a bunch of faux liberals,” Rose continues. “It’s crap, and they know it is deep down.”

“But they’re living an empty life, and to me that’s their punishment,” Rose says. “They get to live the lives they live.”

Plenty of people would happily trade authenticity for glamor and millions.

Rose also discussed Alyssa Milano in a Nightline interview.

Once upon a time, the two of them were co-stars on Charmed. And Alyssa has been an outspoken participant in #MeToo and #TimesUp.

“I don’t like her,” Rose said simply.

She explains — sort of — why she’s eager to throw her former co-star and fellow activist under the proverbial bus.

Rose explained: “Because I think she’s a lie.”

“Do you think I don’t know these people?” Rose said. “Do the math.”

She is referring to Alyssa’s husband, Hollywood agent David Bugliari.

“Who’s behind Time’s Up? CAA,” Rose said. “Where do they meet? CAA?”

“Who needs good PR? CAA,” Rose continued. “Who are part of the pimp problem? CAA.”

She seems to be portraying Alyssa’s activism — perhaps everyone’s activism — as a front to avoid truly addressing the issues.

Alyssa Milano responded to Rose’s hurtful words.

“I am and always have been completely supportive of Rose and admire her bravery and speaking out about her experiences,” Alyssa said.

“My goal throughout the past few months with both #MeToo and the TimesUp movement,” she explained. “Has been to use my platform to give others a voice.”

Alyssa concluded that she does this “so we can all work together to stamp out sexual harassment and sexual assault.”

Rose McGowan is such a complicated person. You feel sympathy for the horrors that she endured, but she sometimes seems to find unfair targets in her zeal.

We don’t mean that she falsely accuses people of sexual assault — but that some perceive her as being too quick to point the finger at alleged conspirators.

As we said about Meryl and about Rose herself where Asia Argento is concerned, not everyone knows what their friends are up to.

The #MeToo movement has made tremendous strides in changing the culture in America from one that automatically blames victims of sexual assault.

Many people — especially privileged men — have had their eyes opened by hearing about the horrors that go on that they never personally experience.

It’s Rose’s right to think that it’s not enough. But it may be unfair to question the motives of the courageous women who are leading the charge.

Lindsay Lohan Is "Canceled Forever" After Bashing #MeToo Movement

In a perplexing interview, Lindsay Lohan slammed the #MeToo movement … and said that coming forward with allegations of sexual abuse makes the accusers "look weak."

"I think by women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak," Lindsay said. "When they are very strong women."

As if that weren"t bad enough, she then went on to imply that maybe some of the young women shared harrowing stories of sexual harassment, abuse, and even rape were just in it for, you guessed it, "attention."

While that has been debunked time and time again, a lot of people were outraged and horrified.

We can only guess that they had forgotten that Lindsay had supported Harvey Weinstein, of all people, and encouraged his wife to stand by him.

Aisha Tyler, like so many others, took to social media to slam Lindsay.

When Aisha announced that Lindsay is canceled, it prompted a lot of discussion. Take a look:

1. Aisha Tyler said what many were thinking

Lindsay lohan slammed and canceled tweets 01 aisha

Aisha received a lot of thoughtful responses. And also a lot of less thoughtful replies.

2. A classic internet burn

Lindsay lohan slammed and canceled tweets 02 who

This is obviously a joke, poking fun at the fact that Lindsay hasn’t really been culturally relevant for about a decade.

3. Survivors spoke up

Lindsay lohan slammed and canceled tweets 03 tough not weak

This tweet is absolutely right — speaking up takes a tremendous amount of strength.

4. Others chimed in with support

Lindsay lohan slammed and canceled tweets 04 courage

Speaking truth to power is a brave act.

5. As the young people say: we been knew

Lindsay lohan slammed and canceled tweets 05 been canceled

In other words, Lindsay Lohan was canceled a long time ago, in this person’s eyes.

6. Others were more sympathetic

Lindsay lohan slammed and canceled tweets 06 care about brokenne

A lot of people believe that Lindsay Lohan was just saying in the interview what she tells herself about her own life.

Emmy Rossum Reveals Her Weight as Part of "I Weigh" Movement

Emmy Rossum is beautiful and talented, and has starred on television and in films.

In the past, she has used her voice to scold anti-Semitic Trump supporters. Now, she is lending her fame and platform to a very powerful movement.

She is sharing her weight, and the answer may surprise you.

Emmy took to Instagram to ask her fans and followers: “Want to know what I weigh?”

In case you’re thinking no thanks, I’m not that intrusive, know that she’s posting this herself.

And that second of all, there’s much more to this than a number on the scale. In fact, that is the whole point.

“Click on my stories,” Emmy encourages her followers. “@i_weigh BECAUSE YOU AE SO MUCH MORE THAN A NUMBER”

She tags I Weigh, which is a powerful campaign. And as you see her posts, you understand what the campaign is all about.

Emmy tells her followers that the scale, though a useful tool, does not reveal the be all and end all of a person’s value.

“During my life,” Emmy writes. “The scale has told me that I’ve gained and lost and gained and lost.”

It is, for everyone, an endless cycle of both gains and losses.

Emmy reveals that she has oscillated “somewhere in the range of 20 pounds. But that piece of metal doesn’t really know.”

“Here,” Emmy writes. “Is what I ACTUALLY WEIGH.”

Emmy then shares an image that lists her qualities — the substance of wh she is.

“3 best friends since kindergarten, drive, kindness, empathy,” Emmy lists.

“Makes friends with strangers, Jewish and proud, Daughter,” Emmy adds. “100+ hours of television.”

That’s not about watching TV — that means that she has appeared on 100 hours of television, which is true — honestly, her role on Shameless covered almost that much.

“The courage it takes everyday to overcome ptsd, one happy marriage, 3 episodes of television directed,” Emmy continues.

Emmy adds: “countless hours of therapy, one finished screenplay, and animal rescuer.”

She then shares an image that adds to that.

“See,” Emmy writes. “When you add up everything you are??”

You’re a lot more than how hard this planet’s gravity pulls you towards its center, that’s for sure.

Emmy writes: “The size of your thighs don’t really matter anymore do they?!”

“So join me in this,” Emmy says. “Show people what you are actually made of. Because you are so much more than a f–king number.”

Obviously, it is normal for weight to go up and down — but several pounds.

Factors like when you last ate, when you last went to the bathroom, how hydrated you are, and even the weather that day can change what the scale says about you.

Emmy and the I Weigh campaign are exactly right — that number on the scale does not tell you your value.

Some may cynically point out that Emmy Rossum is a famously gorgeous woman who has never in her life weighed anything outside of what society considers “extremely good” or “perfect.”

But she is lending her voice to a very good campaign, and her voice matters. Some people would sadly refuse to hear this from a woman twice her size.

Lindsay Lohan Slams #MeToo Movement: These Women Are Weak!

Lindsay Lohan has been back in the news lately, which is exciting if you’re the kind of person who reflects fondly on Charlie Sheen’s meltdown, but highly triggering if you’re disturbed by the sight of track marks wending their way through an archipelago of ginger freckles.

We kid LiLo, of course.

By most accounts, the actress-turned-wannabe-reality-star is sober(-ish) these days — which makes her latest comments all the more baffling.

In case you’ve been blissfully unaware, Lohan is currently filming a new show for MTV, a reality series that’s been described as a “docu-series” focusing on Lindsay’s eponymous nightclub in Greece.

Sources say the show was “inspired” by the Bravo hit Vanderpump Rules (read: it’ll be a lame attempt to piggyback on that series’ success).

The show just started shooting and it’s not set to debut until next year, but Lohan is already basking in the media attention generated by news of the project.

And proving once again that you can take the girl out of Hollywood but you can’t stop her from saying idiotic things, Lindsay is already shooting herself in the foot every chance she gets.

During a recent interview, Lohan was asked about her thoughts regarding the #MeToo movement that’s shedding light on the rampant sexual assault and harassment that’s been plaguing Hollywood for decades.

Lindsay began by stating that she doesn’t “really have anything to say” … and she should have just left it there.

Instead, she pressed on with the sort of comments that would be career-ruiners — if Lindsay still had a career left to ruin.

“I can’t speak on something I don’t live, right? Look, I am very supportive of women. Everyone goes through their own experiences in their own ways,” Lohan began.

For reasons that defy logic or explanation, she went on to argue that victims discredit themselves by not reporting abuse immediately:

“If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment,” Lohan said.

“You make it a real thing by making it a police report,” she added.

“I’m going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think by women speaking against these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women.”

Oof. Obviously the part about sexual assault survivors looking “weak” is getting the most attention on social media today, but this statement is atrocious for so many other reasons, as well.

Imagine telling an abuse survivor that their attack wasn’t “real” because they failed to report it prior to a deadline that exists only in Lindsay Lohan’s mind.

Hopefully, Lindsay doesn’t really believe this stuff, and she’s still just working as a mouthpiece for various foreign governments.

But if that’s the case, she should probably tell us soon before she’s forced to hire Paul Manafort’s legal team.

R. Kelly: The Time"s Up Movement Launches #MuteRKelly Campaign

R. Kelly is accused of keeping and training women as “pets” in a captive harem. We’ve heard the horrifying allegations about Kelly’s sex cult, and multiple women who escaped have shared their stories.

Despite all of this, his career is still going strong. He has a concert scheduled for next week.

And the Time’s Up movement is coming for him.

Time’s Up released a statement, specifically from women of color within their ranks.

“As women of color within Time’s Up, we recognize that we have a responsibility to help right this wrong. We intend to shine a bright light on our WOC sisters in need. It is our hope that we will never feel ignored or silenced ever again.”

(If you don’t read a lot of intersectional feminist writing, WOC is an abbreviation for women of color)

“The recent court decision against Bill Cosby is one step toward addressing these ills, but it is just a start.”

Cosby was found guilty at his retrial, in what many see as a triumphant blow against sex monsters who have gone too long without facing justice.

“We call on people everywhere to join with us to insist on a world in which women of all kinds can pursue their dreams free from sexual assault, abuse and predatory behavior.”

And they see their next focus as R. Kelly.

“To this end, today we join an existing online campaign called #MuteRKelly.”

R. Kelly is believed to have targeted and “trained” numerous women, including minor girls, to serve him sexually.

Survivors accuse him of iinflicting punishments such as isolation, food-deprivation, and physical beatings to these women.

“Over the past 25 years, the man known publicly as R. Kelly has sold 60 million albums, toured the globe repeatedly, and accumulated hundreds of millions of plays on radio and streaming services.”

The document then lists the horrifying accusations against R. Kelly, including:

He “married a girl under 18 years of age.”

He “was sued by at least four women for sexual misconduct, statutory rape, aggravated assault, unlawful restraint and furnishing illegal drugs to a minor.”

He “was indicted on 21 counts of child pornography.”

He “has faced allegations of sexual abuse and imprisonment of women under threats of violence and familial harm.”

Notice that Time’s Up is not really issuing any accusations, simply repeating provable facts such as indictments and allegations.

Time’s Up has more to say than just briefly touching upon the accusations against R. Kelly.

They are advocating a call to action.

And they list that they are encouraging people to apply pressure to the businesses that allow R. Kelly to continue his career.

That means Spotify, Apple Music, RCA Records, Ticketmaster.

It also means the Greensboro Coliseum Complex where his May 11 N.C. concert is scheduled to take place.

Their aim is to cancel this concert, and to end his career.

Sex monsters should face justice. At the very least, they should not be allowed to continue to rake in profits in front of adoring fans who turn a blind eye to allegations because they like somebody’s music.

Kelly’s management has responded to this call for justice, saying:

“R. Kelly supports the pro-women goals of the Time’s Up movement.”

Uh-huh.

“We understand criticizing a famous artist is a good way to draw attention to those goals — and in this case, it is unjust and off-target.”

Sure.

“We fully support the rights of women to be empowered to make their own choices. Time’s Up has neglected to speak with any of the women who welcome R. Kelly’s support, and it has rushed to judgment without the facts.”

One might wonder why anyone who has heard the testimony of Kelly’s alleged victims would bother to interview women who are believed to be still under his control.

“Soon it will become clear Mr. Kelly is the target of a greedy, conscious and malicious conspiracy to demean him, his family and the women with whom he spends his time.”

Would you care to guess which defense Kelly’s team not-so-subtly employs?

“R. Kelly’s music is a part of American and African-American culture that should never –and will never — be silenced.”

Racism is real and systemic, but it is not behind this push — which, notably, was brought forward by women of color. Women of color not unlike Kelly’s accusers.

“Since America was born, black men and women have been lynched for having sex or for being accused of it.”

Sadly, this is true. It’s not relevant to this. The accusations against R. Kelly would put him more in line with people who forced enslaved black women to have sex.

“We will vigorously resist this attempted public lynching of a black man who has made extraordinary contributions to our culture.”

Calling this a “lynching” is shameful. And it would be even if these allegations were all false.

#BoycottRoseanne Movement Grows in Wake of Comedian"s Return, Nazi Comment

Roseanne Barr is very much back.

The veteran comedian and actress – who fell so far out of the spotlight and grew so desperate for attention over the years that she tried to seduce Kanye West – returned in a major way this week:

The revival of her beloved sitcom attracted 18.2 million viewers on Tuesday night, a truly astounding figure in this day and age of entertainment.

But is Roseanne Barr back… and better than ever?

Yes, if one is referring to the effective ways in which Barr stirs up controversy.

An outspoken Donald Trump supporter, Roseanne has modeled the fictional version of herself after this real-life version…

… but it’s something Barr recently said in real life that has many folks around the Internet pushing for a boycott of her series.

On March 24, Parkland shooting victim David Hogg addressed a huge crowd at the Washington D.C. March for Our Lives and, at one point, raised his fist high in the air.

He did so to inspire those around the country to rally around him and other school shooting survivors on the topic of sensible gun control.

But some folks out there somehow interpreted this as a Nazi salute.

Roseanne was apparently among these folks.

At least one Twitter user captured screenshots of Roseanne’s verified Twitter account (which is named Roseanne Barr with the handle “therealroseanne”) sending a message that tagged Hogg and read simply:

“NAZI SALUTE.”

See for yourself:

(NOTE: If we need to explain to you how this is NOT a Nazi salute… well.. we just can’t. We don’t have the mental energy. You’re already a lost cause.)

As a result of this Roseanne statement, a movement has grown around social media; or a hashtag, to be more precise and relevant.

A handful of critics are encouraging others to #BoycottRoseanne, while railing against the sitcom and its star in general:

It came out on Thursday, meanwhile, that President Trump actually called to congratulate Roseanne on the success of her television return.

She said as much during an appearance on Good Morning America.

“It was pretty exciting, I’ll tell you that much,” Barr said on air. “I’ve known him for many years and he’s done a lot of nice things for me over the years.”

On her rebooted series, Roseanne’s family has been torn apart by the 2016 Presidential election.

Tension and anger runs high among all relatives, most notably Roseanne and her sister, portrayed by Laurie Metcalf.

“I just wanted to have that dialogue about families torn apart by the election and their political differences of opinion and how we handle it,” Barr told the New York Times in an interview published on Tuesday.

She added that it was her idea for the Roseanne character to be a Trump supporter.

This is why:

“It’s an accurate portrayal of these people and people like them.

“In terms of what they think, and who they feel when they are the ones who send their kids over to fight.

“We’ve been in wars for a long, long time, which everybody seems to forget, but working class people don’t forget it because their kids are in it.”

As a reminder, this is how Roseanne once sang the national anthem:

Amber Rose Slams #MeToo Movement; Does She Have a Point?

Outspoken feminist icon Amber Rose has spoken up about her frustrations with the #MeToo movement.

But unlike other critics of this trend, she"s not a man with something to hide who fears that he"ll be exposed next.

She"s also not one of those thoroughly unwoke women who have been so shaped by the culture that they"ll defend predators and shame victims just to feel accepted in the "boys club."

No, Amber has built a reputation based on sex positivity and intersectional awareness for years now.

Fans know her for her famous SlutWalk, and now those same fans are signing up in droves for her mysterious Slutbox, which we"ll get to in a minute.

This is a woman who works to reclaim derogatory terms and make them empowering, and make no mistake, she"s not condemning anyone for coming forward with their harrowing experiences.

So what is her issue with the #MeToo movement?

It"s complicated, but she lays it out clearly …

1. Amber Rose starts by explaining exactly why she’s frustrated

Amber rose explains complicated issues

“With the #MeToo movement,” Amber explains. “It’s kind of very frustrating to me, because all of the sudden feminism became such a mainstream thing … now that white — no shade — white, rich actresses starting coming out and saying ‘me too, me too."”

2. #MeToo, she says, didn’t say anything that marginalized groups haven’t been saying for decades

Amber rose speaks

“But what happened to all of us?” Amber continues. “What happened to the strippers and the LGBTQ community and the black girls in college?”

3. Rose touches on a related topic that white Hollywood too often forgets

Amber rose in a cap

“And going past that … black women don’t even make half as much as white women in movies.”

4. She’s right, by the way

Amber rose all smiles

The gender pay gap is real — in Hollywood and in most other industries. But what non-intersectional feminists so often forget to mention is that as white women make less than white men, women of color make even less than white women. It’s heartbreaking.

5. And Amber explains what, sadly, she believes it will take to make that change

The amber rose stare

“I really feel like it’s going to take, unfortunately, a white actress to come out and say ‘Hey, black women need to make as much as we do in movies,’ for there to actually be a change.”

6. Amber is exactly right about that, plain and simple

Octavia spencer and jessica chastain

This isn’t hypothetical. Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer recently revealed that as she and friend Jessica Chastain were talking about the gender pay gap when Octavia mentioned to her that it was even worse for women of color in Hollywood.

George Clooney Donates $500,000 to Gun Control Movement

George Clooney has put a lot of money where his outspoken voice is.

Allow us to explain…

Earlier this month, students who survived this month’s horrific shooting Marjory Stoneman Douglas in Parkland, Florida announced that they were organizing a march for Sunday, March 24.

Set up by classmates Jacqueline Coren, Emma Gonzalez, Cameron Kasky, David Hogg and Alex Wind, the “March for Our Lives” will call attention to the need for this nation to impose stricter gun control legislation.

And Clooney wants to do his part to help.

“Amal and I are so inspired by the courage and eloquence of these young men and women from Stoneman Douglas High School,” the actor said in a statement.

He added:

“Our family will be there on March 24 to stand side by side with this incredible generation of young people from all over the country, and in the name of our children Ella and Alexander, we’re donating $ 500,000 to help pay for this groundbreaking event.

“Our children’s lives depend on it.”

On the morning the above students announced their plan, they did so by saying they will take to the streets “to demand that their lives and safety become a priority.”

They said their goal is to “end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools.”

Last Wednesday, a 19-year-old former student went on a rampage with a semiautomatic AR-15-style assault rifle, killing 17 young men and women, along with faculty members.

In the following days, the heroic survivors of this massacre have refused to remain silent.

They’ve hammered politicians for accepting donations from the National Rifle Association and made it clear they will not rest until new laws are enacted.

Many celebrities, such as Lady Gaga, have spoken out in support of this cause.

In their mission statement for the March of Life, these students said the following:

School safety is not a political issue. There cannot be two sides to doing everything in our power to ensure the lives and futures of children who are at risk of dying when they should be learning, playing, and growing.

The mission and focus of March for Our Lives is to demand that a comprehensive and effective bill be immediately brought before Congress to address these gun issues.

No special interest group, no political agenda is more critical than timely passage of legislation to effectively address the gun violence issues that are rampant in our country.

Every kid in this country now goes to school wondering if this day might be their last. We live in fear.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Change is coming…

Clooney and his wife, meanwhile, are known for donating large sums of money to political causes.

Last year, they gave $ 1 million to the Southern Poverty Law Center following a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, that led to counter-protests and the death of a woman.

Wendy Williams: Ugh, I Am So Sick of the #MeToo Movement!

Wendy Williams has had it, people.

She’s sick and tired, alright?!?

She just can’t handle any more women coming out and feeling empowered and calling out men who have sexually harassed or assaulted them.

Seriously… enough already with this nonsense!

We wish we were being sarcastic and silly, but the obnoxious talk show host really did say essentially this during her ridiculous “Hot Topics” segment on Friday.

“So there’s a grassroot movement to remove R. Kelly’s music…or remove R. Kelly from the music industry forever,” Williams explained to her audience, asking:

“What is this 10 years too late? Really?”

For the record: R. Kelly is an awful human being.

Videotapes exist of him urinating on underage girls in bed and he’s basically running a sex cult as we type.

So… yeah. Maybe this movement to bring the artist’s hideous behavior to light is a little bit late, but better than never, no?

Continued Williams on this subject:

“Two Atlanta women are really upset that R. Kelly has had a career despite decades of troubling accusations…so they have now created a hashtag #MuteRKelly.

“It’s not gonna work. Black people aren’t really good at protesting. Not since the King march…it’s not going to work.”

Black people aren’t really good at protesting.

We’re just gonna leave that sentence there and let Wendy’s message sink in.

Why even bother trying, African-Americans? There’s no need to stand up for anything you believe in, according to this sage talk show host.

Williams then returned to the topic of protesting a few minutes later, setting her sights on the courageous women who have come out to take down such sexual deviants as Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer, Louis CK and countless others.

“I’m sick of this #MeToo movement,” she said, in all seriousness, explaining thusly:

“I love that people are speaking up for the first time and coming out and everything, but now it’s got…I look at all men like, ‘You’re a #MeToo.’

“All of ‘em, all of ‘em, which is not fair.”

There’s a really simple answer to this problem, Wendy.

Are you ready for it? Okay, here goes…

Actually listen to the stories of these women and then determine which men deserve to wear such a label and which do not.

Yes, listen to other people. That’s all you need to do here.

We know it’s asking a lot.

This isn’t the first time Williams have stated a cruel and misguided opinion just to make headlines.

It isn’t the 279th time, either.

It’s all she knows how to do. It’s the only reason she exists.

Earlier this month, Williams bashed Oprah for being fat, called Carrie Underwood a liar and told Kylie Jenner her baby would be ugly.

She is a terrible human being.

The sooner the world comes to this obvious realization, the better.
