Last week, it was widely reported that Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell were set to get married on Saturday, August 26.
Of course, that date came and went, and the only big announcement from the Duggar clan in the days since has been the news that Joy-Anna is expecting her first child.
It’s safe to say that Joe and Kendra didn’t get hitched and decide to keep the wedding a secret.
So when will the young couple finally tie the knot?
It’s a good question–and one that the Duggars don’t want us to know the answer to.
A statement posted to the family’s official website today addresses the confusion over the wedding date, but remains vague with regard to details about the big day:
“It won’t be long before wedding bells will be ringing for the Duggar family once again!” the post reads.
“Can you believe that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar will soon have six married children? It seems like just yesterday when all the kiddos were minors living under one roof.”
From there, the statement acknowledges that Joe and Kendra have been engaged for slightly longer than the Duggar norm, but does not offer any specific information about when they’ll exchange vows.
“Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell have been engaged for almost 14 weeks, and their big day is quickly approaching,” it reads.
“Out of respect for the couple, we will not be sharing the date just yet, but rest assured we will post plenty of pictures and footage after the fact.”
Yes, the Duggars are quite keen about keeping the whole thing on the down-low, which makes sense, given how obsessive some of their fans can be.
We’ve seen Duggar wedding invitations in the past, and they often come with instructions to the recipient to keep the date a secret.
Of course, the fact that the family made any statement at all has many convinced that the wedding is this weekend.
Obviously, we won’t know anything for certain until the big day finally arrives, but you can be sure the speculation will continue until the moment Joe and Kendra are introduced to the world as man and wife.
