Kailyn Lowry can finally reveal the name of her third son.
Yes, we know, the Teen Mom star actually did this back in October, telling fans that her latest child is named Lux Russell and that he was born on August 5, 2017.
She also added that Lux"s last name was Lowry… but was it really?
Was it legally?
At the time, that answer was no.
At the time, she was still battling over this issue with ex-boyfriend Chris Lopez.
Now, however, several months later?
Scroll down to learn why Kailyn can state her son"s full name with the certainty, due to a new official ruling…
1. Meet Lux Russell… LOWRY!
As first reported by Radar Online, a clerk from Kent County Court of Common Pleas said on April 11 that Kailyn’s name change petition was granted on April 11. She had filed the request on November 13, 2017.
2. A Name Change Petition, Huh?
This would seem to imply that the child’s original name, on his birth certificate, was actually Lopez, after his biological father, Chris. Neither Chris nor Kailyn has ever claimed the two were especially close at any point.
3. Lux, Of Course, is Kailyn’s Third Child
She has a seven-year old named Isaac with ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera and a four-year old named Lincoln with ex-husband Javi Marroquin. She did have close relationships with those past lovers for a long time — but this simply was never the case with Chris Lopez.
4. Lux and Daddy
In March of 2018, Lowry dissed Lopez as an “Instagram parent” after he posted a photo of their son online, to which he replied that a person who “literally made a living off of putting kids on TV and social media” shouldn’t talk.
5. Like We Said, Things Were Contentious For Awhile
Just how contentious? Lowry said in December that Lopez is only entitled to “supervised visits” with his son, but these could at least take place anywhere, as long as a third party was in the picture.
6. Lopez and Lowry, Back in the Day
Lopez was sort of around when Lux was born in August, but he never signed any forms at the hospital stating paternity, likely so Lowry can’t ever file for child support. He was simply in the room when his son was born.
