Meghan Markle and Prince Harry: Wedding Party Revealed!

On Wednesday, Kensington Palace announced some happy news about the upcoming Royal Wedding: the names of the bridesmaids and pageboys.

Perhaps the announcement was scheduled, or perhaps it was to deflect from the drama of Meghan Markle’s father’s tragic heart attack and not attending the wedding.

Whatever the reason, the bridal party news is welcome — and sounds like it will be adorable.

First thing’s first:

Prince George, who is 4 years old, and Princess Charlotte, who is 3 years old, will lead the bridal party.

This is their uncle Harry’s wedding, after all.

Last May, the two played similar roles in their aunt Pippa Middleton’s wedding.

This is going to be precious beyond reason.

Other members of the bridal party will include Harry and Meghan’s godchildren and children of their friends.

One such person joining them will be Miss Florence van Cutsem, 3, daughter of Alice van Cutsem and Major Nicholas van Cutsem, who is a goddaughter of Prince Harry.

If the name “van Cutsem” rings a bell for you, it’s not from Gossip Girl. Florence’s cousin, Grace van Cutsem, was a bridesmaid for William and Kate’s Royal Wedding.

But Harry isn’t the only one with goddaughters.

Miss Remi Litt, who is 6 years old, and her sister Rylan, who is 7, are daughters of Benita Litt, who is a LA-based brand curator and bag designer, and Darren Litt.

Remi and Rylan are Meghan’s goddaughters.

Miss Ivy Mulroney, who is 4, is the daughter of Jessica Mulroney, a stylist friend of Meghan’s who has been assisting her.

Ivy’s father just happens to be Benedict Mulroney, who is the son of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

Then there’s Miss Zalie Warren, who is only 2. She is the daughter of Zoe Warren and Jake Warren.

Zalie is Harry’s goddaughter.

Then there is Jasper Dyer, age 6. Jasper is the son of Prince Harry’s old friend and mentor, Mark Dyer by his American wife, Amanda.

There’s more to this Royal Wedding than an assembly of adorable, posh children.

Earlier this month, Kensington Palace announced other news about the bridal party.

Meghan Markle herself is not going to single out anyone to be her Maid of Honor.

“She has a very close-knit circle of friends and she didn’t want to choose one over another.”

That is very understandable. And of course, the pressure is stronger than ever, given that this is the biggest wedding on the planet.

“All have been actively involved in helping her prepare for the day and will be there in the days beforehand.”

So of course she can’t play favorites. Normally, a sister could take that role, but Meghan’s vulture of a sister is obviously not a candidate.

“She’s very happy to have their support.”

Prince Harry, of course, will have Prince William as his Best Man — the role that Harry played for him at his 2011 wedding.

But this news comes on the heels of reports about Meghan Markle’s father’s drama.

Not only did he suffer a heart attack, but he was also embroiled in a scandal for allegedly posing for what amount to staged paparazzi photos.

That cannot be easy for her, especially when she is so close to her wedding day. It’s a source of stress and it’s an embarrassment.

Meghan’s mom arrived days ago, so at least there’s that.

On Saturday, May 19, Meghan and Harry will marry.

Hopefully, there won’t be too much drama before that day arrives.
