Casey Affleck Fails at Acceptance Speech with Glaring Omission

In his acceptance speech at the 2017 Academy Awards, Casey Affleck forgot to give a shout-out that he says he will never live down.

While accepting his Oscar for Best Actor, the 41-year-old actor forgot to thank his son and daughter – and he"s devastated by it now.

“My head was completely blank,” the Manchester By the Sea star admitted backstage at the show in the Oscar press room.

“The shock of winning the award and the terror of having a microphone in front of you and all of those faces staring at you.” 

“I didn’t thank my children, which is something I’ll probably never ever live down,” the star said, devastated at the oversight.

“About three seconds after I made it backstage, my phone rang and my son said, ‘You didn’t even mention us.’ And my heart just sank.”

“So, you know," Affleck added, "that probably would have been the most meaningful thing I could have said, and I failed.” 

Forgot about his kids? Must be still in character!

(Sorry, but if the opportunity to drop the ever-elusive Manchester By the Sea spoiler/joke presents itself, you gotta take it people).

We doubt it makes Casey feel any better, but Kenneth Lonergan, who won the Oscar for Original Screenplay, did mention his child.

She was not thrilled about it, so you can"t win.

“My daughter who is 15 was extremely irritated that I mentioned her at all. So you can’t really win,” the Manchester writer said.

Casey and his former wife Summer Phoenix, 38, share two children together: son Atticus, 9, and daughter Indiana, 12.

While not as bad as the Oscars Best Picture fail courtesy of Price Waterhouse Coopers, Affleck may have a hard time forgiving himself.

He did thank others close to him, however.

Affleck thanked his parents, brother Ben Affleck, 44, co-producer Matt Damon, 46, his friends and fellow nominee Denzel Washington.

As his younger brother spoke, Ben got teary-eyed.

“I wasn’t sure if he was just … I saw [that] and thought maybe I’m just not making a good speech and he was really disappointed,” Casey said.

“But I think he was probably touched."

"I think that we are … I mean, not to brag or anything, but I think we’re the only two brothers to win Academy Awards, ever.”

Casey Affleck Oscars Nomination: SLAMMED by Constance Wu!

Casey Affleck was not among the surprising 2017 Oscar nominations.

The actor won Best Actor at the Golden Globe Awards this month and is the strong favorite to take home the same trophy at the Academy Awards for his role in Manchester by the Sea.

But Constance Wu doesn’t care about Affleck’s on-screen performance.

She only cares about his alleged off-screen behavior.

In 2010, Affleck was sued on two separate occasions by women who claimed that he made “uninvited and unwelcome sexual advances” while working on the film I’m Still Here.

One alleged victim was a producer on the documentary, while the other was a cinematographer, who wrote in her lawsuit that Affleck climbed into her bed and groped her as she slept.

Affleck has maintained his innocence and settled both lawsuits out of court the same year they were filed.

But the past incidents have been making new headlines ever since Affleck started receiving awards buzz for his career-defining portrayal in the aforementioned movie.

And Wu – best known for her role on ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat – doesn’t understand why Affleck is receiving critical recognition instead of personal derision.

The actress wrote in a series of angry Tweets this afternoon.

“Men who sexually harass women 4 OSCAR! Bc good acting performance matters more than humanity, human integrity! Bc poor kid rly needs the help!”

She added:

“Boys! BUY ur way out of trouble by settling out of court!Just do a good acting job,thats all that matters!bc Art isn’t about humanity,right.”

Wu also believes that Affleck’s nomination (and likely victory) can be compared to the Presidential election just won by Donald Trump.

On Twitter, she shared “a thing I wrote during an convo w/ @PeterShinkoda about how Casey Affleck’s win will be a nod to Trump’s.”

Wu has played the role of Jessica Huang on Fresh Off the Boat since 2015.

It marks her first series regular role, following appearances in such shows as Torchwood and Covert Affairs.

Her career is only just taking off, yet she clearly thinks this topic is too important to ignore.

“I’ve been counseled not to talk about this for career’s sake,” she wrote online today. “F my career then, I’m a woman & human first. That’s what my craft is built on.”

No matter what you think of her stance here, you have to admire anyone who puts her career on the line for her personal beliefs, don’t you?

Aware that her viewpoint was not going to be popular, and aware that she would receive some negative feedback, Wu took a break from Tweeting for a few hours.

And then she posted the following:

Again, regardless of whether or not you agree with her Casey Affleck stance, you must agree with what Wu is saying here.

Casey Affleck vs. Sylvester Stallone: What Happened at the Golden Globes?!?

Sunday night should have marked an important occasion for both Casey Affleck and Sylvester Stallone.

The former was nominated for (and later won) Best Actor in a Motion Picture at the Golden Globe Awards for his role in Manchester by the Sea.

The latter, meanwhile, had the honor of his daughters all walking the stage as Miss Golden Globe 2017.

And yet… Stallone was nowhere to be seen during the show.

Is Miss Golden Globe 2017 a totally random and weird and sexist distinction to still be around at this point in time?

Absolutely.

But that’s not why sources say the camera never cut away to Stallone. It wasn’t due to a lack of pride.

It was due to Stallone and his wife, Jennifer Flavin, walking up to their assigned table just before the ceremony got underway.

According to People Magazine and other insiders, an awkward situation ensued when there was only one open seat available.

Moreover, these same insiders say that others seated around the table – Affleck, Matt Damon and Manchester by the Sea writer-director Kenneth Lonergan to name a few – didn’t do anything to accommodate the Stallones.

The couple grew irate and left for the green room, where they remained for the duration of the event.

A source cites “confusion” over the seating arrangement, but emphasizes that no one meant any ill will toward Stallone and his wife.

“There weren’t enough seats and so there was confusion, but it wasn’t personal against him,” says the source, adding that an additional chair was brought to the table and seats facing the stage were eventually freed up. 

By this time, however, Stallone had no interest in returning to the table.

Later in the night, Affleck crossed paths with Stallone.

This was after he had taken home one of the most coveted trophies of the evening.

He tried to apologize for the seating snafu, but Stallone was not receptive. He barely gave Casey the time of day.

A rep for Stallone refutes this entire report, however.

“The story you refer to is an interesting rumor – but a rumor nonetheless,” this rep says in a statement adding:

“Sylvester Stallone had a wonderful evening attending and presenting at the Golden Globes and celebrating with his family and friends.”

But did he enjoy Sofia Vergara making anal sex jokes about his daughters?

Really! That’s sort of what happened!

Casey Anthony Bodyguard: She Killed Caylee and Everyone Knows It!

Casey Anthony did indeed murder her little daughter Caylee, according to a new audio recording from a man once paid to protect her life.

Casey’s life, not Caylee’s.

The bombshell claim of her former bodyguard is making the rounds after he discussed the high profile murder case on a podcast this week.

Rob Dick was Casey’s bodyguard when she was first released from jail in 2008; Anthony was found not guilty of murder in July 2011.

Looking back on those events, the bodyguard called Anthony’s situation “completely insane,” which may be the understatement of all time.

Speaking this week on the podcast Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss, he said, “I still question the world’s fascination with it.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever been involved in something so crazy.”

“There are lots of women out there that killed their kid,” he told Weiss and Von, adding matter-of-factly, “and I do say killed their kid.”

Recalling the mass hysteria outside the Anthony’s home in Florida, he described the crowds just waiting for a glimpse of Casey’s family.

Dick describes the bedlam that ensued:

“At one point I’m standing in the front yard trying to keep 100-200 people from lynching her while Nancy Grace is [live] across the street.”

“It didn’t seem real. Just craziness.”

Weiss and Von asked for clarification as to why he said “killed her child,” and Dick claimed, again, that he thinks Anthony is guilty of murder.

“Without a doubt,” he responded.

“I think everybody knew she did it.”

Dick described his “disbelief” that the jury found her not guilty in the murder of the little girl, despite the evidence and Casey’s lies.

In the early stages of the police investigation, Caylee had been missing for 30 days when her mother was sent to jail for 30 days.

Dick recalled the “first night getting her out,” noting that at that point Caylee had been missing for 60 days at the time Casey was released.

“When she gets out, I’m driving her, [lead attorney Jose] Baez, Leonard [Padilla], going back to the family to [her parents] Cindy and George.”

“We get in there. It’s just a surreal thing,” he says. “You know what should happen. Here’s a mom in jail for the last 30 days.”

“Supposedly not knowing where her child is for 60 days now. First question … what do you think it would be? Have you heard anything?”

But that’s not what she said. At all.

According to her bodyguard, Casey didn’t ask a single question about her missing toddler, immediately acting like everything was normal.

“She was just completely happy, excited to see her parents. What’s for dinner? Jail food sucks,” he recalls of that eerie scene.

“There’s that moment right then that we’ve got a problem.”

“It’s not about getting out and finding your child.”

Dick asserted his believe that while Anthony is in all likelihood a child murderer, she is not a serial killer, nor will she ever take her own life.

“She loves herself too much,” he said.

Sick.

Casey Reinhardt: Infamous Laguna Beach Alum Gives Birth!

Casey Reinhardt, the peripheral character from Laguna Beach whose hair extensions were mocked by her cast mates, has given birth to a baby girl.

Reinhardt and her husband, Sean Brown welcomed Kensington Kelly Brown, with dad posting a sweet message to Instagram.

“Kensington Kelly Brown stole my heart on 8/16/16. I love you forever,” he wrote.

“Casey you have made my life immeasurably better in every possible way. Life is good!”

Reinhardt married Brown, nephew of the late Nicole Brown Simpson, in February at the luxurious Resort and Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, CA.

“Last night was the most magical, incredible, most emotional night of my life!!!” she wrote after the wedding.

“I became Mrs. Casey Beau Brown and I get to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing man who ever walked this earth.

“I’m so happy, so in love, and so overwhelmed with emotion just thinking about how beautiful the rest of our lives are going to be together.

The Casey’s Cupcakes owner and Brown announced that they were expecting in April.

The 30-year-old, who’s older brother Doug has dated Paris Hilton and Lauren Conrad, is most famous for spending about a minute on the second season of Laguna.  

Before being ostracized by the crew for spreading a gross rumor about Alex Murell’s personal hygiene DOWNTHERE, Reinhardt would often invite some of the cast to her mansion, where she’d instruct her maid to make them “un quesadilla por favor,” as well as plan sit-down lunches with sparkling juice and salads.

Reinhardt ultimately sealed her fate as the show’s most detested person when she arrived at a pre-prom party in the same yellow Roberto Cavalli cut-out gown Sheryl Crown wore to the Grammy Awards.

Reinhardt’s life turned out just fine, though.  She and her hair extensions seem very happy.

Casey Anthony: Did Lawyer Jose Baez Demand Sexual Favors?

She was acquitted of her daughter’s murder in 2011, but a new report is dragging Casey Anthony back into the spotlight.

Private investigator Dominic Casey filed an affidavit on December 15th, 2015 claiming that Anthony’s lawyer, Jose Baez told him in July 2008 that she had murdered her daughter, Caylee.

Anthony had “dumped the body somewhere and he needed all the help he could get to find the body before anyone else did,” Baez allegedly told Casey, according to reports from People Magazine and the Orlando Sentinel.

The story, most recently published on USA Today, states that Casey’s documents were filed on April 25th, 2016 with U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division.

Anthony filed for bankruptcy in 2013.

Casey also alleges that Anthony could not pay Baez, so instead she used her feminine wiles.

“You now owe me three blow jobs,” Casey remembered Baez once telling Anthony, adding that another time he walked in on lawyer and client having sex.

“That night, I told her that she cannot allow [Baez] to continue engaging in this behavior,” the investigator said.

Anthony told Casey that she had no choice, because she had no money to pay for legal aid.

“I reminded her that Baez had more than enough money from the network he sold the photographs to pay for her defense,” Casey stated.

Baez defended himself against the allegations to People.

“I unequivocally and categorically deny exchanging sex for legal services with Ms. Anthony,” he wrote.

“I further unequivocally and categorically deny having any sexual relationship with Ms. Anthony whatsoever.” 

Anthony was acquitted of murder charges on July 5th, 2011.  She was, however, convicted of lying to law enforcement officials, and was sentenced to four one-year sentences.  

She was credited for time served and good behavior, so was released after a short while.

Casey Allen Moss: Days of Our Lives Star Arrested for Assault

Actor Casey Allen Moss was arrested on Monday on assault charges.

According to multiple reports, the Days of Our Lives actor was taken into custody in Scottsdale, Arizona, after he was accused of attempting to punch a bartender.

Around 12:30 a.m., Arizona police were called to the W hotel in Scottsdale.  The 21-year-old daytime soap star allegedly started an argument with a bartender.

The disagreement initiated when a bartender cut him off for the night.  When police arrived, it was evident Moss was highly intoxicated.

According to local news station ABC, Moss was taken into custody and transported to a local jail. He is facing charges of assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

Fox reports that Moss was released from the Arizona jail on Tuesday.  He is scheduled to be in court for an arraignment on November 2.

This isn’t the first time a Days of Our Lives star has been accused of criminal behavior.  In May 2013, Dylan Patton was arrested for distributing cocaine.
