Audrey Kriss: Get to Know Mariah Brown"s Girlfriend

On a very recent episode of Sister Wives, the family met Mariah’s girlfriend. Meeting the family can be a big deal, but that’s even more the case when the family is comprised of polygamous reality stars.

Despite Mariah’s very complicated family, things actually went really well.

But the episode left viewers wanting to know more about Audrey Kriss.

As most viewers still remember, Mariah’s coming out wasn’t initially as well-received as one might hope.

Obviously, it went way better than it does for those LGBT kids who face violence or get disowned. But her mother, Meri, spent more time grieving her dreams of her daughter marrying a man and the son-in-law she always imagined she would gain than she did celebrating her daughter.

(Of course, not all straight daughters get married, so Meri had made a lot of assumptions)

But, as you know if you watch Sister Wives online, things are so much better now. And fans and viewers have now gotten to see Mariah introduce her girlfriend to her family.

And, though Mariah was clearly tense and ready for things to go horribly wrong at any moment, things went amazingly well.

Admittedly, Kody Brown did put his foot in his mouth — no real shocker there — by being dismissive of some of the women in his life going to a march.

Because he thinks that everyone’s focus should be on legalizing polygamy, since he seems to believe that the push for LGBT rights is over.

He seems to be forgetting, of course, that plenty of states still allow businesses to fire employees for being gay, not to mention the many restrictions faced by the transgender community. Plus the prejudice and violence that too many LGBT Americans face every single day.

However, he does have a point — many suggest the next political push in terms of marriage should be to legalize polyamory. Really, the only complicated part of that is taxes and inheritance.

But thankfully, the part of the episode where Audrey met Mariah’s family went off without much of a hitch.

And the episode came just in time for Mariah and Audrey’s one-year anniversary, which was Monday night.

Audrey celebrated with a sweet anniversary post to Instagram, writing:

“One year. What can I say that would do this past year justice? Who the heck knows but I’ll give it a try.”

A lot of people worry that they can’t adequately express their emotions through words. Fortunately, love has many languages.

“This year has been one of the single greatest years of my life. I’m the luckiest girl in the world to have you by my side.”

That is so heartwarming.

“You stick with me through thick and thin, even though I tickle you to the point you get mad at me.”

Believe it or not, some people like being tickled. Mariah is clearly not one of them.

“I love you more and more every single day. Cheers to this past year and many many more to come!”

For her part, Mariah wrote on Instagram:

“Thank you for being the love of my life, for going on adventures with me even when you are sleepy, & loving me even when I’m being a brat.”

That sounds so cute. A little self denigrating. But mostly just super cute.

“You make my life incredible.”

But that post came a little before their Februarty 19th anniversary date. Well, that’s the anniversary of when they went Facebook-official.

(As we said, Meri has really come around … even though she’s still not in a great place, marriage-wise)

Audrey Kriss is an artist, and of course a fellow Westminster College student. She’s from Littleton, Colorado, but she lives in Salt Lake City where she works as a golf instructor.

Both Mariah and Audrey are dedicated feminists, attending women’s marches (though Mariah couldn’t make it this year) and striving to make the world a better and more equal place.

We have to say that it’s a really good sign that their relationship is so secure that Audrey isn’t weirded out by Mariah’s family life. And to be clear, we don’t mean the polygamy aspect so much as the reality star thing.

In fact, Audrey’s publicly listed interests include Taylor Swift, Harry Potter, Apples to Apples, and Sister Wives.

That’s one supportive girlfriend.

Sister Wives Lesbian Bombshell: Mariah Brown Dating Audrey Kriss!

Mariah Brown came out as a lesbian on an emotional January Sister Wives episode, and now she’s going public with Audrey Kriss!

Her relationship is Instagram official. She writes:

“When your girlfriend is an artist, so you pretend to art for a day just for her, alongside a glowing photo of herself with a pretty brunette.”

Yup, girlfriend. It’s also Facebook official.

Both halves of the couple announced their relationship status on their respective profile pages, leaving no doubt that this is the real thing.

She even took to Twitter for the social media trifecta, identifying her by name: “Shoutout to Audrey Kriss for literally changing my life.”

Kriss, 21, a fellow student of the Sister Wives star at Utah’s Westminster College, showed Mariah “that who I am is perfectly okay.”

It’s great to see Mariah so happy now.

Mariah Brown coming out was just part of a tough year that also saw her family grapple with Meri Brown’s catfishing scandal and infidelity.

Meri, Mariah’s 46-year-old mom, fell in love with an online profile named Samuel Cooper who was really a woman named Jackie Overton.

The drama played out on TV, with Meri and husband Kody Brown struggling to repair the damage to their marriage and family since.

In early 2017, it was Mariah’s turn to deliver a shocker, coming out of the closet even as she admitted being gay was her biggest fear once.

The family had no clue it was coming.

“No one thought that Mariah coming out as gay was going to be the announcement,” a family source said of her now-famous sit-down.

“Especially considering Mariah was one of the children who said would practice polygamy when she married,” said the source at the time.

Mom Meri was floored by it.

“I didn’t see this coming, I thought I knew my daughter … I didn’t,” she said, while a show insider claims the cast and crew were in the dark:

“No one knew what Mariah coming out was going to be filmed. Robyn, Christine, Janelle, and Kody were all also genuinely blindsided.”

The family’s church, the Apostolic United Brethren, espouses that homosexuality is a sin, and Meri and Kody have struggled with this.

Just the same, Mariah’s family – her siblings, parents and “sister moms” – has been overwhelmingly supportive after the big news sank in.

“We’re just happy she’s figured out who she is,” Janelle said.

“It’s tremendous when you see a kid do that.”

Kody Brown, for his part, was candid about his thoughts on having a homosexual child, which he admits was difficult in a sense.

“You come from an Old Testament religion, you are not excited that your child comes out,” Kody explained after Mariah’s news.

However, the father of 18 said he decided a long time back that if this scenario ever occurred, he would not stand in the way:

“I thought about this years ago, and I made a decision.”

“My job as a dad is to love and respect, not to judge.”
