Lauryn Shannon and Joshua Efird: MARRIED!

Anyone familiar with the story of Cinderella is aware that the Fairy Godmother once turned a pumpkin into a carriage for the Royal Ball.

According to a new report, however, Joshua Efird has gone ahead and turned his Pumpkin into a beautiful wife!

Indeed, Lauryn Shannon exchanged vows on Monday night with the father of her child.

According to TMZ, the ceremony took place in Las Vegas and it was attended by Shannon’s famous relatives, sister Honey Boo Boo and mother June.

After the wedding was complete, the entire crew went to dinner on the Strip at the restaurant Buca di Beppo.

(And, yes, the evening and its events were filmed for the upcoming season of Mama June: From Not to Hot.)

Shannon and Efird actually got engaged years ago, after just nine months of dating, back in 2016 when Shannon was only 16 years old.

(Efrid was 19 at the time.)

About a year later, Lauryn confirmed that she was pregnant with her first child, announcing at the age of only 17:

“I’m really excited to be a new mom, but there is some challenges that I am gonna have to face.

“I’m [also] really nervous have having a baby because it does have to come out of my hoo-ha.”

This is a fact.

And the baby came out of that location in December.

Her name is Ella Grace and Lauryn has been posing alongside her adorable daughter often on Instagram.

“I honestly didn’t know that I could love a little person so much,” Shannon told Us Weekly in February, adding at the time:

“I want her to grow up and not listen to what others have to say, and if she wants to do something, go after it! … I’m not gonna say it’s easy being a young mother.

“It is a hard process, but I’ve grown into it.”

In this same interview, Shannon said a wedding was actually NOT in the works because she wanted to wait until Ella was a “decent age” to take part in it.

What changed? We don’t know.

But this is still exciting news!

“They say [babies] change things, but honestly I think a kid is maybe what we needed in our relationship,” Pumpkin also said this winter of she and Efird.

“We’ve become closer than any other time. We both help each other out. It’s like it’s a team thing now.”

But how does Mama June feel about all of this?

She hasn’t spoken out on the marriage, although she did speak harshly on Efird just a few months ago.

“Josh gets on my ever-loving last God damn nerve,” June says in the following clip from her reality show.

“I told him he needs to get a better job if he’s going to support my grandchild,” she continued.

“Every time he thinks that I let my guard down, I’ll be right behind him saying, ‘Boom motherf-cker."”

Yikes, huh? Good luck being an official part of this family, dude.

“If Josh thinks I’m always going to be him and Pumpkin’s safety net, they got another damn thing coming,” June adds in the above video.

Will she change her tune now that Josh is her official son-in-law?

Guess we’ll need to wait for Season 3 to find out.

Lauryn Shannon: I Already Regret Becoming a Mom

In December, Lauryn Shannon gave birth to her baby, becoming a mother at 17.

Now, a few months later, she’s 18, and opening up about her experience with new motherhood.

As it turns out, she really, really wishes that she’d waited before having a child.

It should comes as no surprise to fans of From Not to Hot or of Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon herself that members of this family can be outspoken … and sometimes blunt.

Well, speaking on Gonzo Podcasts (no relation to the muppet character or the porn style), Lauryn says that she wishes that she had waited before becoming a mother.

Speaking frankly, she reveals something that she would change about her life:

“I would probably change how young I was when I had kids.”

That … makes sense.

Lauryn continues, explaining that she had never intended to become a teenage mother.

“Because my original plan when I decided that I was gonna have kids, like, when I was younger.”

In her youth, the 18-year-old says, she already had an age in mind — an exact number.

“I was like, ‘Alright, I’m gonna wait until I’m 24.”

But she was just 17 when Ella Grace Efird was born. Lauryn now regrets that.

“And I wish maybe sometimes I wish I would’ve been able to do that.”

Alas, you can’t change history.

And, some would say, perhaps you shouldn’t admit that you wish that you could while speaking on a podcast when you’re famous and this can absolutely get back to your daughter when she is older.

Lauryn elaborates, speaking about the difficulties of being a parent.

“It has its struggles because Josh has a full-time job now, and with it just being me here and Alana some of the time and maybe my mom, it is super hard.”

At least she has family to help, but … that can only do so much.

She says that her baby-daddy, Josh, is able to shoulder some of the burden, even though June Shannon doesn’t hesitate to trash the father of her granddaughter.

“But when he gets home, it’s not as complicated because he helps out a lot.”

Ultimately, though, Lauryn doesn’t sound bitter about her current life.

“Honestly, I’m glad I get to grow with my child.”

Lauryn talks about other things on the podcast, too. She answers a question from a nervous fan who wants to know if she and her family still eat like they did on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

Obviously, Mama June has dramatically changed her diet as part of her famous makeover that gave her her current insane figure.

But Lauryn says that aside from buttered “sketti,” the over-boiled spaghetti noodles mixed with margarine and sometimes ketchup that the family would eat, their diets haven’t really remained the same.

So it doesn’t sound like Lauryn is going to be feeding her daughter any, um, roadkill or sugared cranberry sauce any time soon.

Honestly, most people had probably assumed as much. The reason for the bizarre foods eaten on Here Comes Honey Boo Boo wasn’t a personal preference, it was born of a desire to feed a family living in extreme poverty.

Some would slam Lauryn for speaking about this. What if Ella grows up and hears this one day?

Others would say that this is an important warning for Ella — as well as for other young women.

Having a child when you’re not even old enough to vote isn’t the same thing as holding a cute baby. There’s a lot more to motherhood than cute little photoshoots of a peacefully sleeping baby.

In a world where Kylie Jenner is showing off the sexy side of young motherhood, it’s important for people to get a dose of reality from their reality stars.

Lauryn Shannon Gives Birth! Meet Lil Pumpkin!

While June Shannon may have recently gone from Not to Hot, her daughter has accomplished an even more impressive feat:

Lauryn Shannon has now officially gone from not being a parent to being a parent!

She just gave birth to her first child!

Known as “Pumpkin” to anyone who watched her grow up on the former reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Lauryn is the sister of Honey Boo Boo herself.

She announced she was pregnant back in August, making the confirmation in a way that only a member of the Shannon family can do.

“I’m really excited to be a new mom, but there is some challenges that I am gonna have to face, ” the teenager said in a promo for Season 2 of Mama June: From Not to Hot.

She then added:

“I’m really nervous have having a baby because it does have to come out of my hoo-ha.”

Thankfully, however, Shannon overcame these nerves and welcomed a daughter into the world early Friday morning, even sharing a photo of the bundle of joy with Instagram followers almost immediately.

Check her out here!

“Today at 5:01am me and josh officially became parents to a precious 7lb 14oz baby girl,” Shannon wrote as a caption to this precious image.

As for her name?

“Everyone meet Ella Grace Efird.”

The father is Joshua Brandon Efird, who is pictured below with Lauryn and who has been dating the reality star for several months now.

Pumpkin revealed the gender of her baby in October.

Prior to this reveal, she admitted she was hoping for a daughter.

“I kind of want a girl because, of course, another me, duh!” she said in a WEtv clip.

Another Pumpkin, huh? Should make for some interesting storylines going forward.

In the latest promo for Mama June: From Not to Hot, it was made clear that Lauryn’s pregnancy and her journey to motherhood would be a major focus of the show.

Reads a network press release:

June’s daughter Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon’s unexpected pregnancy forces her and boyfriend Josh to grow up and take on adult responsibilities.

But that doesn’t stop June and Pumpkin from butting heads as less than mature Josh moves in.

Sounds intriguing!

Pumpkin Gender Reveal: Lauryn Shannon is Having a…

As previously reported, Lauryn Shannon is pregnant with her first child.

The former Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star and recurring family member on Mama June: From Not to Hot is only 17 years old and is expecting either a boy or a girl with rumored fiance Josh Efird.

Actually, we"re about to amend that sentence:

We now know what Shannon is having!

In a video meant to tease Mama June: From Not to Hot Season 2, which premieres in January, the young woman known as “Pumpkin” sits down to eat a cupcake.

Based on the color of the cream inside, she"ll find out whether she"s having a girl (pink) or a boy (blue).

“I kind of want a girl because, of course, another me, duh!” Shannon says in the footage below, prior to making her baby"s gender reveal.

Will she get her wish? Will she have a tiny version of herself in a few months?

YES!

“I think Alana’s going to flip her shit because, you know, she’s the baby girl of the family, and now she’s not going to be no more," Shannon says after reacting in excitement over the pink frosting discovery.

Pumpkin goes on to explain the one drawback to having a daughter, while laughing and telling viewers:

“I don’t think you guys are ready for another little me!”

That may very well be true.

But it looks like we"ll have no say in the matter.

Lauryn Shannon: Pregnant with First Child! At 17!

Mama June Shannon just found a unique way to announce her reality show is coming back for a second season:

By also announcing her 17-year old daughter is pregnant!

Earlier today, WE tv released a trailer for new episodes of Mama June: From Not to Hot, the program that previously documented the insane amount of weight that its namesake lost over the past several months.

Seriously, June Shannon lost A LOT of weight.

But it appears as if Season 2 will center a little bit less on June and a little bit more on Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, who is expecting her first child.

“I’m really excited to be a new mom, but there is some challenges that I am gonna have to face, ” the teenager says into the camera at one point in the promo, adding:

“I’m really nervous have having a baby because it does have to come out of my hoo-ha.”

We mean, it doesn’t have to.

There is a surgical procedure known as a Cesarean Section in which an incision can be made in one’s stomach and the child can be pulled into the world through this means.

But, yeah. Vaginal births are more common.

Shannon may be young, but she is at least engaged.

Pumpkin got engaged to boyfriend Josh Efird early last year, shortly after she turned 16. He’s three years her senior.

In this same reality show teaser, Lauryn says she doesn’t know the baby’s gender, but she does know she isn’t a huge fan of carrying a small human being inside her womb.

“I really wish I could have this child right now,” she says. “I hate being pregnant, but you know, you gotta do what you gotta do.”

The Shannons rose to semi-prominence on the program Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

They then went away for many years until June and her kids resurfaced on the first season of Mama June: From Not to Hot.

“If I had to bet, because of all the girls in our family, I’m probably having a girl,” Pumpkin says, adding in frightened wonder:

“Could you imagine another f-cking little me running around? You guys are gonna be f-cked!”

The all-new, 10-episode second season of this show is scheduled to premiere in early 2018 and will follow Mama June as she “tries to navigate life following a whirlwind year and losing hundreds of pounds,” according to the official press release.

How does Lauryn think June will be as a grandmother?

“I think mama will be an alright grandma,” the teenager with the weird nickname concludes.

“I mean, she can’t really see, but she’ll do good.”

Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon: Engaged at 16!

If you had hoped that 2016 would be the year that the world finally moves on from “Mama June” and the rest of the Shannon family, we’re sad to say you’re out of luck.

We’ve already seen June accuse Sugar Bear of cheating on her with men, and now it seems the Shannon train will keep right on rolling with a new generation. Let’s try for a bit less dysfunction this time, mmm-kay?

16-year-old Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon announced on her social media pages this week that she’s engaged to 19-year-old Joshua Efird.

Even though getting married (and shortly thereafter knocked up) while still in one’s teens is a tradition in the Shannon family, Lauryn had spoken in the past about her desire to leave her tiny hometown of McIntyre, Georgia and embark on a career.

Sadly, it seems being nicknamed after a spherical gourd doesn’t do much for a young woman’s self-esteem, and she opted instead to settle down with her first boyfriend.

The teens report that they’re saving themselves for marriage, so it seems no shotguns will be necessary at the ceremony.

Lauryn, of course, is not the first of her siblings to start a family.

Anna Shannon gave birth to daughter Kaitlyn Shannon during the first season of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and she’s since welcomed a second child.

Anna has also cut ties with Mama June, so maybe this family is headed in the right direction after all.
