Mama June Shannon just found a unique way to announce her reality show is coming back for a second season:
By also announcing her 17-year old daughter is pregnant!
Earlier today, WE tv released a trailer for new episodes of Mama June: From Not to Hot, the program that previously documented the insane amount of weight that its namesake lost over the past several months.
Seriously, June Shannon lost A LOT of weight.
But it appears as if Season 2 will center a little bit less on June and a little bit more on Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, who is expecting her first child.
“I’m really excited to be a new mom, but there is some challenges that I am gonna have to face, ” the teenager says into the camera at one point in the promo, adding:
“I’m really nervous have having a baby because it does have to come out of my hoo-ha.”
We mean, it doesn’t have to.
There is a surgical procedure known as a Cesarean Section in which an incision can be made in one’s stomach and the child can be pulled into the world through this means.
But, yeah. Vaginal births are more common.
Shannon may be young, but she is at least engaged.
Pumpkin got engaged to boyfriend Josh Efird early last year, shortly after she turned 16. He’s three years her senior.
In this same reality show teaser, Lauryn says she doesn’t know the baby’s gender, but she does know she isn’t a huge fan of carrying a small human being inside her womb.
“I really wish I could have this child right now,” she says. “I hate being pregnant, but you know, you gotta do what you gotta do.”
The Shannons rose to semi-prominence on the program Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
They then went away for many years until June and her kids resurfaced on the first season of Mama June: From Not to Hot.
“If I had to bet, because of all the girls in our family, I’m probably having a girl,” Pumpkin says, adding in frightened wonder:
“Could you imagine another f-cking little me running around? You guys are gonna be f-cked!”
The all-new, 10-episode second season of this show is scheduled to premiere in early 2018 and will follow Mama June as she “tries to navigate life following a whirlwind year and losing hundreds of pounds,” according to the official press release.
How does Lauryn think June will be as a grandmother?
“I think mama will be an alright grandma,” the teenager with the weird nickname concludes.
“I mean, she can’t really see, but she’ll do good.”
