Mark Burnett is a genius … not exactly news, but the timing of the announcement that Arnold Schwarzenegger will become the new host of ‘Celebrity Apprentice‘ couldn’t be better, because we’ve learned Arnold will be front and center at Wednesday’s Republican debate.

We’re told the former California governor was always planning to attend the 2nd debate at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, and the timing of the announcement is not accidental.

Our sources say there will be some contact between Donald and Arnold … likely a handshake and a short conversation that will not be picked up on mic.

Kristen Stewart Just Feels Sorry for Kim Davis

The topic of Kim Davis has invoked many strong feelings across both sides of the aisle.

The Kentucky clerk, who was jailed for refusing to grant gay couples a marriage license, has prompted some to passionately defend her religious freedom… and others to rail against her blatant law-breaking.

But Davis has not inspired anger or defiance from Kristen Stewart.

Instead, she has simply inspired pity.

“Did you see her come out of jail?” Stewart says in an interview with The Daily Beast, referring to the video (below) of Davis thanking God and holding the hand of Mike Huckabee after being released.

Added the actress:

“Honestly, it makes me so deeply uncomfortable. I feel really bad for her. Anyone who’s so closed off to things that are so apparent?

“Imagine what else she’s missing out on in life.”

Stewart plays a character named Nia in her latest film, which is titled Equals.

It’s an appropriate title, in Stewart’s opinion, when the topic of gay marriage is broached.

She doesn’t understand why anyone out there would be opposed to the concept of equality, especially when it comes to love and happiness.

“I feel bad for her,” Stewart says of Davis. “That fear of the unknown cripples people, breeds hate, and it’s just very sad.”

And where does Stewart stand on the topic of gay marriage? She has a simple take when the interviewer describes “denying anyone that basic human right” and how it “can drive people crazy.”

“Abso-fucking-lutely. It is crazy.”

Kim Richards -- Loses Battle for Easy Community Service

breaking news

0914-kim-richards-TMZ-01Kim Richards will NOT do jail time for her drunken antics at the Beverly Hills Hotel, but she didn’t get the community service she was after.

Her case was plea bargained and the judge just sentenced her to 30 days community labor. This is not office work. It involves real labor, like graffiti or garbage removal.

Kim tried to convince the judge she couldn’t do strenuous work because of a foot injury, but the judge wasn’t buying it.

The judge also placed Kim on 3 years probation. She’s been ordered to stay 100 yards away from the Bev Hills Hotel.

And there’s more. Kim must attend 52 AA classes … one a week for the next year.

0911-with-swipe-kim-richards-weed-shop-tmz-no-arrow-3Kim has major issues still … as we reported, last week she went to several smoke shops in the San Fernando Valley where we’re told she was looking for Xanax.

Cherish How This Weatherman Pays Homage to Madonna

Mike Thomas is at it again.

The Fox5 meteorologist in D.C. – who went viral a few months ago for quoting Taylor Swift in his forecast when that singer played a concert in town – went ahead with the same gimmick in honor of Madonna over the weekend.

"Now some boys try and some boys lie but I don’t let them play. I’m gonna nail this forecast today,” he says at the outset of this report. “Don’t just stand there, let’s get to it. Strike a pose there’s nothing to it."

Thomas went on to Vogue a bit (seriously!), while using as many Madonna song titles and lyrics in the course of a few minutes as he could muster. To wit:

“Some parts of the region will be touched for the very first time by rain this month on Saturday, so grab, grab that umbrella as you head down to the concert."

It"s all pretty amazing. Sit back and cherish this forecast now.
