Lamar Odom Seeking Kidney Transplant, Sources Say

Earlier today, we reported that Lamar Odom has been transported to a hospital in Los Angeles where he will continue to the recovery process after nearly dying from an overdose last week. 

Reports on the 35-year-old’s condition have been mostly positive over the past week, with several sources claiming that Odom has begun physical therapy and is able to walk and engage in simple conversations. 

Unfortunately, Odom still has a long way to go.

Hospital insiders say that while the damage to his brain is not as severe as expected, he still runs the risk of multiple organ failure.

Odom is currently undergoing dialysis, but TMZ is now reporting that he may require a life-saving kidney transplant in the very near future.

Odom is currently undergoing six hours of dialysis a day, and will likely never be able to leave the hospital without the donation of a healthy kidney.

To make matters worse, doctors are still uncertain about the extent of Odom’s brain damage, as they feel that he’s in too fragile of a state to undergo the necessary tests.

Needless to say, Odom’s road to recovery will be a long and difficult one. We’ll keep you updated on his condition as more information becomes available.

Kendall Jenner Throws It Back, Flashes Thong

We’re so very glad Lamar Odom is on a path to recovery, mostly because he seems like a very good guy who can hopefully find a way to now overcome his many personal demons.

But also because the Kardashian-Jenner app boycott is over and we can return to making fun of these useless reality stars!

And, right on cue, Kendall Jenner has given us an easy opening with which to do so.

The model shared a new/old picture on Instagram today, throwing it back to an old photo shoot and writing as a caption that she’s just “practicing a little twerk” in this image.

This may be accurate.

But come on, Kendall. You’re just practicing a little thong flash in order boost your Instagram numbers, let’s be honest.

This is still a sensitive time for the family, we know. Odom is not out of the woods just yet, not by a long shot.

Among the many well wishes and prayers send his way during this difficult time, Kendall sent her ex-brother-in-law a very simple, very heartfelt, very heartbreaking message last week.

It read “Please don’t go.”

Thankfully for all involved, it appears as if Odom listened to her.

Rob Kardashian: Out and About in LA!

For all of the tragic consequences of Lamar Odom’s near-fatal overdose last week, it looks there may actually be some silver linings to the the dark cloud still hanging over his inner circle.

First, we learned that Scott Disick checked into rehab, possibly as a result of Odom’s brush with death. Now, it seems Odom’s condition has motivated another member of the Kard clan to turn his life around…

Yes, according to Radar Online, Rob Kardashian has emerged from hiding and has been spotted chauffeuring his distraught sister Khloe Kardashian around town. 

Rob has been spotted in the public a few times in recent months, but only late at night, and usually while engaging in fast food runs or other not-so-encouraging activities.

Insiders say Rob has risen to the challenge of helping his sister through this difficult time, and we can expect to see him out and about (during daylight hours) much more in the coming weeks. 

Khloe has been Rob’s closest confidant for years. (He even lives at his big sister’s house.) Now that she’s Lamar’s number-one caretaker, Rob has volunteered to help her nurse Odom back to health.

“Lamar is getting stronger,” says one insider, “So Khloe has been talking to his doctors about what his medical needs are going to be going forward.”

Rob has posted about his love for Lamar on social media, and those closest to the 28-year-old recluse say the emergency situation has forced him to snap out of his deprsssion.

Paula Deen Whines Over Dancing with the Stars Elimination

As of Monday night, Paula Deen is no longer Dancing with the Stars.

The occasionally racist chef was voted out of the ABC competition, expressing a bit of relief at first by saying she can now go home and “see [her] grandbabies.”

But Deen then spoke to Us Weekly after her elimination and sounded a tad bitter over how it all went down.

“[The judges] have been hard on me since the very start,” Deen said.” I don’t know.”

Oh, but we know: the judges have been hard on you because you aren’t very good. That’s sort of their job. That’s how the whole thing works.

“I figured two weeks and I’ve been here six!” added Deen.

“So four weeks is a bonus, a pure gift. And I’ve made wonderful friends here that’ll last forever and that’s worth its weight in gold, right there.”

The celebrity chef was teamed with Mark Ballas this season, with the tandem executing a rather racy routine the week before getting voted out.

She concluded by praising Ballas as “so much fun” and then said she hopes she can serve as an inspiration to others.

“I hope everybody saw me over these six weeks and I hope it gives them hope and encouragement, Deen said.

“I hope all the women out there got the message that I was trying to send to them. Get up and do it!”
