Leah Messer: How is She Holding Up Amid Custody Loss?

Since losing custody of her five-year-old twins, Leah Messer has put on a brave face on social media … but how is she really holding up?

As we reported yesterday, Leah lost custody to Corey Simms last week, following months of back-and-forth between Messer and her ex.

Now, one close confidant is weighing in on her mental state.

“I know it’s gonna be devastating for Leah,” Dr. Drew, who moderates the Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 reunions, said Thursday.

“Leah loves her children. She is a dedicated mother.”

“People are wondering how she’s doing and if you saw the last Teen Mom 2 reunion show … I believed she was making some progress.”

If you watch Teen Mom 2 online, you saw Leah Messer and Miranda Patterson, Corey’s current wife, have it out on the MTV stage.

Rumors that Corey and Leah hooked up recently, on top of their very real custody drama, could not have helped the overall tension.

Messer says she felt hurt by Corey and Miranda tag-teaming her in that situation and felt victimized, but Dr. Drew sees reason for hope:

“One of the signs i noticed that the people around her – like her ex-husband and his new wife – are starting to really come down on her.”

“When that starts to happen, that’s a sign to me that the identified patient is getting better. That’s a sign that things are getting better.”

“Because when somebody’s aware enough, that people who have been worried and frustrated, [the person] can actually hear them?”

“That’s when they come down on them. So I told Leah that’s a a good sign and that she should just learn to tolerate it … but to focus.”

“Focus her treatment which she was willing to do.”

“She had lots of good questions and I was expecting progress,” he said. “I don’t know if this is going to set her back but I wish her the best.”

Leah, he says, “is working very hard and this has been a terribly stressful and painful time for her, so let’s all wish her the best.”

Let’s do that … but let’s not expect this situation to be resolved without more bumps in the road, because it all sounds very contentious.

Grey"s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 5 Recap: Be My Guest?

Meredith threw a dinner party on Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 5 that was very hard for her to stomach.

That’s what happens when your good friend’s new girlfriend is the doctor whose poor decision cost your husband his life.

Indeed, we opened this hour with Meredith shocked beyond belief that Penny is actually in her home.

Alex could see that his pal was smiling as if she were in a “hostage video or something,” but Arizona could not read Penny’s mood nearly as well. She responded to her girlfriend’s anxiety by introducing her to a buzzed Arizona.

Maggie, meanwhile, arrived late to the party due to some naked time with Andrew. She hadn’t had time to cook… and then she didn’t have time to start cooking because she had to run back to the hospital to get tests for a “raging UTI.”

OUCH!

Enter April as chef, in order to avoid Jackson. Meanwhile, Stephanie refused to make nice with Jo, while Callie was called back to work, yet insisted Penny stay and have “fun” with Meredith.

Penny failed to successfully make small talk with Meredith, but then everyone sat down to eat… Bailey realized that Penny was Grey Sloan’s newest resident transfer… and Meredith could no longer keep it in.

“Perfect Penny killed my husband,” she announced to the table.

That’s sure to ruin almost any party.

After Amelia confronted Meredith for not revealing Penny’s identity to her earlier and these two had a fight, Amelia and Owen bonded while Stephanie finally accepted Jo’s apology (only to later take it back).

Finally, Callie told Jackson that she didn’t know how to turn off her feelings for Penny, to which Jackson said he’s not sure if one can turn off feelings. Hey, good news for April!

From there, after accidentally bumping into Meredith on her way out, Penny said he was going to “file a request to be rematched with another program, and you will never have to see me again.”

However, she added: “I didn’t forget about [Derek]. I never will.”

In response, Mer said, “I’ll see you Monday. Don’t be late.”

And that’s where we’ll pick up on November 5 on Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 5. Here’s a look ahead:

Lamar Odom Undergoes Multiple Medical Procedures

Lamar Odom may have been transferred from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, and he may be communicating with those around him, but the star is not out of the woods just yet.

Sadly, in fact, he just underwent a pair of medical procedures.

According to TMZ sources, both operations involved issues related to Odom’s chest, while an insider tells the site that Lamar is in a “fragile mental state.”

Doctors have banned Odom from seeing any visitors, except for Khloe Kardashian, who has remained legally married to Odom and who has even agreed to call off her divorce from Lamar.

“I think it’s still really touch-and-go,” a source tells Us Weekly, adding:

“Khloe is not really responding to friends who’ve reached out; I think she’s just in a bubble with her family right now.”

It’s only been 10 days since Odom was found unconscious at a legal brother in Nevada.

Tests have confirmed that cocaine was in his system at the time he was hospitalized, with initial reports giving Odom no better than a 50% chance of survival.

So his condition has certainly improved, but it’s far too soon to know for certain how he will respond to this medical crisis.

In response to this incident, and in order to earn Khloe’s trust back, Odom has supposedly sworn off drugs forever.

“This is a huge wakeup call for Lamar, for his friends and family,” the Us Weekly source concludes. “Everyone is just really hoping for the best.”

The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 3 Recap: Three for the Road

Viewers were taken on a pair of trips on The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 3.

First, Damon and his two besties (Bonnie and Alaric) learned that Lily’s missing Heretic, Oscar, was in Myrtle Beach. They tracked him down with the goal of trading him for Elena’s body.

When they found Oscar, he was in a partying mood, telling the trio that he had been sent their on a mission, but decided to stick around, remain off the radar for a bit and just live life to its fullest.

Oh, and Oscar is also a siphon who was unable to rid Bonnie of her scary visions, although he did know right away that they were a result of The Phoenix Stone.

He urged the group to get rid of it.

After Bonnie yelled at Alaric for lying to her about destroying the Stone, she agreed to do whatever she could to help him try to get Jo back with it. Despite this clearly being a terrible (albeit romantic) idea.

Back to Oscar: Damon, Bonnie and Alaric eventually apprehended him, which led to Damon calling Lily and making the offer of trading him for Elena.

But we closed the episode with Valerie using a locator spell to find Oscar, discover that he was sent by Lily to find someone named Julien and then kill him because she cannot deal with every seeing Julien ever again.

And just who is Julien?

We spent a lot of time this week in 1863, going over the love story that featured Stefan and Valerie.

She had been sent by Lily to check on Stefan, to simply make sure he was doing okay, but then she fell in love with him. She was his first (his first you know what, that is!), but she got whisked away by Lily’s boyfriend soon after getting together with Stefan.

That boyfriend was Julien. He made Valerie leave with him for Europe and then he intercepted her when she made an attempt to return to Stefan.

She did so because she was pregnant with his child (unbeknownst to Stefan)… but that didn’t last long, tragically.

Julien beat Valerie within an inch of her life, killing the unborn baby in the process and then dragging Valerie away to Europe, where he told Lily that he found her on the street like that.

So it makes sense that Valerie does not want Julien back in the picture now, that’s for sure.

In the present day, Valerie killing Oscar will cause quite the problem for Damon and his plan to get Elena back; while Valerie also told this entire tale to Caroline, but Lily eventually let her go and Stefan made it clear that his past with Valerie is very much in the past.

But what about the future? No, not The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 4. We’ll get to that next Thursday.

The flash forward we saw, however, featured Stefan calling Tyler (yes, Tyler!) and telling him to warn Caroline because his scar had returned and Caroline was not returning his calls.

Tyler seemed to understand what this meant right away, not that the viewers really have much of a clue at the moment.
