Ian Somerhalder Reunites with Paul Wesley, Vampire Diaries Fans Lose Any and All $hit

They may no longer star as brothers on the small screen…

… but Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley proved over the weekend that they are brothers in life.

Very, very, very handsome brothers in real life, we must add.

On Saturday, Wesley uploaded a photograph with his former co-star on Instagram Story, giving followers a look at him and Somerhalder hanging out during The Vampire Diaries and The Originals Official Convention in Nashville.

As you can see above, the sultry snapshot was accompanied by a single word:

REUNION.

For eight seasons, Wesley portrayed Stefan Salvatore and Somerhalder portrayed Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries.

They were centuries-old blood suckers who loved the same women (Nina Dobrev’s Elena… and also Nina Dobrev’s Katherine) at various points in their long lives – but whose real love was for each other.

Indeed, the most interesting and sentimental relationship through the show’s impressive run on The CW took place between these siblings.

Away from the camera, Wesley, Somerhalder and their fellow cast members were known and respected for their enthusiastic fan interactions.

They were major attractions at Comic-Con every year the series attended that massive event in San Diego and they were both very engaging on social media.

Somerhalder, in particular, has never missed an opportunity to thank his supporters for sticking by him and the show, which came to an end in March of 2017.

For this reason, viewers went a bit overboard in their reactions to seeing Wesley and Somerhalder reunited in the photo above.

Case in point, from one Instagram users:

HOLY CRAP I CANT BREATHE!!! DAMON!!! STEFAN!!!!! IAN!!! PAUL!!!! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME!?!!? HELP IM DYING!!! MY POOR HEART ACHES!!!!

Elsewhere, here were a few sample reactions on Twitter:

paul and ian together

Since going their separate ways professionally, neither Wesley nor Somerhalder has starred in anything of note.

The former directed an episode of Shadowhunters last year, however, while the latter just finished filming a movie titled Time Framed.

Ian has also been quite busy in his personal life… considering he welcomed his first child into the world last July!!!!

How exciting, right?!?

Somerhalder and wife Nikki Reed are parents to a daughter named Bodhi.

We don’t know much else about her because her famous parents have chosen to keep the little one out of the spotlight, a decision we very much respect.

But if Ian is interested in making news in a different fashion any time soon, we have five words for him:

Paul. Wesley. Buddy. Cop. Movie.

Think about it, fellas.

Nina Dobrev: This is Why I Left The Vampire Diaries (Also: Impeach Donald Trump!)

Nina Dobrev touches on two very important topics in the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar:

1. Her departure from The Vampire Diaries.

2. The Presidency of Donald Trump.

Because you may be a little sick of the latter, we’ll start with the former.

Dobrev rose to significant fame and fortune by portraying Elena Gilbert on the aforementioned CW hit, a role and a series that provided the star with a high salary and a loyal fan base.

Which is why fans were taken aback when she announced she was leaving the drama after Season 6.

Did the exit have anything to do with how awkward it would have been to continue working alongside ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder?

Especially after he started dating (and eventually married) Nikki Reed?

God, no, Dobrev tells Harper’s Bazaar.

“That was the plan from the get-go,” Dobrev explains of saying goodbye after six seasons.

“If anything, the fact that [leaving] terrified me drove me even more.”

Many actors or actress would never take this sort of risk, of course.

They’d be too afraid of what might come next after such a successful run… or what might NOT come next, to be more accurate.

“I needed to feel that fear of ‘Oh, my God, what if I never get a job again?"” Dobrev says. “That just made me want to work five times as hard to make sure that didn’t happen.”

Dobrev hasn’t been prominently featured in any show or movie since leaving The Vampire Diaries, but says she’s simply been “picky” in deciding what jobs to take.

“The things I want to do aren’t necessarily the things that are expected of me,” she expounds, adding:

“I don’t want to play a teenager anymore. I want to play adult roles and be challenged and work with great filmmakers and tell incredible stories, and that has meant being really picky.”

Okay, now it’s time to talk about Trump. Are you ready?

The actress was born in Bulgaria and moved to Canada when she was two years old.

She tells the publication of Trump’s rhetoric and bans on immigration:

“I come from an immigrant family, and I think it’s unacceptable to treat anyone like that… Hopefully he’ll get impeached. Or indicted. Or both. He just doesn’t act like a president.

“He acts like a reality star on a terrible, horrible show that should never be aired.”

Dobrev has many opinions on the Commander-in-Chief, but she hasn’t posted anything political on social media since late July.

She’s trying to bite her tongue, but it isn’t easy.

“He’s responsible for incredibly important decisions for the country that I live in, so my opinion does matter whether or not I had a chance to vote,” she says, addressing anyone who thinks she ought to shut up on Twitter:

“Whenever I did one of those posts, I was inundated with negative comments, some of the most horrific things I’ve ever seen written.

“But I’m entitled to my opinion, and if you don’t want to see the things I’m saying, don’t follow me.”

It really is that simple.

The Vampire Diaries Finale: 11 Shockers!

Who lived? Who died? Who found peace?

And what does peace in The Vampire Diaries universe even mean?

Following an episode finale of this beloved CW drama, it"s time to take a look back at the most surprising, sentimental and downright stunning moments…

1. Goodbye to…

Goodbye to

… Stefan. He sacrified himself to save Damon, and all of Mystic Falls, really, holding Katherine at bay while Hell fire engulfed the past lovers in flames and destroyed both Katherine and Hell forever.

2. Hello to…

Hello to

… Elena! It wasn’t a surprise, considering Nina Dobrev made it known weeks ago, but Elena returned after Bonnie figured out how to break her spell. We saw her reunite with Damon and even find peace with her family (including Aunt Jenna and Uncle John!) in the show’s version of heaven to close out the finale.

3. And Also Hello to…

And also hello to

… a lot of people. But let’s start with Klaus, who penned a letter to Caroline that explained his donation to her and Alaric’s new school for gifted children that read “Dearest Caroline, I have often imagined the paths your life might take, but your chosen future is more noble than I ever fathomed. Please accept this contribution to your virtuous cause. I do look forward to thanking you in person someday… however long it takes. Yours, Klaus.”

4. Other Returns Included…

Other returns included

Lexi, who was waiting for Stefan in his version of heaven. We already mentioned Uncle John and Aunt Jenna, but Grams made an appearance to help Bonnie save the town and even Alaric’s, Jo, was seen smiling at her former husband… from the beyond. And let’s not forget about Sheriff Forbes!

5. So, Where are They Now?

So where are they now

The show jumped forward a bit at the end, giving us a glimpse at what various characters decided to do with their lives after helping to save the world and everything.

6. Matt is…

Matt is

… still a sheriff in Mystic Falls (with his own park bench!) and considering running for mayor.

The Vampire Diaries Series Finale Teaser: Elena Gilbert Returns

Elena Gilbert is really returning for the series finale of The Vampire Diaries.

It was already confirmed a few weeks back by Dobrev, but now we have our first glimpse at the return of the iconic character in a teaser for the series finale.

Dobrev departed The CW hit at the close of The Vampire Diaries Season 6 when her character was linked to Kat Graham"s Bonnie Bennett.

It meant that Elena would not be able to return to the land of the living until Bonnie was no longer living. It was a brutal twist, but there"s probably a way around that.

This show is known for its illogical magical loopholes, so you can expect Elena Gilbert and Bonnie Bennett to share some touching scenes as the series closes up shop.

in the official teaser for the final episode, Elena meets up with her former love, Stefan Salvatore.

The character knows this meeting could come due to her best friend being dead, but would Stefan really be smiling if that was the case?

Kai returned on the most recent episode of the series and made a run for it with Elena"s body, so that will likely be tied to her return.

Throughout The Vampire Diaries Season 8, the characters have been battling with Cade, who is the devil.

Have a look at the official teaser for the episode below…

Scarlett Byrne: Harry Potter, Vampire Diaries Star Poses Nude For Playboy

Back in 2015, the Playboy did away with nudity in a decision that stunned the publishing world about as much as if Sports Illustrated decided the Internet has football pretty well covered and that jai alai is the wave of the future.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, the iconic men’s mag reversed its decision this week, after exhaustive research indicated that people still like boobs.

Yes, Playboy is returning to nudity, and they’ve already chosen the set of headlights that will light their way back to the promised land.

That’s Scarlett Byrne, and she’ll be appearing naked in the new issue because apparently the folks in marketing didn’t learn anything from when Lindsay Lohan posed for Playboy and the issue didn’t exactly fly off the shelf.

You may not recognize Byrne’s name but she starred as Pansy Parkinson in the Harry potter films.

Not exactly an A-list Slytherin, but we think she dated Draco Malfoy or something.

The 26-year-old actress also starred in The Vampire Diaries in a role we’re sure the eight people who still watch that show remember fondly.

Byrne has had an okay career, but she still seemed like a random choice to mark the magazine’s return to the type  content that made it famous.

But then we saw this pic and realized that she’s dating Hugh Hefner’s son, Cooper, who’s apparently running the show these days.

Byrne isn’t just appearing nude in the new issue, she also penned an essay about how Playboy is totes woke now, or something:

“I’m very proud to be a part of the March/April issue of Playboy. I penned a short essay along with my pictorial titled, ‘The Feminist Mystique,” she wrote on Instagram.

“A big thank you to @Playboy, the creative team, and @cooperbhefner for such a unique opportunity. #NakedIsNormal”

Yes, the Playboy wants you to believe it’s returned to the days of glossy, airbrushed pubic hair, because of, like, women’s rights or something.

Sure, you can find just about every kind of nudity imaginable right now with a few keystrokes (tee-hee), but only in the pages of Playboy can you find socially conscious, faux-feminist flesh for the resistance!

Interestingly, it seems the magazine’s editorial team is trying to play both sides of the fence, as Cooper Hef’s commentary on the change of “reclaiming out identity,” a phrase that has the stench of the #MAGA crowd all over it.

Will the return to naked values be effective?

No, because it’s 2017, and print media is deader than Marilyn Monroe, who, coincidentally was the last centerfold anyone cared about.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 10 Recap: Nostalgia"s a Bitch

The Vampire Diaries really likes to celebrate the past.

On The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 10, we took a trip into Damon’s mind and there was no vampire in site. In fact, it was littered with past characters who really helped make the episode a poignant affair.

When the episode got underway, Bonnie showed up at the Salvatore mansion to find Damon in a catatonic state. Sybil then revealed she needed help finding the bell.

Caroline decided to help her if it meant saving Damon from his own mind. Bonnie and Caroline entered and noticed straight off the bat that Vicki Donovan was very much alive.

Bonnie thought she had been bitten by Damon, but it turned out Vicki was just a normal teenager who had no idea what vampires were.

Caroline, however, found out the hard way that her mother was not a fan of vampires.

Caroline tried to join forces with her mother to locate Damon because of the animal attacks, but her mother kidnapped her because she knew she was a vampire.

Back in Mystic Falls, Stefan met up with Seline who told Stefan that if he rings the bell twelve times it would bring hell because it would destroy everything for miles, giving Stefan a lot of souls for Cade.

It was great to finally learn what the damn bell did, but it’s also a little farfetched how long it’s not been used for.

Where was this when the heretics had taken over the town?

Stefan compelled Matt to ring the bell if he did not forgive Damon for murdering Vicki before the hour was up.

As you can probably expect, Matt started ringing the bell.

Back in Damon’s mind, Stefan showed up and Damon had a war of words with him.

Damon blamed Stefan for turning him into a vampire and making him a murderer.

Damon then snapped out of his funk and killed Stefan. He then made his way to stop Matt from ringing the bell twelve times.

The pair actually bonded. Damon apologized for murdering Vicki and Matt understood that Damon saved the town.

He said that goes a long way for him and Matt made off for the police station.

He decided he wanted to become Sheriff again, while Damon revealed that he’s always had a good relationship with sheriffs in town.

Will these two seriously become friends?!

Finally, Sybil and Seline met up and called a truce. They were tired of fighting each other, so decided to move on with their lives.

However, Cade showed up and revealed that the ladies were finished helping him because they were so unreliable.

The pair combusted into flames and Cade said that he was going to take matters into his own hands in order to get the results he wants.

What a riveting episode, you guys! Hopefully the rest of the season manages to match this episode’s quality.

With Nina Dobrev on her way back as Elena, it sure seems like the show is surprisingly going out on a high.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Look Who"s Coming Back!

Nina Dobrev has made it official:

The actress will, indeed, reprise her beloved role of Elena Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries Season 8 finale on March 10.

This episode will also mark the series finale of the long-running CW smash hit drama.

Dobrev left the series following Season 6, with her character being killed off at the hands of evil witch Kai.

Kind of. Sort of.

In the reality of the show, Elena was actually placed under a very serious sleeping spell and is unable to wake up until best friend Bonnie passes away.

Despite the absence of Dobrev for over a season now, however, the presence of Elena remains an ongoing series storyline.

She has often been referenced, most notably in relation to Ian Somerhalder’s Damon and whether he deserves to spend all of eternity with the love of his life.

Once she awakens and everything.

But it has long been rumored and/or assumed that Dobrev would come back for the show’s concluding episode, seeing as she departed on very good terms.

And the beautiful star has gone ahead and confirmed this assumption by sharing a photo of the series finale script.

“I know it’s Thursday, but this is not a TBT,” she wrote, adding the hashtags, “#BackOnSet #TVDForever.”

HOORAY, right?!?

It’s also worth noting the title of The Vampire Diaries series-ender will be “I Was Feeling Epic;” that Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson co-wrote it together; and that Plec is set to direct.

Lest you think Dobrev somehow broke protocol by releasing this piece of information, Plec released a statement soon after the above image went viral that reads:

“I’m thrilled to bring this show to an end the way we always intended – with Nina back to help us say goodbye.”

Added Williamson: “I’m so excited to have Nina back to ensure our farewell episode is truly epic!”

Dobrev actually appeared on the Season 7 finale as well this past May… in a manner of speaking.

Her voice was featured inside of Damon’s head and sources have confirmed that Dobrev recorded that narration for writers and producers.

As previously mentioned, Dobrev left the drama under very good circumstances, despite rumors at the time that claimed she couldn’t handle working with Somerhalder any longer.

The two dated for many years before breaking up and before Somerhalder moved on to marry Nikki Reed.

“I always knew I wanted Elena’s story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime. I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger,” Dobrev wrote in a moving tribute upon announcing her farewell in 2015.

“I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and there’s still so much more to come before the season finale in May.

“Elena fell in love not once, but twice, with two epic soulmates, and I myself made some of the best friends I’ll ever know and built an extended family I will love forever.”

Since exiting this show, Dobrev has starred in films such as xXx: Return of Xander Cage and the upcoming Flatliners remake.

And now it’s time to speculate:

Just how will Elena be brought back into the fold? Does this news mean that Bonnie will be killed off?

Or might we end on some kind of flash forward, with the series jumping ahead many decades and wrapping up with Elena returning to Damon’s arms?

Sound off below with your thoughts and hopes!

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 9 Recap: Miss Mystic Falls 2.0

Anyone for some Miss Mystic Falls?

On The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 9, the CW hit begun to embrace the end and threw back to one of the most iconic moments of the entire series.

However, this iteration of one of the town’s best events was more deadlier than before. That’s sort of what happens when you have both the Ripper and the Siren in attendance.

As the episode got underway, Damon and Stefan bonded over killing some dude in a bar, but Sybil just had to call Damon to ruin the fun. She wanted the brothers to make their back to Mystic Falls in order help her find the artifact.

Stefan was against returning, but Damon agreed without really thinking it through. This continued to prove to Stefan that there was something iffy about Damon’s humanity.

Meanwhile, Bonnie returned from her trip to Paris with Enzo and wasted no time in meeting up with Caroline. Caroline was floored by a mysterious vial around Bonnie’s neck.

That vial was filled with Enzo’s blood and it made Caroline question whether Bonnie wanted to become a vampire in order to spend an eternity with Enzo.

Their conversation was interrupted by a phone call from Seline, who wanted them to meet her to hear her out.

At the meeting, Seline claimed that it was imperative that they did not allow Sybil to get all of the pieces of the artifact, or there would be trouble in store.

Seline made it clear that her intention was to kill Sybil in order to try and do something good in her life, but Caroline struggled to believe her because of the way she acted when she was giving off serious Nanny Carrie vibes.

Caroline got on the phone to Matt to let him know about Seline, so he and Dorian continued to work together to locate where the other pieces of the artifact could be.

At the Miss Mystic Falls pageant, Caroline was shocked by the arrival of Stefan, Damon and Sybil and made it clear that she would not let them ruin the day.

Caroline noticed that Damon was still fighting Sybil off from his subconscious and used it to her advantage.

She told him to keep her out of his mind, but Sybil appeared to continue her reign of terror to get him on her side.

Stefan flipped and stabbed Damon and left him lying next to Sybil, who Damon had knocked out just before.

Caroline was chatting to the girls, but Stefan appeared and murdered one of them. He then told Caroline that he fed all of them his blood, so they would start the transition.

Caroline “murdered” Stefan, but he came back to life because of his deal with Cade and the pair bickered about how long Stefan would be the Ripper. Caroline was shocked to learn that he actually enjoyed it.

Stefan left, leaving Caroline to school the transitioning girl on what would become of her.

The girl wanted to die, but Caroline spoke about everything she had accomplished since becoming a vampire and it helped the girl change her stance on all of it.

Enzo and Bonnie argued about Bonnie not becoming a vampire because of everything she witnessed her friends go through, but she said that Enzo could be cured and it was clear he was thinking it through.

We ended the episode with Sybil attacking Damon, seemingly turning his humanity back on.

Things are definitely getting deadlier in Mystic Falls but is there any way either of the Salvatores can be redeemed at this stage?

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 8 Recap: We Have History Together

Did Stefan and Damon succeed in their quest to find some of the worst people on the planet for Cade?

That was their plan on The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 8, but they quickly realized they were in for a tough time of it on the road.

Finding the worst people was becoming a bit of a drag for Damon, but Stefan just seemed to rise to the occasion at every opportunity.

They came across a doctor named Tara, who had a seemingly perfect past. She also had a striking resemblance to Elena, but we’ll not even go there. This show needs to shut up about Elena Gilbert until she actually returns.

Tara’s parents had been killed by a drunk driver and it seemed like she was investing all of her time into work and charities. That’s what drew the brothers to her.

They seemed to think that she was hiding something dark and if they exposed it, she would be a solid candidate for Cade. As always, Stefan seemed to think it was a good idea to knock Damon out and ask for her help.

At the hospital, Stefan was quick to lie that Damon murdered her parents after some failed attempts at using his looks to get her to do what he wanted.

Damon lay on the bed and played the role of a defenseless person, apologizing for the crime he did not commit. Eventually, Tara decided that murder was on the cards, but she decided against it at the last second and told Stefan to leave.

In fact, she only told him to leave so she could murder Damon with Stefan knowing. It was a solid move and she thought she murdered Damon.

While Tara was doing some faux murdering, Stefan noticed there was something odd about Damon’s behavior and found Elena’s necklace with his belongings.

When Damon and Stefan confronted Tara, Stefan turned the tables on Damon and said he knew he only picked Tara because her resemblance to Elena.

Damon denied it and had to throw the necklace out of the car at high speed to let Stefan think that things were all okay. The brothers then killed Tara and delivered her to Cade.

The next morning, Damon went back to the spot where he threw the necklace and asked a community service worker if he knew where it was.

Damon found it and clocked eyes on a group of inmates doing community service, so he returned to Stefan to tell him, but Stefan had already murderd half of the hospital.

Somehow, Stefan is not redeemable anymore and it’s time for him to die. This is just getting out of hand now.

Elsewhere, Caroline was sent to the school to do a report, but it turned out that Sybil was the new history teacher and had all of the class under her spell.

She wanted Caroline to find a mysterious artifact for her. She had all of the school kids under strict orders to kill one another if Caroline failed.

The plan lead them to Caroline’s basement because it turned out that the object was in Elena’s parents’ car the night they died.

Seline left a note in the basement, saying that she already had the onject. Sybil then proved she was the worst villain ever and told the school kids to kill one another.

Matt and his deadbeat dad saved them, but it seemed a little too easy. Now, we need to contemplate why the Gilberts had the object that night.

Also, why the heck did Caroline forget about the crash on Wickery Bridge? That’s a bad friend right there.

What did you think of the developments?

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 6 Recap: Another One Bites The Dust

Wow, you guys. Is it safe to assume that absolutely no one is safe on this show?

On The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 6, the race was on to save Josie and Lizze from Seline, but just how far were Caroline and Alaric willing to go in order to save their kids?

Well, Caroline called off her engagement and told Stefan she did not want him anywhere near the mission.

The reason?

She didn’t want him there because he could prove to be a liability if it came to killing Damon, and Caroline made it crystal clear she was killing Damon if the opportunity popped up.

Then there was Alaric, who was a little too hard on Stefan because of what his brother done. I mean, I get they were both pissed with Damon, but he and Stefan are the polar opposite.

They may be brothers, but they could not be more different from each other.

As the police continued their investigation into what happened to the twins, Seline met up with Sybil and Damon. Seline revealed her master plan and the news that she was going to atone for what she did to Sybil on the island.

Sybil could not help but think Sybil was only saying it to get away from her because of the 100 years of misery she went through.

Seline tried to offer the twins to Cade in return for her and Sybil being free. However, Sybil had another plan up her sleeve and it involved Stefan.

Somehow, one or both of the Salvatore brothers are always on tap to hang around with the latest evils in town. When Stefan showed up to save the day, he managed to save the kids and return them to their parents.

It’s good when things end on a happy note. Right?

Well, things are NEVER happy on this show. Just as Caroline was calling the engagement back on and apologizing, Stefan dropped the bomb that he had signed up for an eternity of misery with Cade to save the twins.

This meant he would be leaving after 24 hours of freedom. Caroline was super pissed because she had just sent the twins away with Alaric because they had to be safe.

Alaric and Matt joined forces to rid Mystic Falls of Damon Salvatore, so they murdered him. Yes, you guys, Damon Salvatore is DEAD

Well, for now, at least. The CW’s promo that aired right after the big death confirmed he was very much alive, so it ruined whatever suspense the show still had.

The episode definitely succeeded in upping the action, but the characters are getting a little too annoying for my liking. Take Enzo, for example. He seemed out of the woods and now he’s in deeper than ever before with Sybil.

It’s time for Bonnie to get her magic back and find a loop hole to save this mess before it ends with a terrible finale. This show has been on the air for 8 years.

The fans deserve an ending that celebrates the previous seasons. Thus far, it’s been full of back and forth with the new villains and it’s tiring.

If you watch The Vampire Diaries online, you’ll know the show was one of the best shows on TV at one point, so it sucks to see it go out this way.

What did you think of the episode?

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 5 Recap: The Funeral

Losing someone close to you is never easy.

The death of Tyler Lockwood was definitely the focal point of The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 5 and it was heartbreaking.

We kicked things off with Matt calling all of his nearest and dearest to let them know their beloved friend had been murdered by Damon and that he was on his way home to lay him to rest.

Understandably, there was a flurry of emotions. Stefan struggled to find a medium between grieving for Tyler and being pissed off with his brother for causing this mess.

He understood that Sybil was causing the drama, but he still wanted to take his brother of the equation after seeing the effect the death of Tyler had on everyone.

There was something very off about the way Candice King was acting in this installment. Caroline never really grieved Tyler’s passing. Maybe the actress was not impressed that she wasn’t getting a scene to show just how much her former love meant to her at one point in her life.

Instead, all she could muster was that she couldn’t remember the last time she spoke to him. This shows how irrelevant he became to her, but I’m totally not buying it.

Things got worse as the gang tried to lay Tyler to rest when Damon showed up at the cemetery and showed them all four graves. He had dug up one for each of them, before threatening to murder Matt.

As you probably know if you watch The Vampire Diaries online, Matt is the only human in all of this, so Damon probably wanted to bring him in line with his peers.

This side of Damon has been done to death on this show and it’s only getting tiring. Stefan and Caroline put a lot of work in to capture Damon, so it was garbage to see Sybil release him from his doom.

Yes, you guys, Sybil made her getaway from the armory and she has the mysterious artifact that gives her migraines. You can thank Alaric for giving the artifact to his intern. Geez, didn’t he understand that it was the only way to save everyone from her?

Sybil made it clear to Damon that they have a whole lot of work to do, so we’ll no doubt see the pair go back to being annoying soon enough.

Seline continued to manipulate the kids to use their magic. This week, it involved them doing some sort of ritual on Georgie’s remains to basically bring the devil to Mystic Falls.

The only reason Caroline and Alaric figured out something was wrong was because Tyler had left Matt pictures of Seline because he was doing some research into her.

When Caroline and Alaric got home after a party honoring Elena and Tyler, their girls were long gone and just a drawing of the two girls playing happy families with Cade and Seline remained.

Interesting, but haven’t we already had the whole Gemini Coven storyline before with the twins being used for power? Talk about recycling plots.

Elsewhere, Bonnie finally managed to find a way to save Enzo from himself. After a pep talk from Caroline, she set the house on fire and his humanity returned.

That was easy.

What do you think of all the developments?

Nina Dobrev: Returning to The Vampire Diaries Season 8!?

It’s looking like Nina Dobrev will be back in Mystic Falls for The Vampire Diaries’ upcoming eighth (and final) season on the CW.

Dobrev rose to stardom thanks to her turn alongside Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley as part of a teenybopper love triangle for the ages.

The lead actress, who left the hit show after six seasons when her contract expired, will likely be part of its much-anticipated conclusion.

“There are discussions going on with Nina,” CW president Mark Pedowitz said at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

“We’d love to have Nina back,” he added, echoing the sentiments of many who were sad to see her go. “She was great for The CW.”

“She was integral for The Vampire Diaries.”

It is not a done deal, however. Here’s why:

From a writing standpoint, of course, there are many ways in which it could happen; Nina has just not yet committed to a return appearance.

If you watch The Vampire Diaries online, you know Kai put a spell on her character, Elena, rendering her unconscious until Bonnie is dead.

So she’s currently just chilling in a tomb, basically.

Her possibly-not-so-final resting place is now under the watchful eye of Tyler … someplace unknown to her star-crossed lover Damon.

Easy enough to fix that, given the open-endedness of the spell and the fact that the fair Ms. Gilbert is only asleep indefinitely, not dead.

Easy to fix, schedules permitting, that is.

Should Dobrev’s return prove impossible, producers are working on an alternate end to the saga that will be equally, organically strong.

“Hopefully she’ll be back, but should it not work out, Julie [Plec] has a great series finale [that will satisfy the fans],” Pedowitz added.

How do you think they would end it with – or without – Elena?

Will both potential endings be mapped out, story boarded and ultimately filmed as part of a special collector’s edition TVD DVD set?

That would be pretty awesome actually … albeit unlikely if Nina’s contract talks break down and she never shows up for filming. Still!

As for The Vampire Diaries ending after Season 8, Pedowitz said he, Plec and Warner Brothers Television’s Peter Roth all agreed on it.

“We collectively came to the same place,” he told the media.

“Julie really got there before either Peter or I did, which was that this was the right time to end the series, to go out in the right way.”

Do you agree that the TVD brain trust made the right call?

Does that show have more left in the tank than just one more season, or on the flip side, should it have gone off the air when Nina did?

Most importantly … will viewers even be able to handle the rekindled hotness that is Dobrev if she graces the small screen once more?

Seriously, if you’ve seen Nina Dobrev in a bikini lately, you know what we’re talking about. That alone should drive huge ratings in May.

The Vampire Diaries to End After Season 8

Note to fans of The CW:

Be sure to savor every last bite of The Vampire Diaries this fall, winter and spring.

Because the beloved series is coming to an end.

Creator Julie Plec made this semi-surprising announcing to kick off the show’s panel discussion at Comic-Con in San Diego today, alerting fans in attendance that the popular show will wrap up after Season 8.

This really isn’t a shock to those that have been paying close attention, however.

First, Kat Graham confirmed several weeks ago that she would be departing the drama following Season 8.

Then, Ian Somerhalder said in April that the team behind the show had decided to produce “one last season.”

He later tried to walk these words back, but the proverbial writing has been on the wall for some time now.

Moreover, The CW moved The Vampire Diaries (once its highest-rated program) to the television graveyard of Friday nights after a handful disappointing Thursday night performances last year.

Simply put, ratings have been on an extreme downswing. There’s simply no story left to tell here.

Early on, The Vampire Diaries established itself as a legitimately interesting and suspenseful series.

This was not Twilight. Not by a long shot.

The first couple seasons managed to shock viewers with twists and turns on a nearly weekly basis, making major stars out of Somerhalder,  Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev.

But Dobrev left after Season 6 and viewership has been shrinking for years now.

Plec said at Comic-Con that producers wanted to make this announcement early on, giving them a chance to write out the ending they want to tell with plenty of notice.

How do you feel about The Vampire Diaries coming to an end?

It’s about time, isn’t it?

Will Dobrev return as Elena for the series finale? She has hinted in the past that she’d be open to this arrangement.

Holly Madison Dishes Even More Playboy Dirt In "The Vegas Diaries"

Hugh Hefner’s former #1 girlfriend had us all fooled.

Throughout the entire run of E!’s Girls Next Door, Holly Madison managed to convince viewers that she and Hef were the real deal, despite the age difference and the fact that there were at least two other girlfriends at all times.

Either Madison is the world’s greatest actress, or she’s bitter that things ended without an engagement ring/baby/cash prize, because Madison has penned yet another tell-all about her time at the Playboy Mansion.

The Vegas Diaries (HarperCollins, 2016) picks up where Down The Rabbit Hole left off, though the cover bills it instead as Madison’s “road to reinvention.”

Radar Online features excerpts from the book, which are just as scathing as Madison’s first tell-all.

In one chapter, Madison recalls breaking up with her boyfriend in 2009, the “controlling” hipster magician, Criss Angel.

Hef had invited Madison back to the Mansion in Los Angeles to film season six of The Girls Next Door.

“I was told it was what the network wanted. It was what the viewers wanted. It was what Hef wanted,” Madison wrote.

“But no one seemed to care that it wasn’t what I wanted,” adding that Hef was “not so subtly rooting for” his ex “to fail.”

Instead, Madison joined Dancing With The Stars and landed her own reality show, Holly’s World, which centered around her new life in Las Vegas.

Madison wrote that fans of The Girls Next Door “never saw any of the dark side: how we were treated, how we treated each other, or what people thought of us.”

Hef didn’t have a relationship with the females in his home beyond each one’s name, age, hometown “and how well she behaved and followed the rules.”

Hef exercised control and kept “everyone on their toes by playing favorites.

“How else could he stay in control of seven women?” she wrote.

“It prevented us from banding together and staging a coup. He needed to somehow maintain the upper hand.”

Madison saved room in the book to kick the crap out of her former roommate/arch nemesis, Kendra Wilkinson, who has defended Hefner against Madison’s claims.

Madison took Wilkinson to task for writing her own tell-all “the second” she left the mansion.

“In Kendra’s case, her tales were used to spawn countless tabloids bits to draw interested in her TV show, and the show in turn was used to push the book.”
