Orlando Shooter Ex-Wife: He Was Unstable, Used to Beat Me

Last night, Omar Mateen allegedly entered a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla. and opened fire, killing 50 people and injuring at least 53 more in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

Orlando police later shot the suspect. He was 29.

While police continue to investigate, Mateen’s ex-wife tells The Washington Post that he was unstable and violent.

“He was not a stable person,” said the ex-wife, who chose to remain anonymous out of safety concerns.

“He beat me. He would just come home and start beating me up because the laundry wasn’t finished or something like that.”

She revealed that they had met online and got married in 2009. They moved into a two-bedroom condo in Fort Pierce, Fla., owned by Mateen’s family.

“He seemed like a normal human being,” she said, noting that he was not religious at the time and she knew of no connection to radical Islam.

She confirmed that Mateen was born to Afghan parents but was born in New York.

The ex-wife said she finally escaped the marriage when her parents learned of Mateen’s assaults on her.

They flew to Fort Pierce and pulled her out of the home, leaving her belongings behind.

“They literally saved my life,” she said.

The ex-wife added she never spoke with Mateen after that. The two were officially divorced in 2011.

President Obama has referred to the tragedy as “an act of terror and an act of hate.”

Speaking to NBC News, Mateen’s father, Mir Seddique, said his son’s crime “has nothing to do with religion,” indicating that it was motivated by hate.

He explained that Mateen became enraged two months prior after seeing two men kissing in Miami and believes the incident may have prompted his heinous actions.

“We are saying we are apologizing for the whole incident,” Seddique said. “We weren’t aware of any action he is taking. We are in shock like the whole country.”

Kendall Jenner Chops Off Hair, Debuts New Look!

Big news in the hair world today, guys.

Kendall Jenner has cut it all off!!!

Okay, not all of it. But she did cut it.

On Friday, the model shared this pic of her newly sheared locks to Snapchat:

As you can see, she included the scream emoji due to the shocking nature of this new development.

Prior to this courageous move, Kendall had worn her hair at about mid-back level, as appears to be required of most supermodels.

But she’s now cut several inches and her tresses fall just past her shoulders, qualifying the new ‘do as “lob” (as in, “long bob,” get it?).

You can take a moment if you need it.

You breathing? OK.

While Kendall treated fans to a glimpse of the lower half of her hair and face, they felt somewhat cheated.

We want to see the hair from root to end – accompanied by a pair of eyes and a nose to boot! They shouted. Well, we’re fairly sure they shouted.

And now we have it. Behold:

Yes, that’s Kendall, hardly recognizable.

Yes, she forgot to button her top, and no, we have no idea what the deal is with the glasses.

If you’re also wondering how on earth she’ll ever form her strands into hearts and win the most-liked Instagram photo contest now, I’m afraid we don’t have answers.

But Kendall might have some master plan in store, or perhaps we should call it a prophecy, because did you hear?

Kendall Jenner is totally psychic.

And with that, I’m out.

Gigi Hadid & Zayn Malik: BACK TOGETHER, Model Tweets Support

Just last week, we reported that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik had broken up after several months of dating.

Gigi turned to BFF Taylor Swift to commiserate, as Tay Tay had also just ended her relationship with Calvin Harris.

Everyone presumed it would be the summer of TayGi.

But as it turns out, ’tis ZayGi that has prevailed.

Yep, Gigi and Zayn are giving it another go, according to E! News.

“Gigi and Zayn are back together,” a source told the site.

“They spent part of this week together and spoke about some issues they had and decided they want to work it out with each other.”

Perhaps not coincidentally, the pair reunited in the midst of a difficult time for Zayn.

About the same time the news broke of their reconciliation, Zayn announced that he was canceling his performance at the Capital Summertime Ball music festival in the U.K., citing anxiety as the reason.

He posted an apologetic message to social media, informing fans that he was forced to bow out due to suffering “the worst anxiety of my career.”

In response, Gigi tweeted back to him with these touching words of support:

“Z – I’ve seen the battles you go through and the way you fight to get to a place that allows you to get up there for your fans.

“Your bravery in those times makes me proud, but your honesty last night proved what you’re all about, being real. Human recognizes human.

You made the best of the situation and have given your fans an opportunity to understand you better as a performer.

“Those who can find compassion now are the ones that deserve to watch you continue to grow. We are all here to support you and make each experience easier.

“Your talent and good heart will never lead you wrong. Love you and so proud of you always :) xG.”

Very sweet. It’s no wonder she won the Best Girlfriend award at the Guys Choice Awards.

We wish the best to this couple during this tricky time.

Marcus Grimmie Breaks Silence on Sister Christina Grimmie"s Death With Heartbreaking Message

Friday night, Christina Grimmie was shot to death following a concert in a senseless act of violence by Kevin James Loibl

The 22-year-old singer and former contestant on The Voice had a spirited heart and a promising career that was cut short by this disturbed individual.

Further deaths and injuries might have occurred had it not been for her brother, Marcus Grimmie, who tackled Loibl upon witnessing the attack on his sister.

During the struggle, Loibl turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.

Marcus, who goes by Mark, has now broken his silence by posting a heartfelt message about his sister to Facebook.

“Christina was more than my sister. She was a partner in life. A superstar. A goofball. Introverted. And a friend to everyone. Genuinely,” he wrote.

“But above all…she was my baby sister. She loved the Lord and her family and was always there for me and I honestly don’t know what ill do without her.”

Mark then humbly asked friends and fans to share memories they have of Christina to the page to honor her life.

“But please, if you are reading this far, I would love all and any of you to post pics of you and her and/or memories you have of her down in the comments,” he shared. “I will cherish it forever and always. So please do that for me.”

“Thank you all so so much. The support has been crazy and I do feel a peace. I just don’t have any words. I love you all.”

A friend of Christina’s, Ashly Nicole, told E! News that Mark and his sister were “as close as can be.”

“He was the perfect brother to her and he became almost like a big brother to me too,” she said.

“They were only a year apart and he would always talk about how he would do anything for her. She was his world. He cared about her so much.”

The 27-year-old Loibl was a resident of St. Petersburg, Fla. and traveled two hours that evening specifically to murder Christina, according to officials.

Police continue to investigate a possible motive.
