Big Brother Recap: A New Twist Shakes Things Up

Nicole’s reign as HOH was always going to cause a rift in the house.

Past seasons of the show have found the first HOH playing it safe, but Nicole had to draw a line in the sand with the newbies, or it would have been herself sitting up there on the block.

Big Brother RV

We picked back up at the nominations ceremony and Jozea looked furious that he was put up. Da’vonne went to comfort him and said that she would take him down if she wins the veto.

It’s obvious she’s lying. She isn’t a fan of Jozea. He thinks he owns the house and she doesn’t take too kindly to bullies.

Da’vonne continued to reel some of the new houseguests into her alliance. The Eight Pack was formed and it includes Nicole, Frank, James, Da’vonne, Michelle, Zakiyah, Tiffany and Corey.

Michelle practically begged to join the alliance, but it meant more safety for the veterans. It’ll be pretty interesting to see just how loyal the newbies will be.

It is a bit odd that Paulie is missing, but I’m guessing he will be brought in if one of the alliance is evicted.

The houseguests are gathered in the living room as Nicole informs them of the Big Brother Road Kill Competition.

It involved the houseguests trying to change into their swimming attire, while holding three buttons.

It looked very difficult.

Frank emerged victorious and kept his winner status a secret from the other newbies. He got the power to nominate a third houseguest in secret.

Bridgette, Bronte and Natalie made an all-girl alliance, while Tiffany was on the hammock in the backyard. They thought she was asleep, but she heard all of it.

Jozea suspected that Paulie was lying about not winning the competition and it planted a seed of doubt in Victor’s mind. Paul made it clear to Jozea that he would be taking him down if he won the veto.

The vets debated who to put up as the replacement nominee, but Frank realized that there was a huge chance that if Paul wins, he’d take down Jozea.

Paul is nominated for eviction.

Jozea looked furious when he realized that Paul was up there sitting next to him. Da’vonne was ecstatic at how the group managed to pull it all off.

Who will win the POV? Will it be used?

Big Brother continues on Wednesday!

12 Holy $hit Moments from the Game of Thrones Finale

Wait… what happened?!? Who died?!?

Who is the King? Who is the Queen?

The Game of Thrones Season 6 finale answered a number of questions, posed many more and left viewers absolutely reeling.

Here is a look back at the most memorable moments:

1. BOOM Goes Cersei’s Dynamite

Boom goes cerseis dynamite

Well, not dynamite. Wildfire. But the concept and result were the same: instead of attending her trial, Cersei BLEW UP the Sept, killing everyone inside. This include the High Sparrow and Margaery.

2. This Will Hurt

This will hurt

But that wasn’t enough for Cersei. She also had Septa Unella imprisoned in the Red Keep, giving the Mountain full reign to torture her previous tormenter with the only caveat being that Unella’s death be drawn out a long, long, long time.

3. A Problem with her Plan

A problem with her plan

After witnessing the carnage created by his mother, Tommen jumped out a window and committed suicide. Cersei has now lost all her children.

4. But Now She’s The Queen of the Seven Kingdoms!

But now shes the queen of the seven kingdoms

So she has that going for her at least.

5. R+L = FINALLY!

R plus l equals finally

Yes, Jon Snow is the child of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. He has both bloodlines running through him, he has a claim to the throne… and maybe he can even control some dragons.

6. The King of the North!

By the end of the episode, Jon Snow has been properly dubbed the King of the North. (But he best beware of Littlefinger.)

Spike Lee Tries, Fails to Honor Prince at 2016 BET Awards

We can likely all agree that Spike Lee’s heart was in the right place at the 2016 BET Awards.

As was the case with so many other stars who walked the red carpet and sat in the audience for this event, the movie directed wanted to honor Prince.

But he did not take to the stage and belt out a memorable rendition of a classic Prince song, as artists such as Jennifer Hudson and Shiela E. so impressively did.

(You can check out Hudson’s performance below.)

Nor did Lee deliver a stirring speech about the iconic singer, who died at the age of 57 on April 21.

Instead, Lee raised many eyebrows and drew the rebuke of Twitter by attempting to dress just like the legendary musician.

There was the purple suit… the Prince symbol pin over his chest… and the giant hat.

Oh, man. That giant hat. It has become the target of a lot of ire over social media.

“I know Spike Lee is dressed to honor Prince, but that hat makes him look like Johnny Depp in every movie he’s ever been in,” wrote Dave Schilling.

@TheMovement, meanwhile, wrote that “Spike Lee came to the #BETAwards as Willy Wonka,” while @ReignOfApril made a reference to “The Mad Hatter.”

The point of nearly any tribute, of course, is to draw attention to the person who passed away, not to yourself.

In this regard, Lee unquestionably failed.

But it wasn’t the first time he went to a fashionable extreme in order to remember Prince.

Take note below of how Lee looked during a birthday celebration for Prince that he helped organize in Brooklyn back on June 4:

In the end, Lee can’t sing like Hudson. So what is he supposed to do as a mere attendee at the BET Awards?

He deserves credit for at least trying to honor Prince, even if his outfit did leave us wondering whether or not the Oompa Loompas would be making an appearance at the ceremony.
