Johnny Depp: Refusing to Answer Questions About Amber Heard, Selling Property Ahead of Divorce

Johnny Depp is currently touring the US with his fantasy camp rock band, the Hollywood Vampires, which means he’s sitting for promotional interviews for the first time since news of his ugly divorce from Amber Heard went public.

(Apparently even Depp realized there was no saving the box office blackhole that was his new Alice in Wonderland abomination.)

So what are the morning shock jocks of America asking the screen icon-turned-scarfed-out Keith Richards wannabe?

Well, we know they’re not asking about Amber Heard.

Thus far, Depp has discussed nothing but the band, upcoming gigs, and that old chestnut about how he was actually a musician long before he became an actor, dontchaknow.

Naturally, this is being taken as a sign that the actor’s people have informed his interviewers in advance that he will not be talking about his current legal woes.

Depp issued a statement about the divorce not long after Heard requested a temporary restraining order against him, and now it looks like that will be his last word on the matter.

We’d say maybe he should encourage his buddies to stop talking about it too, but that seems unlikely.

But while Depp won’t be mumbling any insights into his shattered marriage from beneath a tattered cowboy hat, his actions have been speaking volumes.

Depp recently auctioned off two paintings from the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat for several million dollars.

Naturally, there were rumors that he sold the paintings to pay for his divorce, but obviously that’s ridiculous, as Disney continues to back dump trucks full of money up to his house on a daily basis.

It is possible, however, that Depp is selling off items that he doesn’t want Heard to get her hands on in the settlement.

It’s what any self-respecting pirate – or semi-washed up wealthy aging hipster – would do.

Snooki & JWoww: Return To The Jersey Shore House... With Their Kids!

Snooki and JWoww have come a long way from their alcohol fueled drama in the Jersey Shore house.

For six seasons, we witnessed their ups and downs and it made for some of the best reality TV scenes ever.

There was no reality show on the air quite like it, but by the time the final season rolled around, it was pretty stale.

It probably didn’t help matters that Snooki was pregnant with her first child. This changed the dynamic of the show. Snooki changed from an immature young woman into a very strong woman with a family in mind.

No one was surprised when it was announced that Jersey Shore was coming to an end in 2012. There’s only so many times you can watch the same group of people get drunk and make fun of themselves.

Snooki & JWoww’s spin-off lasted  for four seasons and it chronicled the two best friends as they navigated a more mature lifestyle.

Snooki & JWoww recently took a trip to the Jersey Shore house where it all began, but they took their kids with them.

That’s wrong on so many levels. Remember the smoosh room? Let’s hope that room has been steam cleaned.

That was the go-to place when people in the house wanted to indulge in some sexual activity, so we can only imagine the horrors that could be hiding in there.

JWoww’s husband, Roger took to his wife’s blog to speak about their experience and made it clear that he wasn’t fond of the kids going to the house.

“For reasons unknown my wife and Nicole took our kids to the Jersey Shore house today and let them pose for a photo op in the “Smoosh Room” or as I like to call it the DNA Daycare,” Roger revealed on the blog.

It seems like Roger has finally found a sense of humor. Remember he would fly off the handle at JWoww whenever she tried to have a joke with him?

Roger closed off his post with more hilarious comments about it all.

“I’m in a full Haz Mat suit now waiting in the driveway to power wash my kids off and scrub them down with bleach when they get home. Child protective services will be waiting for you as well @jwoww.”

“Our daughter’s face says it all.”

What do you think of it all?

Should the kids have visited the house?

Lori Alexander, Christian Blogger, Under Fire For Saying Men Should Never Do Housework

Lori Alexander, a devout Christian and conservative blogger who is no stranger to controversy, has stirred up some again this week.

Lori A

She’s made headlines numerous times in the past for her views on relationships, like that it’s a sin for a wife to deny her husband sex.

Or, by expressing how deeply troubled she is by modern women being interested in careers than getting married and bearing children.

Now, the mom of four has come under fire for her belief that women should not “expect” men to pitch in with duties around the house.

She wrote in a June 18 Facebook post that went viral:

“Do you ‘expect’ your husband to help w/ household chores? If you do, you won’t have a happy marriage b/c expectations destroy relationships.”

“If he helps, great and if not, do your housework cheerfully as unto the Lord. Remember, you didn’t marry your husband to help w/ the household chores.”

“You married him to be your protector and provider. You should also have married him b/c you deeply loved him,” she adds.

“You [wanted] to make his life better, not worse and put more burdens upon his shoulders than he already has to carry in providing for his family.”

Lori Letter

Channeling her inner Anna Duggar, Alexander concluded by urging women everywhere to “make his life as easy and as happy as you can!”

The post has been shared nearly 94,000 times and has almost 10,000 comments … not all of which have been overwhelmingly positive.

“With a nope, nope, here and a nope, nope, there. Here’s a nope, there’s a nope, everywhere I look are nopes!” commented one critic.

Other detractors were far less kind and polite than that.

Yet Alexander, who has been married for 35 years, tells Us Weekly she isn’t upset about the backlash on her blog, Always Learning:

“I have been getting it since I began my blog over five years ago. It’s part of having a ‘voice’ in our culture that doesn’t adhere to biblical roles as I do.”

“I believe [the post] struck a nerve because housework is a big issue now that women work outside of the home,” Lori continued.

Even those who don’t, she says, believe that gender roles have flipped so much that men are unduly burdened. Their view, as she sees it:

“Husbands should do their fair share since they believe in a marriage where there is no difference between the role of the wife and husband.”

Alexander feels that a lot of this belies a fundamental problem, which is that “women have a tendency to want to try to control their husbands.”

Do you agree? Is she totally off base? Or might we all learn something from the shift away from traditional marital and gender roles?
