Pippa Middleton Confirms Engagement to James Matthews!

It’s official. The world’s most famous behind is getting married.

Kate Middleton’s younger sister Pippa Middleton is engaged, she has landed herself a very cute, very nice and very rich fiance.

As she left James Matthews’ Chelsea flat on July 19th, Pippa Middleton sported a gorgeous ring and told waiting reporters that she “couldn’t be happier.”

Shortly after, Matthews exited the home via a side gate, merely smiling to the press as he and his dog went about their day.

The couple told the Press Association in a statement:

“Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr. James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday, July 17 and plan to marry next year.”

Congrats were also sent from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (who were “delighted with the news,” per Kensington Palace), as well as Middleton’s parents, Michael and Carole.

“They make a wonderful couple and we wish them every happiness together,” Michael’s statement read.

Richard Kay of the Daily Mail broke the story last night, around the same time Middleton posed for photos (with her left hand strategically placed behind her back) at a party for the British Heart Foundation.

Matthews started Eden Rock Capital Management in 2001, and his parents own a hotel bearing the same name in St. Barts.

He and Middleton rang in the new year on the island, and back in August the Middleton family (sans the Duchess of Cambridge) were guests of the Matthews.

The couple got back together last fall after splitting in 2012.  After, Middleton dated another financier, Nico Jackson before breaking it off in 2015 (he is currently based in Geneva, Switzerland).

Matthews’ family is similar to the Middletons in that his parents are self-made, a trait they passed on to the 40-year-old.

“He worked very hard from an early age,” a friend told Kay of Matthews.

“He made a huge amount of cash from hedge funds and some more from the London property market.”

“We’re talking millions here and you don’t do that by the age of 40 unless you are a sharp cookie. And James is very bright.”

Royal fans should not expect Catherine to serve as matron of honor, but we’re hoping that Prince George and Princess Charlotte will play some part in the wedding.

Dan Dillard: Jill Duggar"s Brother-In-Law Gets Engaged!

Dan Dillard – the brother of Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard – may be on his way to starting a Duggar-sized family of his own.

According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, Dan got engaged to girlfriend Deena Tougaw over the weekend.

The proposal took place in picturesque Monterrey, California.

Deena posted the above photo, along with a caption reading:

“On a beautiful pier, in an incredible small beach town in California, as the sun was setting, I said yes to my prince. I’ve never felt so loved in all my life.”

Dan also posted a pic of the engagement and wrote:

“She said yes! So glad that [Deena] accepted my proposal to marry me!”

Despite reports that Jill and Derick were coming home this week, the couple is still performing missionary work in El Salvador.

Wifi service is scant in the village they’ve made their home for most of the past year, and sources say several days passed before Derick learned of Dan’s engagement.

Derick eventually was able to post the following comment on social media:

“Congratulations to my brother and future sister on their engagement! The things you find out when you get wifi while on the mission field LOL! May the Lord bless y’all as you seek him.”

Last names aside, the two couples have a surprising amount in common.

Before Jill and Derick got engaged, they only knew each for a few months.

Dan and Deena followed suit, having reportedly met just earlier this year.

One major difference: Dan and Deena didn’t do the whole “courting” thing, which means they’ve totally probably kissed before! Scandalous!

Anyway, congrats to the happy couple.

Now, get to making babies, you two!

Selena Gomez: SLAMMED on Twitter Because...

Selena Gomez tried to come to the defense of her best friend yesterday.

But she failed in pretty spectacular fashion.

Gomez, of course, is extremely close with Taylor Swift.

And Swift is having, like, the worst week in celebrity history, culminating early yesterday when Kim Kardashian released Snapchat videos of Kanye West speaking to her on the phone.

The topic of the call is Kanye’s song, “Famous,” and the references he makes about Swift at various points within the single.

Soon after the song went viral, Swift pleaded innocent, angry and confused, saying she was irate that Kanye would diss her in such a manner.

(For example, West refers to Taylor as a “bitch” in the song and says he made her “famous.”)

Not long after the Internet nearly exploded due to a beef between the world’s biggest pop star and world’s biggest reality star, Selena spoke out.

“There are more important things to talk about…” the artist Tweeted. “Why can’t people use their voice for something that fucking matters?”

Gomez isn’t wrong.

Of course there are more important things we can discuss than Taylor Swift, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

But people are capable of talking about more than one thing at once… plus, come on now.

This is a very silly response to a celebrity gossip flap, especially when Selena herself appears on magazine covers and gives interviews in which she talks about such pressing world topics as her music and her relationship with Justin Bieber.

As many critics on Twitter pointed out: when was the last time Selena brought up these “important things” online?

“Good question! Why haven’t you or Taylor not said a thing about #BlackLivesMatter or police brutality?” one fan responded.

Gomez slammed the follower by replying as follows:

“Oh lol so that means if I hashtag something I save lives? No, I could give two f—s about ‘sides.’ You don’t know what I do.”

Again, that’s fair. Gomez may do some very important charity work away from the computer.

But the subject here is what people write about on social media and Gomez should have seen this backlash coming.

“I love you but how about you use it as well to talk about what matters? you haven’t spoke up about a lot of things,” another follower wrote.

Gomez is the most popular user on all of Instagram.

She doesn’t have to use this platform to speak on important subject matters.

But she can’t tell other people to do so just because she’s unhappy with the way they’re insulting her close friend.

We admire Gomez for standing by Swift in her time of need; she just could have done it in less hypocritical fashion.
