Brie Larson Wins Best Actress: See Her Speech!

Brie Larson took home the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture on Sunday night.

The Room star won the trophy for her portrayal of Joy "Ma" Newsome, a formerly captive woman who we see experiencing the outside world with her son for the first time in five years.

She knocked off Cate Blanchett (Carol), Jennifer Lawrence (Joy), Charlotte Rampling (45 Years) and Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) to take home the honor.

In her acceptance speech, Larson referred to co-star Jacob Tremblay, only seven years old at the time of shooting, as “my partner through this in every way possible," while also giving props to “my real partner Alex Greenwald."

"I love you, the whole thing," she said adorably about her boyfriend.

She then went on to thank pretty much everyone, from those who make movies to those who go see movies.

Larson got her big break as the daughter on Showtime"s United States of Tara and this was her very first Oscars nomination.

We have a feeling it won"t be her last.

Well-deserved!
