Congratulations are in order for new parents Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale!
Byrne gave birth to a baby boy on February 1, the proud papa announced during a guest appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Friday night.
“I had a baby on Monday, yes,” said Cannavale. “You know, I didn’t do anything. We don’t do anything and I’m so tired. I think I’ve gained 28 pounds since Monday. I mean, I’m not kidding you. Like, this jacket fit so well, like, last Thursday. But I’ve been eating so much.”
The new dad admitted that he hadn’t slept for four days since the birth, and apologized for not shaving.
And what did they choose for a name? Rocco! (Although we’re sure it has nothing to do with Madonna and her son, Rocco.)
The talk show host asked if he was named after Saint Rocco, and the new father replied, “Actually, yeah, patron saint of the sick, right?… He took care of sick people. Pretty sure. Could be wrong. I’m tired.”
So, sounds like the Vinyl actor is exhausted and has been stuffing his face since his son came into the world.
Ah, the joys of parenthood.
Cannavale has one son, Jake, who is now 20, from his first marriage to actress Jenny Lumet.
Byrne and Cannavale have been dating since 2012; this is their first child together.
