According to an update on their ongoing divorce proceedings, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are now united.
Through their respective attorneys, the actress and the actor have lashed out at each other often over the past few weeks.
But they recently came to a joint decision that all information regarding their children and their custody case will remain private.
Via a joint statement that reads like a manual on technical legalese, Jolie and Pitt said the following upon reaching this mutual conclusion:
“The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues.”
It’s still pretty sad and shocking, isn’t it?
Just a short while ago, who would have thought that Brangelina would be engaged in a custody fight over its six children? And an ugly one at that?
A week after this statement was made public, the latest issue of Life & Style states that Pitt has won a significant legal fight against his estranged wife.
Claiming that Jolie has been consistently “canceling” scheduled appointments between Pitt and his kids – while making it as “difficult” as possible for dad, daughters and sons to hang out – an insider says Pitt will soon be entitled to a lot more visitation with his family.
There’s no evidence cited to back up this allegation.
But the tabloid does mention Hollywood has clearly chosen a side in this feud, as proven by Pitt’s on-stage appearance a the Golden Globes.
As you can see in the clip below, he received a rousing ovation at the ceremony.
“It really sent a message about how people have seen him as acting responsibly during Angelina’s entire smear campaign against him,” the source tells Life & Style, adding:
“There’s no question Brad has won this battle.”
Jolie filed for divorce on September 19, four days after an alleged incident on board a private airplane in which Pitt supposedly confronted his 15-year old son, Maddox.
Words appear to definitely have been exchanged.
But accusations of physical abuse against Pitt were also leveled at the time; many presume Jolie was the one behind this rumor, in an attempt to discredit Pitt and win primary custody of her kids down the line.
The FBI got involved. So did the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
In the end, no proof of any abuse was produced and no charges brought against Pitt.
Did Jolie really push for these charges?
Did she really spread lies against Pitt?
We cannot say for certain, but this same source tells Life & Style that members of Jolie’s own entourage believe so. And they have grown sick of her antics.
“There are huge disagreements between members of her team. They are fighting. Some of them don’t like her campaign against Brad,” the magazine alleges.
According to this bombshell cover story, one key cog in Angelina’s camp even threatened to quit.
How come?
Because, despite the FBI and DCFS having cleared Pitt, Jolie continues to insist on fighting for sole custody of her kids.
This report comes on the heels of a claim last month that Pitt is really suffering under the stress of this divorce.
“Brad’s anguish is palpable right now,” a source told the Daily Mail in December, adding: “He desperately misses having his kids… These supervised visits are sheer hell on him.”
Then it’s a good thing he’ll supposedly be seeing them a lot more often going forward, isn’t it?
