It was a veritable roller coaster ride of an NFL season for future hall of famer Aaron Rodgers.
His Green Bay Packers struggled through an uneven regular season, but managed to “run the table” and make it all the way to the NFC Conference Championship game, where they soundly thrashed by the Super Bowl-bound Atlanta Falcons.
Amidst all these ups and downs, Rodgers was also forced to contend with frequent speculation about his personal life.
Unfortunately for Rodgers, the rumor mill shows no signs of letting up, especially now that several media outlets are reporting that the quarterback has gotten engaged to longtime girlfriend Olivia Munn.
Rodgers and Munn have been dating for three years, and according E! News, Munn was spotted wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring last night.
The news comes at an interesting time, as Rodgers and Munn’s relationship has been the subject of intense scrutiny in recent weeks.
Much of the attention is the result of revelations regarding Rodgers relationship with his family.
The 33-year-old’s father and brother, former Bachelorette contestant Jordan Rodgers, recently confirmed that Aaron doesn’t speak with his family, having severed ties around the time he started dating Munn.
Sources say it was a fight between Munn and Jordan Rodgers that led Aaron to the decision to distance himself from his parents and siblings.
The cause of the altercation remains unknown, but it seems whatever the fight was about, it was serious enough that Aaron remains estranged from his family years later.
Aaron and Olivia’s bad blood with the rest of his family is such that she took a shot at the Rodgers clan with a passive-aggressive note posted to social media following the Packers’ elimination from the playoffs.
Neither Aaron nor Olivia has confirmed their engagement publicly, but the fact that neither party has denied the rumors speaks volumes.
So we’ll go ahead and offer out possibly premature congrats to the happy couple.
Aaron may not have made it back to the Super Bowl this year …
